    Hey angels just a quick clarification on my end because I don't believe I worded this clearly enough in this video:
    1. I understand many people don't get the privilege of just enjoying their job. Many people are doing what they can to pay bills. And therefore, they don't wake up every day excited about what they are doing. And that breaks my heart. I also know I am super privileged to have the opportunity where my passion is my job. But I want too use my privilege and platform to speak up about the issues that harm others. I also wanted to add that around 09:55 I discussed waking up and being excited about what I do. I'm referring to me and my own personal experience with marketing and working on my own business.
    2. Monat girl call themselves business owners, yet in this zoom call, they express how they aren't passionate about the "business" they have built. Which sounds very contradictory to the idea of creating a business. Because if you start a business, you usually start it because you have an innovative product, an exciting concept, a gap in the market you want to fill, and you're passionate about that idea. So I find it very odd they claim to be business owners yet discuss how they don't truly love the business they allegedly own. Any small business owner I've met LOVES what they do and loves what they sell. So its just another example, imo of the misleading nature of Monat and its marketing.
    3. My last point is I really get frustrated when the target demographic of these leaders are people who don't love their job and want financial freedom. Because MLMs are marketed as being able to work and have your passion all in one job. And that's extremely misleading and messed up to promote. Especially considering the fact that even for the top leaders, that's not their passion. So in my opinion, they are lying to others who want the opportunity of financial freedom while pursuing their passion.

    • @wolreB
      @wolreB 2 года назад +1

      I don't think this is true about all small business owners. I hate money and wish I could do the things i like without worrying about money. But because I'm strapped for money I have to monetize the things I love doing, which is actually a huge bummer and I'm not pumped about it.
      But these scammers are not being upfront about that potentially being how it will go when they're recruiting. Quite the opposite, most of the draw in the first place is that they portray themselves as "living in their passion" every day, and oh shouldn't we feel sad for the people just trying to get by, and join their cult to avoid that being us. But in reality they're no different, and actually the majority of them are getting along a lot worse than everyone else.

    That backtrack 👀👀 Weren’t their distributors “marrying” Monat and claiming to be lifers and now all these high ranking huns are basically stating their dissatisfaction? I think Connie is jumping ship soon.

      It's absolutely insane the way that they feel the need to subtly hint that they're going to be leaving, that's they're not satisfied and that their passion is something else. But still they have to "work the business" so they're trying to fit that message into their "hell yeah I love monat" speech to the team. It's so, soooo sketchy

      @dahliacheung6020 2 года назад +4

      It's like they don't think it's ok to be both a "beauty girl" and a smart, tech loving girl, and because of the misogynist society we live in, they see the latter as being a lesser thing. So then we see them eith extensions in, hair curled/blown out, full face of makeup, saying they're "not into beauty."
      Like yo, there's no need to lie! You can be totally into beauty and makeup and hair and fashion and still be smart, tech savvy, and nerdy. Also, just because you're into beauty, that doesn't need to be your career. There's no need to tell everyone you're one type or the other type of woman; be who your are and embrace your unique, multi-faceted self!

    I read this whole Zoom call message as trying to be relatable, trying to normalize feeling like shit about what they're doing in this MLM, and make it seem like it's more important than it actually is by describing having a "purpose."

  • @Beehappy76637
    @Beehappy76637 2 года назад +33

    There is no other job in the world where these types of calls would be appropriate. Can you imagine being at your “ corporate “ job and your manager asking you these things? Can you imagine if you worked at a grocery store, big box retailer, customer service or restaurant ? Employees would wonder what the heck is wrong with their boss and why is she asking me what my purpose is? I would be offended and wonder why my boss is trying to pry in my personal life. It’s sad that a lot of these younger girls have never had much work experience and they believe this is how managers behave. They never once provide a realistic account of how joining could make you lose money. This reaffirms that they are just looking for a warm body. The fact that two women can sit on a call and literally exaggerate the facts is beyond concerning.

    • @tarajh

      In fact, at my employer there was a guest speaker who was talking about what our purpose is as human beings and it was a very problematic speech. Staff filed complaints and the speaker won’t be allowed back until they’ve undergone training. no one should ever make assumptions about peoples purpose, it is no one’s business to tell anyone else how to life and to what purpose.

    I started in a blue-collar town and now have a happy life in the big city, earning more than all but the top few dozen Monat reps, great family, and a success by this person's own criterion. I have never had a "purpose," never chased a "dream," and nobody "created" me for any reason. I live life just to see what happens next, and it all works out tine. As you say, toxic positivity, hustle culture, just ignorant garbage. But it is really telling that this sales rep for a shampoo company now doesn't care for shampoo, and you're right, she's clearly getting ready to move. And if she had mentioned crypto, we'd know where.

I honestly want to know if they know they are doing it, if it's on purpose, and WHY. I mean I know why :D But how do they explain it to themselves? It's so bizarre. Is this something they talk about with each other, or is it like this elephant in the room?

Doesn’t understand why so many people are “just surviving?” How about a pandemic, for which her husband and also probably herself didn’t want to do their part and get the vaccine. How about the economic situation, but I hear her parents are rich so I guess it doesn’t affect her. How anyone on her team can sit through this drivel and actually agree with them is beyond me. The systemic analysis is so lacking with both of them. So out of touch. As for Tony Robbins, I agree. Also he has sexually harassed women, Buzzfeed did a huge story on that a few years ago.

    The way she talks comes from such a privileged position... So many people right now are losing their jobs and are in such unstable positions and they literally CAN'T have a one year plan... You need some form of stability to be able to plan long term... As someone who has always had to move from country to country and now I have to guarantee I can stay .. I can't plan for 5 years because I can't even know where I will be in 6 months... Planning long term is a privilege... Sure you can have goals and dreams or whatever ... But when your life is soo freaking unstable your dreams have to adjust to the reality you're allowed to live in that moment.... I'm really annoyed 😅

    Something can be your passion without you wanting to do it every day of your life - or being monetized. Working with horses and being around the equestrian community is a huge passion of mine but there are just some days where I don't want to go through the effort of riding, or I don't want to pack my camera gear around a show for 9 hours to take photos. Monetizing things takes the passion out of it for a lot of people. I literally dread the idea of monetizing my hobbies, it gives me so much anxiety - so ya I'll put the hours and hours into taking photos, editing them, and posting them just to let the riders and owners use them for free because I *enjoy* doing it. I hate taking art commissions, like if I have the time I will just draw the thing for you, please don't bring money into it or I will immediately not want to do it.

    “Happy/Sad” “Positive/Negative”. Humans are complex multi-faceted individuals and it’s annoying that these NON-LICENSED individuals insisted on reducing human emotions down to these four things.
    Not to mention, sometimes those feelings from the downline are uncertainty and confusion and should be trusting their gut. But instead the uplink is brainwashing them to “think positive”.

    Hey beautiful just wanted to let you know (using headphones) that there was no static or crackling noises like I mentioned before for you as some feedback, as I couldn’t not say it’s gone or not there anymore otherwise you might still be scratching your head wondering if the issue has gone or is still there etc lol, great video as always look forward to the next one 💖💖

    It also reminds me of Brooks Banks saying that Modere is a better fit for her than Limelife was, because she's not really a makeup and beauty girl (or something along those lines. That's not verbatim). And here we have Connie saying the same thing about not being into skincare and beauty.

    I think this is them doing damage control to combat Veronica's story she did...she said how she wasn't feeling monat... it's not what she was meant to do.. so now they are gaslighting saying with out saying if you basically feel like Veronica.. why would you leave monat..Monat is a vessel to your purpose its all on you.. are you really working are you settling...victim blaming....guilt . Im relatable ..im like you...a sprinkle of .shame... blah blah blah.... lol

    Sounds like she’s trying to say “Just stop being depressed” like… I can’t control it. You think I want to lay in bed. You think I want to think dark life ending thoughts? Noooo!! I really hate this type of person.
    I used to sell thirty-one. I’ve gone to events. But I was low low low loooow in the down line. No one gave a fuck about me and how much money I was spending and how I wasn’t getting any money back. I got sucked into it after graduating high school. They do go after graduates. They go after anyone. I got my aunt under me and I still feel bad. So when I got out, she was still in it. But not that long after I got out she eventually got out too.

    That "life of purpose" is such a disgusting and manipulative thing to say to someone. You don't have to earn the right to exist! We're all allowed to take up space whether or not we are deemed "useful" according to someone else's standards. God, stop trying to shame people just so you can squeeze more money out of them!

    Well, 9-5s sometimes are also delusional enough to think that their business is employees' priority and passion, but they at least PAY SALARY. And these pep talks are ridiculous. Imagine your boss call up a meeting and start telling you all these BS. And now imagine they don't pay you, even more - you invest your own money into the business. Most of the people would be up and go.

    I didn´t get the feeling that they are leaving but they seemed to me like they were "overcoming" the excuses that the big monat girls that left used in their leaving videos for example when she said that your purpose doesn´t have to be to sell shampoo seemed directed to the last monat leader that left. I think that other leaders are echoing those feelings and this is a desperate attempt at making them stay.

    I say this with a kind heart- your videos and content are awesome but from my POV, I feel as if we are spoon fed your thoughts to a minutia level and it is repetitive. Think could be less # of interruptions. We get the points. Also, some of these women are at a life stage where they cannot be passionate about their jobs. Not everyone is. It is a means to an ends. So whether it is selling a MLM product or working for a 9-5 that is a not one’s dream, it is a means to an end. Larger point would be is that if it is a means to an end, then don’t work for an MLM as it won’t return, in dollars, the amount of time u spent on pushing its sub-par products. Also, you made great point from an analytical perspective of hey, sounds like they are leaving because (u explained why so well). I love ur passion, your frankness, and how much u care about helping people see what BS MLMs are & that’s why I continue to watch

    There are two versions (I know of) of the story she butchered. One is set at a cathedral in the 1400s, the other at NASA in the 1950s; bricklayer and custodian, respectively. First person describes the labor, second is supporting their family, third is either building a temple to the glory of God or putting a man on the moon. Different ways of seeing an honest day's work.

      Just think about what amazing things could be done in research for ME/cfs, long Covid, and autoimmune diseases if all these huns and their energy were funneled into fundraising to find biomarkers, treatments, and true cures, not these mediocre products and predatory business practices.
