that's because the melee towers a like walls, the zombies have to be closer. so take a wall down were the melee towers are.

iXPLODE they dont work because they are melee units. you would have to make sure the towers have no walls between the towers and the zombies, again they have extremely short range, so they can only target zombies that are right infront of them.

Melee towed don't attack when you surround them with walls cud they use spikes. and they can't shoot spikes. and they only attack when they are out of the walls. unlike cannons, grenades and xbows which shoot with long range.
