You can say "sieve" as in, I sieved the flour. At least that's how we say it here in the UK. We call that a sieve so when you put flour or something through it, you "sieve it". Love the recipe, thanks from Oxford, England

We do say seive in the UK as well as sift but sift is specifically for separation of dry ingredients by size not wet and dry. C

Good evening family, I found this very interesting. I’ve never put egg in mine. Just sugar,, cornmeal, self rising flour and brown sugar.🌼🌼 I love them both!!❤️❤️❤️
Just returned from my first trip to Jamaica 🇯🇲 absolutely loved it. Had Festival for the first time,it was Amazing. Now I'm going to try to make my own😊. Wish me luck.😊

Yes, that's what it seems like to me too. I don't know all ingredients, but I know it's flour, cornmeal, sugar and mix with hot water.
Yes. Exactly the same thing.
yes TJ, festival has the same ingredients as hot water cornbread (bread) . major difference: instead of ice cold water used here, we use boiling hot water.
