I loved the food in Korea (well, most of it) and the scenery. The people I met were gracious even when we couldn't converse. The funniest part of my experience in Korea was going to dinner with a fellow American. She (Caucasian) spoke Korean while I (Asian) didn't. The waitresses would come up to me and ask for the order in very quick Korean. I'd sit there looking dumbfounded while my friend would respond and give our order -- the kids around us would just stare, trying to digest the dichotomy of the situation.
Korea does sound pretty awesome. Your comparison does remind me of the shock I experienced going from Australia to for work Singapore a few years back.
I love this video! I've been to London and Korea and love both places for their own reasons. I agree with you about Korea being safe. I felt so safe there when I was living and visiting. I would walk home alone at night as well and felt super safe. BTW you are pretty!
My favorite thing about Korea was the people and the great friendships I've made that have lasted over 20 years , then the delicious food and of course the beautiful scenery.. Thanks for sharing your opinions.. Full support from Romania 👍
Bobby Smyth that’s great that you had such a great experience is Korea!! The friendships that you make really do last 😊 Thank you for watching my video 🙏

Went there last August of 2019 for the first time, it was a short couple of days visit since the plan was to visit Thailand. I’ll definitely plan to stay there longer next time. Btw, got charged on my phone even though there was a free WiFi in the Airbnb 🤦♂️...I’ll be sure to either pay $10 a day from my carrier or get the SIM card. I was also dumb enough not buying the SIM card while in Thailand too lol 🤦♂️😅
Definitely get sim cards at the airport, that's what I do when I go back to Korea! It's unlimited fast data for not that much money 👍Thank you for watching :)
Korea is a really nice place to visit, but I can’t say the same when it comes to work. Especially if you’re working for an organization and not as a freelancer or entrepreneur. It’s confucianism taken out of context; respect isn’t earned but purely on the basis of age and status. There’s still a huge amount of bullying and favoritism in corporate settings and massive gender inequality. Appraisals aren’t based on merit but rather the relations with superiors. The emphasis on age and hierarchy has created such a huge divide between generations that it’s almost impossible to have genuine friendships outside of your age group. One huge ‘pro’ though; there isn’t a concept of retrenchment if you’re working for a conglomerate. Once you’re in, you’re set for life regardless of your performance. But still, Korea is my favorite and will always be my 2nd home.
Hi Anna, thanks for the video. I'm enjoying it. I want to add a comment: We can find many bins on the streets in Gangnam District (not in Seocho nor Jongno, unfortunately). It really depends on districts in Seoul.
I love Korean Food (sometimes I order that) I live in Germany and when u go to doctor here you need to wait a half hour or a hour then the doctor will say to you what’s wrong with u
One big con i think is the way you have to address your elders. In some extreme cases you even have to talk to someone even 1 day older than you in honorific korean.
@@anna.lee_jy yeah, went to Seoul to visit my Korean buddy back in my uni days, one of his friends insist me to call him Hyeong or big brother because he is a couple months older than me lol. Such a culture shock for me as a Taiwanese Australian. I am on first name bases with my former bosses and professors back in Australia. So it’s REALLY weird for me. Did it take time for you to get used to it every time you go back to visit or is it imprinted in you already? I found your video because of uncle roger’s video and I love your personality so I am now a new sub. Please stay safe in London.

I’d love to visit Korea one day but because of my music taste and my appearance( gothic fashion , piercings , tattoos ) people probably will think I’m a little bit too weird and won’t except me LOL

Bread is made sweeter in Korea because it is considered a snack such as cookies and other desserts, not a main meal.
