I'm 18, and in the same boat as you. During highschool I applied and received for a bijillion scholarships, got ahead on college credits during highschool. I'm at a 4 year degree program at my college for IT concentrating in data science to become a data scientist, already got school payed off. I recommend going for more than an associate potentially. A lot of employers like to see 4 year or more in the industry. You can still be debt free by getting a 4 year degree. And as you know, any job with data analysis or data science will give you return on investment very fast.
@@MIKAHGAMER omgosh! Hi, Mikael! Are you the caller? If so, wow! Good luck with everything, man. You already have a good head on your shoulders! God bless.
The high school guidance councilor told my sister to go to beauty school, she didn't listen. Now she has a PHD. If she had listened to others and listened to the limitations others put on her her life would of taken a different turn.
I'm a full time single parent with a high school senior. Unfortunately my daughter has absolutely zero goals for the future, I spend so much energy trying to help her find a path. At this point she pretty much shuts off when I bring it up and I won't get any feedback. She's a high school senior but 18 already, hasn't had a job yet. I started working at 13 and didn't want her working random jobs so it was my suggestion to only pursue jobs that supported her future goals. Since she has no future goals, there's also no interest in working. I've raised her on my own since she was two, when she was about 6 i hit rock bottom. Shut off utilities, not enough money to make ends meet. I went back to college, started over and got an associates in mfg and became a toolmaker. She's witnessed me struggle so much but has also seen our lives steadily improve. I drive home the need to get a solid education and not rely on luck and to not wait.
You have your whole life ahead of you ! Start saving and investing as young as you can. Try to acquire assets not liabilities and avoid debt as much as you can !
Was actually looking for a video like this. I'm graduating high school soon and will be having my diploma and hopefully my associates degree, saving 2 years off of college. My goal is to become either a pharmacist, physical therapist , or physician.. I cant decide. What is some financial advice you could give to me why I am trying to build my wealth and establish my lifestyle
Doesn’t make any sense, what is he supposed to do to pay off that debt before getting a “real job”. A minimum wage job isn’t going to pay for that and non “college” food.
Does it count as not taking out student loans if i have the money saved but im saving it for the end for just in case money? Im a freshman and i have a 15k a year bill. Although I do save $300 per week which comes out to 15.6k. I never touch the money the plan is to save it until i graduate then pay it off once I get another business or job going.
AJ9 if your loans aren’t interest differed you’ll be losing a few hundred bucks a year on that plan. If they are it probably doesn’t matter too much as long as you don’t blow the cash.
Tad Meissner how do i get interest deferred loans? I didn’t get loans for the first semester but now i am going to get them? Who’s the best to get loans from?
@@Mack.of.all.trades usually in your financial aid package they will have subsidized and unsubsidized loans, the subsidized loans won't have interest until you have to start paying them 6 months after you graduate, the unsubsized loans will start accruing the interest immediately. Those interest rates are usually pretty low though, so might still be worth it but make sure to look at the details. Ideally you pay immediately as much as you can. And basically any private loan will start immediately, and have a much higher interest rate, so avoid those if at all possible.
Thanks for everyone wishing me good luck!
Haha good luck dude you're gonna do well.
