Something I'd love to hear you speak about because of these videos are the prevented calamities of Shinryu and Black Rose, both being the planned unleashing of the calamity of light that never came thanks to our efforts. Shinryu being stopped via Papalymo's sacrifice and Minfilia halting the Flood of Light, and I don't need to state how Black Rose went considering haha

Really learning a lot from these vids. Specifically from this particular video about the Autumn War. I heard of it briefly during the Bard quests, but didn't really look too much into it. Gotta say, Ala Mhigo got messed up XD

thank you for clarifying something that's been bugging me, i was wondering if we played during the 7th umbal era, or if we had progressed into the 7th astral era
Yup! 2.0 begins in the 7th Umbral Era but eventually moves into the 7th Astral Era after Base ARR is done.

Thank you Scribe, the lessons covering the different astral eras have been my favorite lessons so far. The 5th era I find the most intriguing, but I'm curious, while studying the different astral and umbral era's, did you have a favorite one to study and learn about? Or were they all fascinating to study in their different ways?
Honestly, every Era is interesting for different reasons. But if I had to pick an Era I wish I knew more about, it'd be the 5th Astral Era. So many civilizations with their own magically driven societies were lost to the floods. You need not look any further than "The Drowned City of Skalla" for proof of this. But every Astral Era has it's own pros/cons, and lessons to take from them.

@@SynodicScribe I look forward to that lesson. Another lesson I would like to request, You've talked about the history of Ul'dah, and mentioned the Syndicate. You talked about certain members in other lessons like Godbert, but I would love to learn about every member of the Syndicate. Lolorito, Teledji, Dewlala, Fyrgeiss, Raubahn, and even more info on Godbert if you can find it. How each member rose up in power to earn their seat on the Syndicate. And what their ultimate goal/achievements are/were.
Are you planning on making lectures on dungeons and how they relate to the history of the star?
I have actually! Kinda like doing walkthroughs of the dungeon, explaining its history as I go.

If 7th calamity is astral charge and 8th being umbral charge like currently, does that mean if there ever is a 9th calamity, it’s going to be both astral and umbral charge? It certainly would an even disaster than previous calamities unless it’s impossible for both elements to co exist during rejoining
Honestly, I really don't wanna find out how nasty the last remaining calamities might have gotten. xD
EW lore would be the perfect time to take that hood off and show us your archon tattoo, we all know you're secretly a Sharlayan coming to teach us.
Another fantastic lore video, though one thing, we know that the 8th Calamity was going to be Astrally charged. It is my belief that the 7th was intended as a fire calamity. Bahamut and Dalamud raining down fire and destruction through a combination of Terraflares, Gigaflares, and the falling meteorites which caused enormous explosions visible behind mountain ranges. It can also be argued it was a calamity of Earth as the landscape of Eorzea was forever changed, and had Dalamud fully crashed into the planet would have caused a much more widespread change to the landscape of the planet.
If I was an archon I'd have access to their libraries and research material. That'd be nice.....
I still don't understand why a void of darkness or light can't be rejoined. The actual process of over-aspecting a shard to force it to return seems to be exactly what creating a void would enable... Can't find a satisfying reason for this. And if the 13th was 'lost' why can we still visit it as the World of Darkness? So confusing.
My rationalization is that the 13th was over-aspected to Astral/Dark without a matching imbalance being triggered in the Source at the same time, and reached some kind of critical point without its aether having anywhere to escape to at the time, and is now somehow locked in its current state pending further research and action by the Ascians. Or maybe the process that turned the 13th into the Void is somehow fundamentally different from the aethiric imbalance at the root of a Rejoining? perhaps it is not simply over-aspected to Dark but somehow corrupted in a more complex manner. (havent started Endwalker yet, no clue if this is answered there somehow, if it is don't tell me lol)

The end was good especially haha tho it sounded like you're trying to provoke us into summoning a primal like entity with the emphasis on certain words :p but would a primal that could give us a brighter future than what history teaches us might be an otherwise inevitable umbral calamity be so bad? Every entity that summoned a primal before also felt just and right in their belief. Be careful friend!
And now birds are flying into the lecture hall. I'll have to make sure plumage is cleaned up along with the Hrothgar and Miqo'te fluff.

Do we know anything about what happened in the 7th shard?
It was rejoined of course. We wouldn't have had a calamity if that didn't happen. If you're referring to the nature of its astrally aligned destruction, I've no clue.
@@SynodicScribe I'm referring to what events happened to the people within the shard. It seems like little is known about what actually goes down in these other worlds, other than that they coordinate with an element upon rejoining.
All shards have altered versions of people from the source, right? Just like we know the 1st does in Shadowbringers?
@@gigamear Yup, there own worlds living their own lives, until a rejoining causes an apocalypse, causing the world and all people on it to die as it rejoins with the source. This has happened 7 times.

the flip flop of astral and umbral that they explain in ShB causes me some confusion with the alignment of the 7th calamity. Wasn't it umbraly charged, and the 8th supposed to be astral?

Why of course the 6 era in ff14 lore the era that almost put Square Enix on bankruptcy and almost ruined the Final Fantasy series at least in the 7th era it was reborn into a new and changed almost everything and I certainly love this version do it would be nice to go back to those nostalgic days I guess the closest thing to that is ff11

The 6th Umbral Calamity was the Calamity of Water that flooded the world. Followed by the 7th Calamity, which was Bahamut's rampage.
