    Lovely pattern! Don't know when I will get around to crocheting it. I have a dozen projects in the works right now! Thank you for the tutorial. You are very clear with your instructions too. Neatly joined with the new colors and I may try joining colors the way you do. Have a wonderful day!

    Came across your tutorial yesterday. I'm new to crochet, but I thought I would give this a go. I slowed your video down and went through it stitch by stitch. Four hours later, I have completed six rows, and I'm back on the single crochet. Clear simple instructions. Thank you so much. It looks like I'm a pro!! 😊😊

    I picked your video because you have a follow up video on how to put a boarder on this blanket. I started off using someone else's video tutorial but they didn't go over how to add a boarder and it was stressing me out! So far it has been very easy to follow and I like the way it is turning out!

    It's a very beautiful stitch, nicely explained. I find the leaves a bit thin to my taste so I'm gonna flesh them up by doing 2 double crochet puffs. I plan to add this stitch to a gigantic granny square blanket so I'll have to figure out the proper stitch count, probably by having a multiple of 3 number of rows... Fingers crossed !

      hello. so I've got my yarn and crochet hook to begin the tulip stitch pattern. ill be making an afghan size blanket. I have started over 3 times because its not laying flat. I'm using a med 4 yarn and hook H/8. its almost like its ruffling. any suggestions? thank you

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  7 лет назад

      Hi Terri! So sorry you are getting stuck in the beginning! Make your starting chain with a larger size hook - by a full size (+1mm) or even 2mm. Start with a quick chain 20, and then work back with your stitches for a row. Stretch your work... the foundation chain should almost have the same stretch as the top row of stitches. Does that make sense? Hope that helps! You can also see a bit of the technique in my latest tutorial - just watch the beginning few minutes - until I stretch the chain. Hope that helps? Christa. xx!

    Christa, I've made a boo, boo, with the placement of the green, I only skipped one sc instead of two, would that still be ok?
    I'm using DK yarn with a 4.5mm hook Thank you. :)

      Hi, 2Arcticwolves! Oh no! Sorry for not seeing this right away! What have you done to resolve it? I think it just won't lay as flat - you will have too many flowers side by side. Did it work out? xx

      I ended up frogging it, that will teach me not to pay attention won't it? I am taking a hiatus from it for a little while, my fingers were hurting. :)

    Hi! I am still new to crochet {1 year}, would you be able to tell me the size/type of yarn you used for this project? Thank you, Jamaca [West Virginia]

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Jamaca! Welcome to a wonderful life of crochet! I used regular craft yarn (like Red Heart Super Saver) for this tutorial. Just the basic acrylic yarn. It's a size 4, technically. But you can use any yarn you have - just use the hook size that is recommended for your yarn!

    Are the tulips supposed to line up in each row? Mine are not lining up exactly.

    Can you share the brand and colors you used?

      Hi Luanne! We just use regular ol' craft yarn. It is produced in Kenya. It would be similar to Red Heart Super Saver.
      Christa. xx!

      Hi, Sandra Wijckmans!! This was made with Kenyan acrylic (before I discovered Ice Yarn!) I would use Saver 100 for it - great body and durability. bit.ly/2ImrKhT

    I have been trying to make a blanket of this with a different video/pattern. I keep messing up how many stitches are across when I do the foundation color.
    if I make a chain of 180 plus the final 2, should I have 181 stitches in each row between flower/stem rows?

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  7 лет назад

      The foundation row can be so tricky! Basically - you need a stitch count that is divisible by 3. If it works out wrong, you can always "adjust" your stitches... ;) xx!

    I am interested to know how you figure out the foundation color amount for a baby blanket (approx 36" square). I have lots of scrap material for tulips, can change color of tulips if needed ...I am thinking of using a large amount of foundation color, but need to know how much...would appreciate guidance.

      Hi Chris! What a great project! I would make a foundation chain about 36" long, and not care too much about the stitch count. When you are making the foundation chain, keep counting to 3 as you go along: (1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3) so you know that the final number will be divisible by 3. Chain 1 more, and work your way back with single crochet. :) Hope that helps? Christa. xx!

    I have two single crochets left at the end when I am doing the stems, why do you only have 1 in the video? what did we do different?

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  7 лет назад

      Hi Jessica! The pattern is in multiples of 3... so one one side you have 1 single crochet, and the other side you have 2. Does that make sense? Or help? Christa. xx!

    The tutorial is awesome. There was only one issue. You did not need to go over and over how you joined your new color. It became very annoying. BTW if you used the Russian knot or the Magic knot you wouldn't have had to drive use crazy with your tails every time you changed colors.

    Really hard to see what your doing. Your hands and project are out of the screen. If it wasn't for your verbal instructions, wouldn't be able to figure out what your doing. It worked for what it was worth anyway.

      Hi Kelly Jo! I know, and am so sorry! It's a real challenge to keep the camera zoomed in enough to see the stitches, and far enough away to keep my hands in the field of view... This year I am keeping the camera zoomed out more. Thanks for watching! Christa. xx!
