Yes he did
Indeed he Absolutely did.
I cried when I heard about his passing 😢
Yes
Yep
Rest in peace, Robin Williams. It's been ten years since we lost him, and he definitely left behind a legacy of memorable characters.
And a comedic hole in our hearts.
He will always be remembered in our hearts 💙
TEN YEARS ALREADY!? OMG
Robin Williams was perfect as Genie. The role was made for him, and nobody could ever top it
And the wonderful animation team had such a task to work with his improv, but it was a match made in Heaven with Robin’s talents and the terrific team who brought Genie’s animation to the screen
Dan Castellaneta did a good job as the voice of Genie in the second Aladdin, but fortunately Robin Williams came back in the third movie.
Not even Will Smith...
RIP Robin Williams, an absolute legend. His comedy and improv skills were just incredible, and bringing that to voice acting truly changed the game forever. And we will forever miss him.
You know, I’ve read somewhere that back then, actors were told not to take their roles seriously since it’s unlikely that they’ll remain long enough but that alone is exactly why such voices with their respected characters are remembered and still holds up because not only do they bring them to live, but it also brought to a point that, in a way, the characters themselves are alive with our visualization. People like Frank Welker, Phil LaMarr, Troy Baker, Mark Hamill, Roger Craig Smith, and of course, the late Kevin Conroy is what made their stories possible to be coherent as well as memorable. Plus, there are some characters that without that person in particular, no one else can fit the bill, just like with live-action acting. So yes, Robin Williams has indeed revolutionized the entertainment industry for voice actors everywhere.
He was a one-of-a-kind talent whose presence will be deeply missed. Thank you once again for your generosity and for being a valued member of the MsMojo community.
RIP Robin Williams (1951-2014)
hi, MsMojo. May I ask you something?
Amen.
It goes without saying that Robin Williams became such an icon that his legacy and influence has always managed to inspire and touch our hearts!
Robin Williams: "You ain't never had a friend, never had a friend"
Will Smith: "You ain't never had a friend, never had a friend"
Williams and Smith: "You ain't never (never), had a (had a) FRIEND (friend) LIKE (like) ME!"
"You ain't never had a Friend Like Me!"
I think you mean The Slapper not Will Smith
Robin Williams was a legend. The fact that he can play a really good guy and also a villain is pretty good. Robin Williams will be missed. There's nobody on Earth that can replace someone like him
Robin Williams was a rare comedic gift that the world didn't deserve
He was that hilarious uncle we all welcomed into our lives through his work. It was a collective loss for the entire world when he died
I remember the movie "Mrs. Doubtfire" where the beginning of the movie shows him losing his job as a voice actor. And he was doing a really good job !
I still cannot believe that its been almost 10 years since Robin Williams left this Earth. A one of a kind talent who was energetic yet humble was lost that day. 🕊 ❤
One of my top 5 favorite comedians/movie celebrities of all time.
RIP (1951-2014).
Whoever decided to cast Robin as the Genie must have known the world of voice-acting would change forever
In a good and bad way. It was Jeffery katsenberg.
Just can't imagine anyone else besides Robin Williams he was a comedic legend
Robin Williams was truly a one-of-a-kind, special human being who changed the game of so many genres of TV, film, comedy, etc. Not to mention changing, and enhancing, the lives of so very many people throughout his too short lifetime. He is still loved and missed so much!
Ten years after he left us, we still remember the happiness Robin gave us over the decades. He had equal parts comedic talents but so much heart in both comedic and dramatic roles. The man was so many voices of my childhood and his work made me smile that it was a massive shock when the news broke he had died
R.I.P. Robin Williams (1951-2014) 😢😢😢
He will always be the best Genie he was meant for that role
Don't forget about Transformers: The Movie 1986. That had A-list actors like Leonard Nimoy, Judd Nelson, Robert Stack, and even Lionel Stander (Rocky's "Mickey") and more. I think that is the first "all-star" animated movie ever made. They did an awesome job, but undoubtedly, Robin Williams took it to a whole new level.
But transformers 1986 movie didn’t promote because of the voice actors.
I can’t believe it’s been ten years since we lost this iconic legend. I feel like he helped so many comedians
Growing up during the late '90s and early 2000s, I can say for sure Robin Williams was one of those actors who brought huge happiness to my childhood. RIP, my dear, cause I'm forever thankful for you for bringing bright colors in my life ❤
Of course it did, that's why people remember him to this day. Happy friday afternoon, Rebecca. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Doug jones changed movie make- up industry ..he played so many creatures/aliens with top notch makeup and CGi
Andy Serkis changed the motion capture industry forever starting with gollum topped with Ceaser
Great video! I think Robin Williams changed a lot of of things but especially the voice acting game. You mentioned Eddie Murphy as Donkey but years before he played Mushu in Mulan and his character is somewhat similar Donkey. The world has been a little darker since he passed
Heard joke once:
Man goes to the doctor. He says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. He says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain.
The doctor says, 'Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up.'
Man bursts into tears.
Says, 'But doctor…I am Pagliacci.'
Good joke. Everybody laughs. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.
Biggest cosmic joke of all?
You have Lewy Body Dementia.
Cosmic has a sick sense of humor.
I will never stop missing him, he was my favorite male actor of all time. Loved him as the Genie and Mrs. Doubtfire
We still missed Mr. Robin Williams a lot…
On August 11th of this year will mark 10 years since he has passed away. I can’t believe he has been gone for 10 years already. There will never be another one like him at all. RIP Robin Williams.
I remember seeing "Aladdin" when it was first released in a theater in NYC. It was nearly sold out and the audience, kids and adults, just howled with laughter. ❤️
But it was a 80 minute movie in perfection
I loved him as Batty in Fern Gully, too! RIP Mr. Williams.
It's been ten years since we all lost the Legend himself: Robin Williams, and he definitely and certainly left behind a Great Legacy of Fantastic and Memorable characters, like the Hilarious Genie from *Disney's Aladdin.* God Bless Robin Williams's Soul. 🤲🛐📿🙏😇👼🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Robin Williams was one of the greatest voice acting celebrities I've ever seen
RIP Robin Williams! Robin will always be an icon and an inspiration to me. I just can't believe that he's no longer with us and always be a gut punch that he's gone.
Robin Williams as the Genie in the classic animated film Aladdin was my first introduction to him and he has had special place in my heart especially since his death I miss so much every time I watch him this and in some of the many films he has been in 👍❤️😢
He's the king 👑 of hearts, amazing human RIP 🙏🏼
Yes 🙌 of course he changed the animation game
Robin Williams made voice acting so amazing. His voice was so funny in Aladdin , robots , night at the museum, and other films he did . I miss him after 10 years.
❤P😮R MR ROBIN WILLIAMS, he changed the 🌎 WORLD ,for the worst ,when he left it! still left with dat " Oh RANGE CLOWN in the U,S, eh😮
Super fun!
Ever since I first watched Aladdin, I've been trying to perfectly match Robin's performance. TWENTY FIVE YEARS LATER, I STILL CAN'T GET IT RIGHT! He is my idol as I try to become a comedian myself, and I've been told by many people that I should pursue voice acting... IDK, but I do know that Robin changed the landscape of comedy movies, voice acting, sitcoms, and stand up comedy entirely. RIP King Williams! You'll always be loved and remembered!❤
Robin Williams did more than just change the animation game. He touched all of us with his humor, his wit, and his love. We lost a true treasure and no one can fill the hole he left behind. Rest well, Mr. Williams, and find the peace you couldn't during your time here.
RIP Robin Williams. I never really thought about it before but he really did change the world of voice acting to let actors in their own right become the voice of our newest beloved characters
He certainly changed the TV entertainment world for the better. Especially when he added his own funny and loving antics of jokes into his works. Rest in peace Robin Williams. You are missed everywhere.
He was part of my childhood. Even in Death, I still hear his voice every day. RIP Robin Williams. 😢
Robin, you were a brave and wonderful soul. Thank you for so many years of joy.
So much stock is put into Aladdin but it was actually FernGully: The Last Rainforest that came out first in April of 92' well before the November release of Aladdin that even had Robin Williams as a voiced character, along with Tim Curry, Christian Slater, Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong. Celebrities had been used as voice actors long before either of these, just take All Dogs Go To Heaven for example. That starred Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, Charles Nelson Reilly and Loni Anderson just to name a few and that movie released in 1989, 3 years before either Aladdin or FernGully. Aladian was just the first one that made a ton of money so it gets credit as being the game changer but was it, or was it just following what was already becoming a thing in the industry for years? There are countless examples of animated movies in the 80's having 1 or 2 major actors as voiced characters which is exactly what Aladdin did. There are only a few notable stars in the voice cast, Robin Williams and Gilbert Gottfried being the 2 real standouts, compared to what you'd see today.
If I could say one thing to him, it would be… thank you for giving me great characters for my childhood.
We all lost a piece of us when he died.
#rip
Gone but never forgotten! He lives on tho these characters
Very very great fun list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤
Williams also had limits about Genie, he never wanted to be used as a marketing tool which obviously Disney didn’t listen to him
In memory of Robin Williams, and spiritually this influenced new iconic celebrity voice actors like Josh Gad and most likely others that has become now iconic energetic voice actors including Chris Pratt, Seth Macfarlene, and even James Corden in a sense when giving the right roles (even potentially hand drawn animated characters that can be loved), makes certain sense?
Robin Williams changed everything he touched. He is sorely missed.
I think Robin Williams changed everything.
Oh yes. Robin Williams changed the landscape of voice acting forever!!! Look at the evidence: a lot of cinema actors saw the potential to voice in animated films and see the fun in doing it. Jeremy Irons is a great example plus Eartha Kitt, James Earl Jones, Kevin Kline, Tom Hanks and Demi Moore, to name a few.
I believe he did. He showed how it could be evolved, into a greater experience. RIP good sir.
When I first heard how Robin Williams had passed my first thought was, "That brings a whole new meaning to: you'll never have a friend like me"
If anyone could make a lamp as charming as Genie, it would be Robin Williams.
Robin set the bar. 😢😢 i miss him 😢 😔. But he lives on through his films
He was certainly amazing
Robin Williams was the best of the best and he will ever be missed.
Robin's passing still stands as the only celebrity death that broke my heart.
Robin williams was brilliant a one of a kind talent RIP Robin
I could have sworn that Disney did something similar when they did Alice in Wonderland, at least for the tea party scene with the mad hatter and march Hare. They brought the voice actors together on a set, let them ab lib and then animated based on the results. Granted Robin Williams definitely had a great impact and technology definitely allowed them more leeway for the amount of tweaking they could do but it had sort of been done at least in regards to animators adjusting to a performance.
Robin Williams and Mel Blanc is best comedian and voice actor in out there, who over the top do different voices, can’t be replaced either, it’s actually really interesting challenging on voice actors.
Williams changed so much. He was the greatest of the great.
Aladdin is my most fave disney ever, i was brought up on old disney, sleeping beauty, snow white, robin hood, fox and hound, but watching Aladdin changed that, not the little mermaid, Aladdin is my top 1 but in recent years i watched Coco and loved it so that is my number 2 movie, im 44yrs this yr and i still love watching disney and experienced Frozen and rapunzel (love rapunzel, who could resist frozen too) and my son who i think will be forever a toy story fan x 😀
Robin Williams is truly missed ❤
Robin Williams was the G. O. A.T. for voice overs and he is sadly missed. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Rest In Peace to the legend and icon. He will always be The best he is, His the best there was and The best that ever will be. He will always be remembered.
Dont forget Scott Adkins( undisputed lead actor) changed stunt choreography / stunt performance
It's sad he be gone but not forgotten. He seem happy doing movies and anything. I wish we can help him. With his depression. I can believe it's be 10 years he be gone. It's be long time. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
RIP Robin Williams 😢
Robin Williams was a very important person he was an important person that played the genie 🧞♂️ I love him and miss him playing Mrs. Doubtfire and never got a chance to do the 2nd round love you robin williams
RIP Robin Williams his a legend
I think there is definitely a gray area to this because there are some actors who probably need to take a back seat like casting Chris Pratt in every animated movie now LOL but the brilliant ones, especially the more comedic performers like Eddie Murphy, Jack Black, and Robin Williams, can convey so much range and pitch. Billy West (man behind Fry, Prof. Farnsworth, Ren and Stimpy, so much more) had concern that live action actors are taking over the voice acting community, putting them out of a job. But I think there's a great counterargument to that when you watch things like Shrek, Aladdin, Kung Fu Panda.
Which is why subs > dubs every time when it comes to anime. They still have their specialist. I may not know the name of Thorkell's (vinland saga) voice actor, but when he popped up as a videogame character (Adachi) in Like a Dragon i immediately went oh shit that's Thorkell.
Over here in America, we have Chris Pratt as Mario when the actual voice actor for Mario in the games was just a cameo in the film
My mom a year before Robin. 2013 / 2014 was a tough time
He was great as Batty Koda in FernGully also.
Robin Williams died 10 years ago but we still miss him 😥
love robin williams
RIP 😟
Amen.

How I Helped Popularize Japanese Properties In America before the phenomenon that was Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (1993-1995;2010) my TV run started with Fox Network hit Cops (1989-2020;2021) after that was long running animated series The Simpsons (1989-) but after I rammed my head Immitating Superman while watching Lois and Clark The New Adventures Of Superman and gotten stitches for the Bleeding I was on the Brink but one afternoon my TV was on this Saved By The Bell looking show I watched thinking It was going to get cancelled but to my surprise It became a lifesaver completing the holy trinity of '90s shows being the Ducktales of the Fox Kids block even surpassing it after Haim Saban sold Fox Family Worldwide to Disney In 2001 this show opened the floodgate for Japanese Imports Including Sailor Moon Dragon Ball Z Pokemon Digimon Yugioh Naruto and One Piece to name some of the many
Liar
Yet because of him studios will lean on the crutch of casting veteran voice talents & big name actors as opposed to taking new chances with new talent
I've been hearing other narrators doing Ms Mojo and I don't like it at all.
I like this voice!!
Body language acting back then 9th grade and performance arts to my name is Heather ha
Yes. After Aladdin actors started to do more voice work for animated productions.
1992 changed everything
😢😢
Robin Williams was an talented comedian and actor but the best cartoon voice over he's on there with Mel Blanc,Daws Butler,Lennie Weinrib,Eddie Murphy,Phil Hartman,Frank Welker,Jim Cummings,Kevin Michael Richardson,Rob Paulsen,Patrick Warburton,Tom Kenny,Eric Bauza and Jim Carrey are also iconic.
Where's Tom Kenny, Jeff Bennett, Carlos Alzarqui, Daran Norris and Don Messick ?
@@lexkanyima2195 I said Tom Kenny.
I never picked up on that before - look at the shadow of the Genie's hand at 3:42. It's a dog!
Sometimes I miss the old voice actors, so many "real" actors don't have the range to get all the emotions across in animation.
"I do voices." - Robin Williams.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!!
Most actors have voices that are unremarkable when it comes to voiceovers. Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Michael Myers have this amazing talent. Many movies use well known actors but the results are average, less well knowns would be better and less costly.
Im gonna go ahead and pitch a Robin Williams Month for you guys. Pick a character or two per day, give us BTS, back story, and any other tidbits worthy of Mojo.
I don't think "changed" is the right word. I would go with "enhanced". The animation style used for Robin paved the way for recognized actors to actually act the part and then have the animators march their acting.
You forgot to mention how Robin Williams helped push for better salaries for voice actors! Disney’s Jeffrey Katzenberg lied to Robin Williams about his royalties, and felt betrayed by Disney, but he made amends with Disney once Jeffrey Katzenberg was ousted and started DreamWorks Animation! Williams would never do a Dreamworks film because of Katzenberg, who he consider him an enemy for paying voice actors low salaries!
In my opinion, Buena Vista should have always been called Touchney even in the 80s.
❤❤❤❤
💖💝💖
He was the best 😢
