Outro is just perfect... Motor stopped and you can instantly hear the silence and then twittering of birds around which gives you an impression of how much power you rode...
I ride the Thruxton's brother, a Speed Twin. And man, the looks and feeling of this bike. Triumph really hit the spot for me with the "modern classics" theme. Went on a 2500km Austria/Italy tour last summer with it, worked beautifully. I just wish there was an RS version like the Thruxton (nothing some aftermarket parts can fix though).
Thruxton is better than Speed Twin in the slow and medium corners. Clips ons let you really lean off the bike into corners. Speed Twin has the more comfy riding pos. Speed twin looks slightly better imo.
The same on a Street twin : even with stock exhaust the sound is really beautiful, not too loud but at least you can hear it !(Euro 4, I didn't tried the Euro 5)
I've got a Thruxton R and I absolutely love it. Decatted with some nice pipes and they sound incredible too which goes nicely with the amazing brakes and chassis. Great video, nice to see one getting ridden properly.
It certainly is a beauty! I had a 2011 Thruxton 900. Have wanted a Thruxton again for a few years. When I saw the Thruxton RS Ton Up I knew it was going to be mine. It arrived in mid February at the Tucson dealer. I had it 3 days later. Absolutely love it!
Absolutely with you on that one, loved it's looks (and sounds) from the get-go! If I ever win the lottery, this would have a special place in my garage day one 😁
Each and every triumph in the line up are not just the best in terms of value but also in the looks. I love the look of Thruxton and street triple R or RS the most.
Dude i wait your video on this bike since too much long Time. You get me a perfect present with this video 😉 Sure i want other rush on this bike 👍 i love thruxton since many years, and like you Say: "the most beautifull bike you can buy actually" ✌️
An absolute dream machine, both optically and sound-wise as well as technically. I would love to own it, but the price makes it almost unattainable. Maybe someday ... Thank you, Schaaf, for this experience.
I did ride the Thruxton R (previous model) with all the extras and it was very enjoyable: tons of torque, smouth engine, very good sound with the vance and hines exhaust. Very nice bike to do twisty roads on sunday and then go to some terraze to drink something cold.
I got the Thruxton's little brother Speed Twin 2 months ago, it rides well, looks good, and sounds awesome. But man, after watching your video, I think I should wait a little long to save up another 4 grands to get the Thruxton RS.
@@Schaaf btw schaaf , i used to race a 220hp race prepped R1 at the Virginia International Raceway, for 5 years , have sold it off to another racer before coming back to india, spent money in a house, and am now looking for a relaxed street riding, and enthusiastic riding, basically a veteran rider looking for a good street bike that can tour too, which bikes do you recommend for me ? Racing has caused my wrists to pain after a long time in the saddle, and due to much racing on my race prepped r1 , the doctor's also said that my back pain is due to that , I'm looking for a relaxed bike ( ergonomics ). Can you suggest?
Great video and catch of the authentic twin sound. I´m riding my classic Thurxton 1200 (competion green) since 2016 and I´m still in love with the bike and the experience overall. Prior bike was an awesome 2013 Street Triple R, but now as a father of three I chosed the Thruxton over the Streety. But beware, even the classic non-R is not slower ;)
us non R standard Thruxton 1200 boys gotta stick together. Standards look so much better without the Swedish gold forks and shocks. Gaitors look much more retro. Standard suspension and brakes ride good anyway. Love mine
Tolles video🙌 Die Thruxton ist mein traummotorrad😍 vom design her sieht meine conti ähnlich aus. Aber ist halt wie der kleine bruder. Weniger leistung und qualität, dafür ziemlich günstiger. Aber auch sehr nice🔥
Thanks for another excellent ride and sound! This bike is absolutely a looker and a good machine. The only catch is the price, but for the quality effort is justified. I have a Yamaha XSR 900 Abarth Edition and I think the concept is the same, new retro look Bikes, and I love to ride it. The Ackrapovic double pipe exhaust makes also a nice sound and not so loud, it is street legal.🙏🏼
I just tested the old 900 yesterday and fell in love immediately. Lovely bikes, I'd really like to see more of it. If possible, maybe with the Fairing?
I agree that the bonneville lineup as well as the the thruxton are some of the most beautiful bikes out there! May not be a sport bike but it definitely has some pick up 😂
pure riding.... just a man, his bike and the streets......love it. Quote: "bike got a full tank and I got some bucks in my pocket - fuck off world, I take a ride now to nowhere" (BKingAndy)
A Thruxton 900 owner this side . One thing I can agree on is it rides as good as it looks, Triumph has created an eye gazer with it’s modern classics lineup . Although I still prefer the 360• crank which has an even firing order . It sounds like a F1 car with a full system 2x1 Arrow
I am this close to buy me a Speed Twin. And in another video of Schaaf I commented, that my wish would be to see Schaaf ride and comment on a Speed Twin because he is so knowledgeable. Then it struck me! "he rode a Thruxton! YES!!!" It's the same engine, a little different in the setting, but the specs are nearly the same. I know the Thruxton is a whole other bike with Oehlins etc etc. But I can read Schaaf's opinion of the engine!
Another great ride. Max Wrist style done civilized. It’s just I know that it’s just one click in browser but still would love if you hoped off for a minute and walked around it quickly
I have one, purchased 3/31/21 and loved it! Sadly my Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 with 270 degree crank sounds better with S&S cans and Reverly Cycles headers. I just got the CONE Shorty Performers for the RS and will be installing tomorrow, ready for bike night at the Ace Cafe Orlando on Thursday. I ordered the Free Spirits XL-Pipe last week and returned it. They are using the old style x-pipe and smaller exit tubing elbows flowing from the cat box at 34mm vs 38mm. We paid for the RS engine update so I’ll wait to see if someone makes a proper XL-pipE for the Euro 5 models like the new Speed Twin, which has good sales numbers and could justify the R&D cost of a new “proper plumbed” mid pipe set up. Currently the TFC and Thruxton RS is not sold in great numbers.
Best review without speaking a word. Would be great if you can make one of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. Saw your upload of the Interceptor with Zard, it's amazing.
I owned the previous Thruxton R. And man that engine is amazing, if refined were to be a category of motorcycles, this bike would fit the bill. Sold it a couple years ago, the driver position is a bit too much for the type of riding I do.
I've had so many deer run out in front of me while riding, I get nervous just watching the video of someone riding through woods. The bike, however, sounds awesome.
