Remember that the fruit tree wonder does not provide fruit of any kind.. I suggest acquiring some extra watermelon trees before using a bunch of them to get the wonder, because otherwise you're losing most of your best source of coins! ^.^

I saved up gems and when I had enough watermelons trees I only merged three even though I had six trees. I used the gems to unlock the dimensional jar for the wonder so I have two of them! They spit out big life flowers so that’s been awesome!
1. Tried that long ago. 2. Merge Dragons should have oak, fir, spruce, plum, acacia, palms, redwood, catkins, dragon trees, being able to battle with friends with your dragons and more sophisticated " objects." Just a thought to share.

Angie Strasser you get more coins initially but if you are actually looking to get lots of coins then merging them up is better! I do both depending on whether or not I am focused on getting coins or not!
A watermelon is only worth 25 coin when you sell it. If harvested, it'll generate either a gold or silver coin. It takes 520 silver coins to merge up to 2 tiaras, which are worth 50k combined. Selling 520 watermelons nets you 13K coin. 13k is 26% of 50k. Harvesting watermelons and merging the coins produces about 400% (4 times) more coin then simply selling the fruit.

ok understand the concept of what you are doing here but why not just sell the fruit? You get a lot more coin that way.
