Interesting thing about the classic black/white panda. I saw a video recently from Australia and they said the same thing that they are quite rare now. I bought some shadow panda a couple of weeks ago in the UK and I have about four that look classic black/white. Hopefully I can breed some more 🤔
There is a big problem with getting those classic ones. I was thinking about trying to make some hybrids - PBL x white taiwan bee panda and see if it would bring the white back
i had kept dwarf blue crayfish (same gene pool) for 3 years or so. Last year towards the end of the entire pack's demise, i had a crayfish with insane purple coloration. haven't seen that before. Your thesis might be right. unfortunately the crayfish all died out from odd circumstances.
Unsure, but I have a colony of purple metallics going right now. I bought 1m 1f and 5 juvi. They seem to come from a line of galaxy tigers. They have tiger stripes somewhere from 2-5 in the tail, white stripes on a fully purple metallic body. Lots of purples will have purple head coverage and then black tails, mine are whole body metallic. The breeders here are starting to pick out that style and keep the full purple going. The female is currently berried. Wish I could add a picture cause she’s an absolute beauty
