    It’d be really good if you could go through the differences of touring in a troupie and a dual cab 70 series. I’m toying with the idea of building a tourer

    We did the crossing from Dalhousie Springs, Poeppel corner, Jervois station, Bedourie, Birdsville, recently. Now, the whole area looks much more greener and beautiful. Your video looks so good as well.

    Did it recently in my dmax in 3rd low at 15psi took me three attempts to finally get the right gearing and speed, the 300 series with us made 6 attempts great entertainment as we had a crowd of onlookers cheering as on right on sunset.

    Wow, that's a beautiful change of colour and scenery. From the desert to lush green and water. That camping spot is so cool. Look like a good spot for swim too. It's sad to see your road trip come to an end and farewell to the gang but you guys made the most of your time together ❤️. Looking forward to your next adventure ❤

    Awesome driving girls, couldn’t really tell the difference from the blokes!! Time lapse of the stars was spectacular almost didn’t look real. Loved Hollys serious face getting up big red. Don’t know if your faces looked relieved or sad that the big trip was ending!!

      I think both relived and sad.If you watch the timelapse at the end of the video where is slower, you can actually see a meteor shower that was happening that night.

    Great trip and great time to do it - thats why I keep going back to the deserts - different every time. I get the impression the fat mud tyres are doing you no favours. We drove a HJ47 on skinny tyres for 7 years and it was good on dunes considering how underpowered it was. The following 20 years I ran fat tyres on other Landcruisers and over the past 5 years have gone back to the tubeless skinnys on my current Troopy. The tall skinny tyres on the desert tracks are the best in my experience. And my vehicle gets lighter - I'm 3300kgs fully loaded for Canning, Simpson and GVD trips.

    • @OverlandTravellers
      @OverlandTravellers  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah skinneys would be better. We actually had pretty large tires on the 47, 285/75/16. I think the pressures were lower and it weighed quite a bit less. If I let the pressure down more it might have made it. The new one had probably 3 times the power though

    I sure do know where the camp is!! Went through it in August after doing Googs Track. Well worth it, surprised its still got water, I'm looking at track closures and that part of the Simpson still shows as closed along with Walkers Crossing. Hope to head up that way again next year and do a loop. Thanks for the vision it takes us back to our own journey.

    I used to have a V8 79 series for work and loaded up to the hilt, going up north on the Sturt highway, you’d come against a B Double and put the foot down, pass
    It look down you’re doing 150-160 ,’scary stuff?
