  • Gold is one of the world’s most valuable metals, used in everything from electronics to dentistry. But do you know where yours comes from? 20% of gold comes from artisanal and small-scale miners, who often work illegally using toxic chemicals, such as mercury. The Minamata Convention is working to promote mercury-free mining that helps workers and the planet.

thank you- might be better if the captions didn't block the process. I was also looking for how mercury is used to get gold extracted. Maybe a rerecord with more info on the process without captions blocking the pictures.

UN should provide means to do this safely instead of just “mercury bad”. If I’m not mistaken mercury fumes can be condensed and captured

Why even build a structure if you don't operate indoors, this can easily be automated

I appreciate the 1 min video, which was visually appealing. If possible, please make a more process-oriented video, so the viewers can understand, how exactly mercury is harmful. I believe, the other comments mention the same.
If you are interested, please make similar small videos of the environmental footprint of cosmetics industries, etc.
    A must-watch playlist.

I was looking for a video about how miners use mercury to separate the ore from gold.
I was looking for an education, not this propaganda garbage.

Not really a propaganda garbage, but I agree that the video could have been far more informative.
