Personally, I think the performance was a bit boring, but his sleight of hand was really good. I especially like how he dealt the card right at the edge of the cone of light to sell the instant change even better, that was really great. I tried out to deal cards with some rubber gloves but I really had problems to deal to the 2nd person on the table doing that and dealing to the 3rd person was impossible altogether. Hard to play cards that way.

My guess is it was an applause cue because it was a clear beat for the trick, not that the switching on the white light was anything particularly fancy.
Some cards were blue already and he did a second card deal during the “instant change” at 4:10 portion. Other parts the light actually effected the cards and made them actually change. That’s why penn said that some times the light was a magic want and other times it did stuff and was a magic device.

Might beat long shot but here is my take.I think Jason Parker is the Mastermind behind all these magic acts.the way he critics the way stares !As though he trained all these magicians????? And now there unleashed to the world to cause havoc.blow our minds.
Where Penn said the light actually did the magic, he was talking about some physics. An object appears to be a certain color as that is the combination of light it reflects, while it absorbs the rest. If all light of our visible spectrum shines on an object, we claim it a certain color, but if we only light an object with a part of the colors it reflects, it appears to be another color. A green surface that is lighted by blue light only will appear blue.
His place mat turning transparent made me think back to the fundamentals of performing. it's not always misdirection and sleight of hand. Sometimes just doing something in the open isn't an illusion, but just a cool trick. Kind of like yanking a table cloth off a table without breaking any dishes.
The gloves actually helped him grip the felt that was covering the clear mat. You can see him preparing to pull it at 7:38 and then stowing it when the camera angle changes.

It was a good entertaining routine but I was more impressed with his background video clips. It seemed in the beginning that he only showed both sides of the first two and last two white cards and only one side of the rest. So i assumed the rest were colored on the back and a lot of trick was him dealing the colored under card. There were a few things he did where I didn't know how it was done though and he generally seems to be very skilled.
The cards are clear and are coated with a chemical that reacts to different wavelengths of light. The sweat from his fingers would've probably smudged the cards, which is why is wore gloves. Also, the light probably also included an ultraviolet bulb, which will cause some chemicals to fluoresce.
This was a beautifuly crafted trick but what he did is mostly slight of hand using the light as a distraction..but i think one set of cards did have some kind of photosynthetic color changing stuff. like the mugs you get
Jason, I think the color changing is just the way light works with our eyes (along with his slight of hand). A white card under a green light will look green, AND a green card will look white under a green light (or other color). There are a lot of optical illusion demonstrations that show this. So he would just have to swap white cards with green and they would both look the same under the green light. Then he pulls them out from the green light and voila, they are green.
Well, he is obviously extremely talented with cards. For me, this routine falls kind of flat. By mixing technology in my brain just starts to assume anything I don't understand IS technology- and not magic. And therefore, I was not as amazed as I should have been. Every one else seems to like it so maybe it's just me that sees it that way. I hope to see more of his work as he is really good.
Anyone who wins FISM has a great story line to their magic. I enjoyed his act on the show. I think he could have even stepped it up much more honestly.

I thought this was a delightful performance. Not quite as magical to me as DK, but... up there. I see (through replays) how he did some of the key things, and know (through past experience of color theory and such) how some of the rest worked, but it was an utter delight none the less, and a lot of it I did have to go back for or be really thinking about to make sense of.
Pretty simple trick to desolve. Some colour changes (literally lol), few known sleights, second deal, thats it. This routine is heavily inspired by a similar routine I saw years ago, but I cant remember whose it was. It was done with multiple colour light bulbs tho. And it was MUCH more impressive
You have to see the Italian guy that creeps Pen & Teller out! It was released today on RUclips. He used a white mannequin and white mask. It was super good! Have no idea how he did it! (Channel- CardShuffler99)

The tweezers let him access his inside pocket to swap out which deck he was holding right? Not a magician here, just slightly caught up on misdirections.
Hey Jason. I watch all your videos now. Could say I'm hooked I guess. Magic has always fascinated me, but I'm not a magician in any shape or form. I couldn't help but notice you said nothing about why the multicolored cards did not fade back to white slowly as the blue one did. They were under the light for the longest time. Also the parts of the cards that were covered by other cards had changed into the various colors without even being exposed to the light. Hmmm. The more I think about it the less I get impressed. Nevertheless it was entertaining up to that point. Keep up the great work and the short stories. Reminds me of school. We read a lot of Ray Bradbury and Roald Dahl in class back in the 80's. Love your channel.
What kinda bothered me about the "weak blue light" is that blue light is actually more energetic than red light. He should have put just a bit more thought into the patter :) Other than that, I enjoyed the performance.
I was really happy to see Horret Wu to be on Fool Us; however, I feel he should have done his fism winning routine. This routine was great in every way but I feel this wasn't as shocking as his other routine.
I love this act and this routinr, and his sleights were amazing. However, I feel like the moment where the light is constantly changing colors and he spreads the deck under it and you see he was using so many different colored cards in the first place was a mistake in performance design. It was in a way showing his hand, I felt, by proving he did have cards that were already colored the different colors. It didn't add anything either, I felt. It only served to undercut the the entire concept a bit.
Whilst l understand he used photo-sensitive paper and the table mat was clear all along: even though he didnt fool JP or P&T _he certainly fooled me_ with his light-speed sleight-of-hand.

The clear transparent cards, did he pull in a "cool" set of cards? The lamp color had nothing to do with the card colors, each card had its own pre set color change. Video editing, is that going to always be a part of magic we see on a TV?
I saw this magician on P&T and I knew that P&T would say that they were not fooled by the act, but I do not think that they knew exactly what happened or enough to get away saying that they were not fooled with the amount they said, I know that the judges are listening and they must have approved the decision and that means that we do not know where the bar is set for identifying what happened in a generic way verses exactly what happened.
Haven't watched the video yet, but I watched this when it aired. The only thing that I thought I might know was the false deal with the colored cards after each time he changes one card to the correct color with the light. Kind of like Richard Turner does by acting like he is sliding off the top card and dealing from the bottom in a smooth motion. I think the cards weren't all white to start with and he had some colored ones in there or that they were some type of color changing cards. He also showed only one side of the "white" cards the way he handled them before the trick really started. IDK .... but here we go. also 7:39 why people were looking at the clear cards he yonks the black cover off lol

Very boring act. Regardless how it was done, "we" imagine he could do (most of) this with technology, so there is no 'thrill'

Seconds are dealt from the grip. the tweezers are irrelevant. Watch Turner dealing seconds one handed.

I thought the same thing about the rubber gloves.
The Tweezers are quite large and if the bottom has more GRIP to it that could also make things easier

Weakly saturated. In comparison with the "strongly" saturated blue light he used just a moment after, not the red one.
