Hello! NYC is quite expensive. Avg meal at a restaurant is $30 including tips, drinks at bars could go from $10 to $20. Cost of living is high here T-T
Do you have advice for asking for letters of recommendation? I don’t know how to ask professors at my current school to write me letters of recommendation so that I can transfer. And it’s so hard to make connections with my professors when we are in such big lectures!
Hello!! I think first year of college is really about exploring options, so join clubs on campus. Or maybe demonstrating continuations of leadership/services outside of school could help too!
@kelly_eng Thanks a ton for your kind reply! I really appreciate you being open to helping me with my Columbia University application. It means a lot! I’d love to ask you a few things whenever you’re free. No rush-just whenever it works for you. Looking forward to hearing from you and getting some of your awesome advice!
From what I knowwww, standardised testing doesn’t seem as important anymore, since it’s optional for many schools. For transfers, recommendations and GPA are more important I think.
you're SO pretty and I love your style
You guys 🤣
I am looking for transferring into Columbia, I had a question, How expensive is going out in New York City, like for a dinner or a drinks

Go to office hours - easiest way to have 1:1 convos! And once they remember you, ask them for rec towards the end of the semester :)
this was so helpful! do you have any tips on activities?

How many letters of recommendations did they require? Also, how many LOR from outside of academics can you send?
From my memory, should be two professor recommendations, and u can send one more LOR that’s outside of academics

gorgeous fabulous queen
Hi babe 😂❤️
Can u change ur major after transferring?
Yes you can! Unless you transfer as a junior, then might be harder due to lack of time to fulfil credits
Standardized testing?

Makes sense. I think transferring to top schools tho I would need a test score. Did you submit?
haiii sorry for the late response. I did submit but my score wasn't the most ideal, that's why I think it could weigh less. @@elijahdavis1827
Got it thank you so much! Would you be willing to share ballpark what the score was? Totally cool if not :)
I am scoring around 1420 and not sure it’s enough. I think I can get close to 1500 but idk
