There was this popular over the counter medication in nazi Germany and it was basically meth in pill form, it was good for increasing productivity and a large part of the German population was already addicted to them. So guess what happened, they included it in the rations.

Great seeing you having some fun haha, smoked an 80 year old cigarette myself. Tabacco really used to be a lot less harsh and more tea or chocolate flavored back then. But don't do it kids! it is the most addictive drug there is.
This is just my second video and I've got to say that you guys are entertaining. Also like the fact that you don't give a damn what the contemporary Nazi might have to say about smoking . . . the dreaded tobacco Nazi. I just quit after about 55 years of smoking and I enjoyed you all enjoying some smokes not too many years older than me. Don't do anything you don't enjoy and, frankly, I enjoyed a cigarette. My late Great Grandfather was part of the Normandy invasion on D-Day. I have a cigarette case he brought back from Salzburg. He lived until my early 20's but I rarely thought to talk to him about the war until it was too late. Pertaining to this video I used to be a smoker so I am TOTALLY interested in knowing what these taste like.

My dad lived his day In the 70s (uk) as a young lad he went to the doctors saying he was stressed. The doctors told him to go get a pack of cigs. On the 2nd of August 2020 he lost his life to COPD. he never knew he would end up like that. I'm sad my dad is now a statistic. But life is life and we can't always control it. Best wishes to everyone.

Meth Fact: Meth actually doesn't cause any psychical addiction only mental addiction so for what it's worth it wasn't necessarily a horrible idea , and meth is still prescribed for a few health conditions . If used correctly its not a bad drug as is the case with most drugs . The main issue imo is abuse and contaminants caused by byproducts of making it improperly . Of those two issues only abuse was a issue for soldiers since we can assume that the meth was made properly and not by a non educated Tyrone cooking it in a bathtub....Edited typo.

What a Lucky Strike ... I remember Chesterfields and Camels advertised they were blended with Turkish tobacco, so it probably is a fairly good smoke, but aged tobacco I know not. I haven't smoked in decades but what I remember most about Camels and Chesterfield is they had a cigar like flavor to them.

I've given up smoking, but I must say those cigarettes look very tempting. They were surely of good quality. Even when I started smoking back in the day, cigarettes were of a much higher quality than they are today. Today, the only thing that is high is the price of them! I should add that I am rather surprised that those cigarettes are still smokeable after all this time! When I smoked, I found that the best place to store cigarettes in order to keep them fresh for as long as possible was in the freezer. That's a trick I learnt many years ago whilst working in the Middle East, where, due to the hot dry weather, tobacco dries out very quickly if left in the open air.

Smoking has a protective effect against Alzheimer's too. It help keep obesity at bay, and also diabetes. In my experience, smokers are often much nicer, happier people than non-smokers, especially those with an anti-smoking bird.
There is a lot to be said for the health benefits of pleasure. A happy person invariably lives longer than a miserable one.
I quite smoking two and a quarter years ago. I cannot say that I feel healthier; and I certainly don't feel happier. Nicotine has very many superb health benefits. Check them out on Google!

Excellent video! Very dark tabacco, looks good. I'd smoke one of those cigarettes. My Dad was a soldier in the German Wehrmacht and he never smoked back then. He started smoking during the 1950s and was a heavy smoker up until his heart attack in 1997. He never smoked after his heart attack.

i’ll be honest, in the military you learn a few things. one of those things is that even if you don’t smoke, carry a pack of cigarettes cause it can be use to barter or befriend someone. smoking with the iraqis was interesting (edit: cigars work as well🤤🙃)
