    I DID IT! This was my first time to ever field strip and re-assemble. I had heard horror stories, but perhaps by changing out to the TK bushing during the process I saved myself the horror. Yes, a couple bumps in the road but don't panic, don't force anything and keep rewinding as necessary, you'll get it.

    The ABSOLUTE BEST PART of this video is explaining how to move the little spring so that the pin slides easily. I tried the hammer method, but gave up because I was unsure that I might do damage. By following your instructions, I had the bushing replaced before your video was even completed. Magazines slide out with ease, and take-down and reassembly is so much easier now! Thanks!

    After watching the video for weeks I finally got the balls to try to put it in. 5 minutes later the magazines were dropping out like a 1911! The BEST video on the web. Thanks Tandemcross.

    This is the best you tube on putting this bushing in , It is simple if you follow his directions. I am 60 years old and did this in a matter of ten minutes after seeing this film. Works great. I would recommend this part if it is the only part you put in your 22/45.

    Jim that is our goal. Make installation easier. The firearm is already difficult enough to strip so getting this part in with little effort is important. Thank you for the feedback!

    Was going to take it to a Gunsmith but decided to watch your video. Didi it step by step like you showed and was in and done in less than 15 minutes. No more mag hang ups. Everything is running smooth. Thanks for your great support as well as all your other products for the Ruger 22/45 MK III.

    This worked! I had already put the sear in thinking that I didn't need the bushing then decided to put the bushing in so I had to do a lot of it twice. This video makes the job easy and the magazine drops out like a rock.

    I was just looking up videos for this, as I picked up my MK III last night, while my lady is getting her 22/45 tonight. I came across this video this morning in researching how to install hers, as mine was cake, but I was wondering about the molded grips-style. Low and behold the cheapest price on eBay was you and I ordered from you (because you were the lowest) before even seeing this video. Thank you, we will do hers tonight...

    I purchased the bushing about a month ago, just got around to installing.
    I watched this vid on the install while installing, had to pause a few times, but within 20min, I have my 22/45 up and running with the new bushing. GREAT VIDEO, but I might add...using a punch to capture the parts and realign them for reassembly helps alot. Thanks for the vid and product!!!!

    I just got through doing this mod. I ended up taking the safety out but I learned a lot about my Ruger 22/45 lite while putting everything back into its correct place. Even so, this mod took me about 15 minutes, and that included a good cleaning and lube. The mag's drop right out easily. The mags are a bit loose, but they seen to stay in place ok. I'll know better after put a few hundred more rounds through it.

    I have the 22/45 Gold anodize Lite (Catalog# P45MK3ALRP) This bushing has worked perfectly (500+ rounds) so far. The magazines dropping freely is reason enough to purchase! Pretty Good video. At some key points, the focus seems to be on the mat (parts on the mat are in pretty sharp focus), but the parts being worked on are slightly out of focus. This makes checking orientation of small parts more difficult. For example look at 5:40 - 5:50. Checking the small parts in the gun in my hand by comparing with the video at this point is difficult. Other than this picky point, this installation was less of a problem than I had feared.

    I just installed the bushing on a 22/45 I picked up used 2 weeks ago.
    Everything that could go wrong did.
    springs fell out before I could see where they belonged
    The hammer pin slid all the way out on me.
    The worst was that the sear dropped back and I missed it. It took me an hour to figure out its' proper position. You might want to add a section on the proper position of the sear.
    I finally got it back together and all looks good. Next to the range.

    I did this mod. When the magazine is empty it locks securely in place. However, even if I have one round in the magazine, I can easily pull it out without depressing the release. Have you had that experience? When I put a loaded magazine it feels kind of mushy and not a really secure snap. Never had one fall out but it just doesn't seem right.

    • @TANDEMKROSS
      @TANDEMKROSS  9 лет назад

      If you are used to the pressure on the magazine from the lever from the disconnect bar and you then remove this pressure the magazine may seem loose to you. However this is the normal fit for the magazine without the added pressure of the Mag Disconnect bar pressing on the back of it any longer. The magazine will have some play, but will be seated and in the gun properly. If it has a lot of excessive play you may want to clean up your mag-release button and the surface that makes contact with the magazine. Hope this helps!

    If you can not put the magazine in and take the safety off and then dry fire (which is ok on the Mark III and 22/45 but be sure you know for sure dry before dry-firing any rimfire) then you might have something seriously buggered up. I would seek out the advice of a good shop or gunsmith.

    It's this work on Mark IV 22/45 Lite?

    • @TANDEMKROSS
      @TANDEMKROSS  7 лет назад

      Thanks for your question. This part does not work with the new MKIV 22/45 LITE. While the MKIV 22/45 LITE does still have a magazine safety, it is designed differently and does not cause the same issues with the magazines as the safety in the MKIII series.

    • @cmichael2005

      Thanks for reply, I like the Victory trigger better than the VQ trigger, I had contact VQ, They have to sell the Whole kit for the Mark IV 22/45 Lite, If I just got the trigger from you guys, How much will decrease the pulling weight? Or I just order the Whole kit and have spear trigger.

    • @TANDEMKROSS
      @TANDEMKROSS  7 лет назад

      Our trigger for Ruger 22/45 does not actually lighten the pull weight. The flat-face design of our trigger DOES offer the feel of a lighter trigger pull, as it allows the user to put their finger lower on the trigger and improve leverage. In combination with VQ internals, you will actually lighten the pull weight, plus have the benefits of a flat-face, textured trigger (better ability to pull straight back, improving accuracy, better grip, etc). Hope this helps answer your questions! Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions.

    Good video and product, what should have been discussed a bit in more detail is when you do pull the pin, chances of pulling it all the way out are very high, in fact basically you will most likely pull it all the way out. When that happens a lot of pieces come flying out and the safety sear will need to be re-asembled. This can be done incorrectly which will cause a lot of frustrations, after some research I did get it back together again. Included is the web site I used for detailed re-assembly. www.guntalk-online.com/2245detailstripping.htm

      Bushing upgrade was a game changer, if there is only ONE upgrade on the Ruger MKIII .22/45 this is it. Thanks for a great product.

    This video is horrible quality. Since this video is intended for the layman, instead of talking about components with fancy names that I keep having to pause the video to look up, jump to pictures of each component you talk about and maybe point at things. My head hurts.
