I would like to give a suggestion. When you finish your bracelet, weave in the ends then start another thread for the closures. This way if something happens and you snag your bracelet on something and the closures break, nothing will happen to the actual bracelet. The body if work will stay in tack. I am a native who loves doing beadwork and I love this design!!!! It's beautiful and thank you for the tutorial!
BRAVO a new spin on an old stitch. As a seasoned beader I have to say you have given me ideas for other projects as always, you will get the nod for this interesting technique. Shalom
I made this bracelet and love it. Green Wildfire was used on the first one and on the second I used white Wildfire. What a difference! The second one is so much brighter than the first with green thread. The darker thread makes it look more or less antique. Thanks for the video...
This has been my most used gift item. It is the base where I learned even count peyote, and then adapted it to wider or odd count peyote to be able to put other flags in the mix. People LOVE them!
I love the wave effect. I can't wait to make it. I am very patriotic. Well that's enough of that. Thank you for taking the time. I appreciate it. Take care of the Baby.
Ok, I got my first one done using the guide I shared last week, and it worked!! As the lady in the video said, by about the 3rd or 4th flag, I found I wasn't looking at the guide at all as the pattern of 4 blue/4 row color, or 8 color worked and it was faster to look at my own bracelet to see what came next! Only 3 more to go before the 2nd of July... I'm a member of our local VFW and our largest fundraiser of the year is on the 4th... I'm making these for me, my mom, my daughter and the 4th lady who does all the registration and other "computer" work!
loved it so much I made one for my daughter who works in a doctors office and I couldn't believe how may orders I received. Now im very busy beading these bracelets so thank you so much.
Thank you so much for a wonderful tutorial... I visited the bead show in Atlanta in 2012 and saw this pattern there.. But I was not that good at beads then..but I wanted to do this sometime for sure. And now.... I made it with 11/0 seed beads and it came out well.. Again thank you so much for this lovely tutorial..
I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE THIS! I had other things to do, but am going to attempt this before finishing anything else! You always do the best stuff! Thank you for all your time!
Love this bracelet, can't wait to make one. For some reason the "About Section" only lists rows 1-17. Here is what I typed for rows 18-26 from the video. Pattern: Row 18: 2 White, 2 Blue Row 19: 1 Red, 1 Blue, 2 Red Row 20: 2 White, 1 Blue, 1 White Row 21: 4 Red Row 22: 4 White Row 23: 4 Red Row 24: 4 White Row 25: 4 Red Row 26: 4 White
Thank you.. This is very pretty,, I am making one for my daughter n it her birthday on July 4th. Yeah I was wondering on that row 16 but just went ahead did 2 blues.. Thank you very muck again,, Evelyn.
I've never done anything with beads but saw this in Pinterest & love it!!!! I'll be making it for myself & several more to give as gifts. It's officially on my 2020 goal list. How fun! Merry Christmas 2019! Thanks for sharing. Blessings, L :)
When I worked on this years ago, I remember using a head or eye pin to keep a good tension. Too loose and it's not pretty, too tight and no wave. Just place the eye pin along one edge and let the thread loop around it (like a space holder), then slide the eye pin down as you work along.
WOW! first of Thank's to take time to right the instructions for us & second i really enjoy to see how the weave are made just by pass on the beads & make a V shape i'm impress so Thank's to share.
Katie Voogd Thank you so much for posting the corrected sequence. I have been going out of my mind trying to follow the video. Line 16 is still incorrect in the video and the list in the description is totally wrong. Thank you again. I might actually be able to do this now.
Great to hear, that is awesome! Please feel free to share what you create on our Facebook group for beading and jewelry-making! Here is another similar video you may enjoy! www.potomacbeads.com/how-to/projects-tutorials/PPSB941.html
Did you realize that on row 16 you only have 3 colors on there instead of 4. I have made many of these with the correction and many love them, I’ve used different size beads as well as different not colors really but not just the solids. Quite pretty.
Glad you were inspired by our video! Please feel free to share what you create on our Facebook group for beading and jewelry-making! Here is another version you may also enjoy! ruclips.net/video/BrgX4sACH3o/видео.html
There is also a difference in the beginning of the 8/0 bracelet and the 11/0. If you look closely the 11/0 goes with the pattern that is written out except for at line 15 where you have to finnegal the right beads and the start the pattern again. with the 8/0 you have to compensate for the missing bead and start by adding 2 more rows of 4 red and 4 white. I hope this is helpful as I am following along the pattern and had to pull it out to reset the beginning to follow the pattern.
@Potomacbeadco - Started working on my bracelet yesterday, thank you so much for the video - I'm loving how it is coming out. One correction you may wish to make is under the video description where you wrote out the pattern - Row 13 should read 2 blue - 1 gold - 1 red beads. Found this correction in the comments by @KatieVoogd
Wonderful! We're so glad you are enjoying making this bracelet! Please feel free to share what you create on our Facebook group for beading and jewelry-making! Here is another lovely and similar bracelet video you may enjoy! www.potomacbeads.com/how-to/projects-tutorials/PPSB941.html
LOVE THIS DESIGN GLAD I'M OCD AT TIMES ROW 16 IS WRONG IN PATTERN 1 GOLD ,1 WHITE 2 BLUE AM I CORRECT ,,, MIME CAME OUT WONDERFUL THANK YOU FOR THIS PATTERN
Thanks so much for this. I have wanted to learn the Peyote stitch for some time, and loved this bracelet so much that I started with this. My question is, after the first 26 rows, how do I continue with the pattern? I mean, do I change the rows around? Are only certain rows used once I complete that first 26 rows?
Okay I just made this bracelet except for the clasp part. There were times it was a little frustrating I had to add on some thread to my project and it was for me a nightmare. I would rather use the whole length of thread instead of adding on. So I took it apart and measured out 140 inches of thread for doing this whole bracelet length this did not include the clasp part. I used the 11/0 size beads and did 9 sections came out great. Now I am going to tackle the clasp area makes me nervous I love the look of the hoop clasp but I have always had a problem with making them too small so when I try to place the bead through the clasp it doesn't fit. I hope I don't make that same mistake but all-in-all I loved the look of the bracelet. I may try the next one with fishing line let you all know how that goes. Thank you for the wonderful project I had fun.....deb (Ralph's wife)
Hi Deb, I'm glad to hear that you didn't give up and persevered. Do some test runs for you clasp before you attempt the final one. It will give you more confidence. Take note of the bead counts for future reference.
So this is probably obvious to the experienced beaders but I am a bit of a novice. I realized too late that you start a new flag from row 9. I was not aware of that and when I got to the end of row 26 I started over with row 5. Which made my flag way too long. I will have to rip it all out.😫 I tried doing the V stitch on the longer flag but the diagonal didn't work and I kind of tried to fudge it diagonally but the flag just buckled. It has to be shortened.
Love this pattern but I can't make it work. When I follow the pattern I get 6 beads across the top and 10 across the bottom. Is it me or is there too many rows in the pattern? Thanks for your help.
This pattern is specifically for peyote, so it would be different on a loom. No earring instructions, but you could follower just one flag's worth of the tutorial to make earrings.
Thank you I found the right thread at Wal-Mart for $4.50 thanks I bought 2 of them. I could make the flags bigger with the 11.0 seed beads what's the number count if I want to make the bracelet bigger?
i like to ask a question has any one done an Australin flag in beads as i live in Australia and would like to see same beads work ,thanks your work is very nice.
Getting ready to make 2 of these bracelets (1 in 8/0 and 1 in 11/0) and wondering how many tubes of 8/0 and 11/0 seed beads are needed for each color? I know it will differ as to the size of the bracelet, just don't want to run out. Thanks in advance.
I'm confused with the pattern. Before you start row 9. I paused the video and counted the rows. It appeared that you have one extra row of red and white. According to the pattern you have row 5: 4 red, row6: 4 white, row7: red, and row8: white.
I'm confused! I love this bracelet and am determined to make it, but have started it FOUR times...each time I realize that I'd made a mistake somewhere. Finally, I'm at the end of Row 26, but don't know where to start the next row. It's obvious that I don't go back to the beginning, but where do I start the next row?
Question on the American Flag bracelet is thier another bracelet that I could make with just 11.0 beads??? Im still working on the flag one and I love it so far. Need more patterns for just 11.0 beads.
I'm a first time beginner and I would like to learn more on this stitch would love more patterns for free if there is any?? I've been looking and found nothing.
We have hundreds of tutorials, just click on our channel (ruclips.net/user/PotomacBeadCo) and browse through what interests you. This stitch is based in peyote, and there are more peyote based designs as well.
Does the thread for making it wavey shorten the bracelet a little? I've made 8 flags and it almost meets when I lay it around my arm...hoping it wont be too long
Hi Marilyn, you need to allow for the clasp. If it's going to be too long, undo the last flag before you add the clasp. You don't want it to fall off, that's just annoying.
I'm not sure at this point years later which color we used, but there are a variety of different gold colors that would work. Probably this one: www.potomacbeads.com/Miyuki-Seed-BeadDC-Galvanized-Gold-11-0-p/70383.htm
I am new to beading and working on this bracelet but I'm quite confused as to row 16 as it only has three beads on the pattern. How do I do that row using three instead of four?
I typed up the rows so you don't have to write them down and would like to just print them... You can find them here! (I'll make any corrections noted or that I figure out on my own, heh). docs.google.com/document/d/1-juHTmDeo6RCHYdwl03UlqI_I608jB2FitsxJRwh93Y/edit?usp=sharing
I see you use Miyuki seed beads, my question is are these beads very uniform in size because I have been trying to find Toho seed beads size 6/0 and there is not much variety of colors in this size. And I have been told that Toho is great as far as uniform. I hate using beads that are not uniform makes the project look bad. I also think I will like to try this project too.
Well I like this bracelet very much. It is kind of a challenge for me. But I figure it out, because after you finish, where you start again? Well you start from row 9.,.. Hope it will help. thank you.
Hi Stephanie, thread is something that you can't really calculate, unless it's something you've made many times before. The rule of thumb for thread is to work with a length that's comfortable for you, because you'll probably need to add a new thread at some point anyway. We have tutorials on that if you need them. Happy beading!

I have been searching for this pattern for YEARS!!! Thank you so much for sharing. Love the "trick" to make wavy flags!!!

I love this bracelet! I made one last year and I got so many compliments on it.
Glad to hear that Lea. The more reason you have to make another bracelet like this :) Thanks.
I love the wave effect. I can't wait to make it. I am very patriotic. Well that's enough of that. Thank you for taking the time. I appreciate it. Take care of the Baby.
I love this pattern especially the wave,. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks so much.

You always do the best stuff!
Thank you for all your time!
Love this bracelet, can't wait to make one. For some reason the "About Section" only lists rows 1-17. Here is what I typed for rows 18-26 from the video.

You should put the bead guide in your About section so we can select it and print it, instead of writing it all down. Please? :)
I've never done anything with beads but saw this in Pinterest & love it!!!! I'll be making it for myself & several more to give as gifts. It's officially on my 2020 goal list. How fun! Merry Christmas 2019! Thanks for sharing. Blessings, L :)
I love this pattern. I did it and it looks great! Great thank you
Hi there. Since she says nothing about the length of the thread, can you please tell me how long you started with? I have no idea!! Thanks!! :)
I stated with 2 yards and you will have to add as you go along.
love your videos your a awesome teacher
When I worked on this years ago, I remember using a head or eye pin to keep a good tension. Too loose and it's not pretty, too tight and no wave. Just place the eye pin along one edge and let the thread loop around it (like a space holder), then slide the eye pin down as you work along.
Love it! I want to get started on it, too. Thank-you so much for sharing.
i just love this bracelet

very nice! seems like i'm going to enjoy my new hobby. I would like to make it into a key chain or a bookmark.

I love love this bracelet
@Potomacbeadco - Started working on my bracelet yesterday, thank you so much for the video - I'm loving how it is coming out. I lost my pattern of where to pick back up after you finish row 26 , how far do i go back and to what number to repeat the pattern again. please

Hi Deb, I'm glad to hear that you didn't give up and persevered. Do some test runs for you clasp before you attempt the final one. It will give you more confidence. Take note of the bead counts for future reference.
I actually used some metallic clasps and it came out looking great such a fun project. I look forward to learning to do more....deb @@Potomacbeadco
No it was just standard round seed beads for the one featured.
Row 16 should read..1 gold, 1 white, 2 blue.
Just FYI, there is a mistake on line 16, so be sure to double check that one for the extra bead, thanks!
Thank u, TINA HARSHBARGER!!!!!!!
Very cool! Thank you
So this is probably obvious to the experienced beaders but I am a bit of a novice.
I think row 16 should be 1 gold, 1 white, 2 blue.
Did any one get this confirmed I think it’s missing a bead too.
Correct
once you finish the pattern at what number do you start up back again
Row 9
I loved get the pattern
Love this pattern but I can't make it work. When I follow the pattern I get 6 beads across the top and 10 across the bottom. Is it me or is there too many rows in the pattern? Thanks for your help.
can this be done on a loom and do you have earring pattern and instructions to match.
OBVIOUSLY, you just get graph paper and colored pencils to create the pattern at home.
awesome!
awesome!!!!
i like to ask a question has any one done an Australin flag in beads as i live in Australia and would like to see same beads work ,thanks your work is very nice.
Hello! One tube of each color should be enough.
Thank you
I'm confused with the pattern.
Hey Gayle! Did u figure it out? If u did, please tell me what to do after row 26. Thank you!
I think you go back to Row 9... At least that's what I did and it seems to be coming out right!
Tina Harshbarger THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!! It worked, you're right!! Go back to row 9 after row 26.
Never mind I found what I was looking for At Wal-Mart for 4.50.
How may flags would I have to make to get about a 18" necklace, with 11/0s?
THANK YOU
Heavy, wavy American Flag Bracelet
The rows listed at the bottom of the supple list, I believe row 13 is wrong, it’s the same as row 12
i started my bracelet. having trouble with the thread. what size did you do the flag with?
.006 Wildfire
Question on the American Flag bracelet is thier another bracelet that I could make with just 11.0 beads??? Im still working on the flag one and I love it so far. Need more patterns for just 11.0 beads.
Just search our channel for "11/0" and lots of different tutorials will pop up.
I'm a first time beginner and I would like to learn more on this stitch would love more patterns for free if there is any?? I've been looking and found nothing.

I only have one question what kind of thread and. Size do I need for this I'm going to use the 11.0 beads????
Does the thread for making it wavey shorten the bracelet a little? I've made 8 flags and it almost meets when I lay it around my arm...hoping it wont be too long
Hi Marilyn, you need to allow for the clasp. If it's going to be too long, undo the last flag before you add the clasp. You don't want it to fall off, that's just annoying.
Can I also buy this thread in any store such as Hobby Lobby or JoAnns or Micheals? ???
Quick question. Does making the flag "wave" shorten the length of the bracelet? Thanks, Toni
Yes it does shorten the length a bit.
I was wondering about the colour number for the gold seed bead. Could you include that in the description, please?
I'm not sure at this point years later which color we used, but there are a variety of different gold colors that would work. Probably this one:
www.potomacbeads.com/Miyuki-Seed-BeadDC-Galvanized-Gold-11-0-p/70383.htm
Potomac Bead Company Thanks! Looks right 😊
I am new to beading and working on this bracelet but I'm quite confused as to row 16 as it only has three beads on the pattern. How do I do that row using three instead of four?
sally brown this has been addressed several times, including in the pattern in the description, which you can view by clicking "show more"
When putting waves in the bracelet, does it cause it to be shorter ??
how much thread is needed to make the bracelet for the 11/0 and the 6/0 and what size needle to use :D thanks
We always start projects with 3-5 feet of thread, and add on as required. Size 10 beading needles.
Potomac Bead Company k, thank you. are there any peyote for smiley and laughing face bracelets
Not currently. Maybe we will do some at some point.
I typed up the rows so you don't have to write them down and would like to just print them... You can find them here! (I'll make any corrections noted or that I figure out on my own, heh).

+Tina Harshbarger I think Row 13 might be wrong , what do you think? Row 13 - 2 White, 1 Gold, 1 Blue?
Can you show a purto Rican flag earrings
Would this type of thread would work? Collins invisible Thread-1500 yards??? I found at JoAnns stores.
As listed in the description, we use Wildfire beading thread.
We believe that Miyuki is the most uniform of all seed beads. Toho 2nd, Matsuno/Czech seed beads 3rd.
I'm using Miyuki 11/0 beads and just started my second bracelet. They are perfectly uniform.😄
Well I like this bracelet very much. It is kind of a challenge for me. But I figure it out, because after you finish, where you start again? Well you start from row 9.,.. Hope it will help. thank you.
Thank you! I was confused.
I want to do this pattern but was wondering what length of thread do we start out with? Thank you deb (Ralph's wife)
Hi Deb, whatever length you feel comfortable with, you will need to add new thread at some point anyway.
This question was never answered. After completing the all the rows where do you start the next row? Should you skip 1 & 2 and go straight to 3?
I believe you go to Step 9! Hope that helps!
Row 16 only has 3 beads, how do you add for on row 17 when 16 only has 3? Please help
Hello! This video will help you learn how to increase and decrease peyote stitch: www.potomacbeads.com/how-to-i...
row 16 should read..1 gold, 1 white, 2 blue.
I love the flag bracelet but I need the earrings I saw the video once but cannot find it now help please
Tracye Warman Sorry they were similar to another designer's, so we decided to take it down.
que clase de hilo esta usando?
I was wondering how do you know how much thread you'll need?
Hi Stephanie, thread is something that you can't really calculate, unless it's something you've made many times before. The rule of thumb for thread is to work with a length that's comfortable for you, because you'll probably need to add a new thread at some point anyway. We have tutorials on that if you need them. Happy beading!
@@Potomacbeadco yes please I love to see the tutorials. I am also learning so I can sell my jewelry since I am a stay home wife.
