Many phones have IR blasters, even computers have them, Macintosh computers have had IR receiver since 20 years ago but they’re only receivers although you can use them to control your computer with your phone

What he did is either of two things.. 1- The app originally lists the appliances models that actually support it in a menu, then the guy just looked at the TV models shown in video, searched for it in the app and applied it, then used it 2- The app doesn't support the TV models in the video, so he resorts to actually programming it (setting it up) by putting the original TV remote facing towards the IR blaster in the gadge.. which then he can program each button of the TV remote to a virtual remote in the app, providing him the same functionality (those who already had Huawei devices already know what I'm talking about) You're very welcome..

I miss doing this… I used to own an HTC One M8 and it has a built in Universal Remote feature, I could literally turn on and off TVs and AirConditioners. I was the hero of the classroom since I always have a remote in-hand if the remote control is lost.
