It’s amazing the quality that third party makers have brought to the hobby, and I do hope that they’re able to influence companies like Hasbro and Disney to produce better products.
Or, inspire solid competitors, like Dart Zone to Hasbro’s Nerf line.

For as much as the saber will undoubtedly cost, especially as a haslabs item, Id expect it to spin - not even necessarily very fast. Some small machine shop will eventually make a higher quality one that spins, so I'll save my money for that.

Where'd you get that information from? Of course they all bloody spin. That's the entire idea behind that ring around them (which this one CLEARLY has)
lol you cant make it spin and light up with what they use. The blades controls and lights would have to be separate from the handle.
I thought it was going to spin I was like "well I need to see how the heck they put that kind of technology into this" but still, it's really cool! I just thought it was going to be a crazy new technology lightsaber toy to spin like the show lol

@@Equalsundew LIterally the only inquisitor whose Lightsaber "doesn't" spin is the Tenth Brother's, as he preffers to split his in half and use one on each hand, but it 100% can spin when they're both attached to each other.

It's a plastic prototype that's to be made of metal. Of course it's weaker.
This one is a light plastic prototype. The F/X Elite sabers are metal, but they won't make this one "for real" until it's backed.

Hmm. I’m somewhat upset with that lightsaber. I had thought that at the very least the rings fold, but you have to remove one half of the ring? Seems odd when they could have easily just made it actually fold. This is a multi-million company, but 3rd party lightsaber makers are able to make better hilts 😂

Custom sabers can definitely get a bit pricy, but. They blow anything from hasbro out of the water.

@@Equalsundew Same. I asked someone why they buy Hasbro and Disney stuff, and they say because it’s the “official” merchandise. But imo if I’m paying $2-$500 then I’d rather pay for quality and features, and any 3rd party lightsaber is usually something you can actually swing around and dual with, something you can’t do with Hasbro/Disney

@@Equalsundew if your looking for Inquisitor style Lightsabers, Dark Wolf Sabers just released their Grand Inquisitor version. I bought their $500 tier which is meant for actual dueling. It’s the same price as this Hasbro saber but the quality is 👌

Reva saber is one of the coolest sabers in SW. the half circle the spin the single and double blade and it becomes two. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

i saw this show up on my notifications and thought it was a typo meaning revan light saber because i didn't see the thumbnail. 100% picking this one up
And it even comes with asymmetrical weight sagging. Love when my saber is limp! Lol
But this lightsaber doesn't seem to be split in two like in the show.....If it can be divided into two, then you can play the second knife flow
For $499 this should be able to do the spin effect. Nothing special as is, easy pass.

A $20 kid's toy figured out a system. I'm not saying it would be easy in this footprint but for this being a special haslab project that costs this much money, I expect more.
The only reason this even exists is because Disney is pushing it super hard. A character three episodes old and they have a prototype. Not even the Razor Crest got that treatment.

@@groorg24 that inquisitor Saber design has been around long before the 3d sister. It first appeared in 2014 in rebels. So it's not exactly a new design or anything.
I really want more vehicles. I have the Boba throne room set on preorder but for the money you can get a much better quality saber online. Seems like a cool concept but feels like a lost opportunity for something "special" you cant buy anywhere else etc.
The rancor never got made, dont see this getting made over that.
I think this has a better chance. The saber appeals to more of the fan base where the rancor is limited to the action figure part.
I pre-ordered 2 but I hope it comes oit better thatn this prototype, which im.sure it will. The Saber looks a little loose and crooked
They're going to fudge the numbers this go around, they can't have two failures in a row can they? I think this has a very limited market. The OT fans generally don't know or care what an inquisitor is, they're there for Obi-Wan it IS his show after all. This is just Disney pushing their politics and onto hasbro. Keep in mind this is a new character, three episodes old and they already have a prototype for a Haslab. They're all "fans" apparently and this was at the top of their list to be the next Haslab project under the SW license? Disney isn't pushing this at all! $400 for a proton pack or $500 for a lightsaber...I know where my money is ...went.

The Spengler Proton Pack was backed in record time, so I doubt this will reach it's goal by the cutoff date.
@@groorg24 Reva is new, but this lightsaber design has been common to all Inquisitors, and was already in other series and comics since at least 2015. AFAIK, it's the first time we see it in live-action so it makes sense for Hasbro to do it now.
Hopefully, they do what they did with the force fx maul. Sell half of the saber but in the elite format.

Goes against what a haslab should be. I though haslab was for those items not really able to be sold in stores. Darth Mauls black series saber was sold in stores as 2 separate items that could be combined to make the double ender. Couldn’t this have been treated the same?

Yeah buy a proffie neopixel saber instead cheaper does more smooth swing any color and many sound fonts for far cheaper.

It does have LED lights in the blade, but i's not nearly as nicely made as a REAL neopixel saber.

This wouldn’t work at retail why? The Rancor that failed wouldn’t work at retail why? The cost is what makes these projects fail, not retail stores.
My only problem with HasLab and Hasbro Pulse has always been that they aren’t international. If you’re not in the US or UK you can’t get the exclusives or back any of the HasLab stuff. It’s disappointing to have to get this cool stuff off the secondary market with scalper prices.

cool a collectible, but pricewise Hasbro needs to step up their game. If they are going to charge the amount an aftermarket company charges usually for their neopixel/xenopixel sabers than Hasbro is losing.
The individuals who choose what the haslab project is do not listen to fans in the slightest. Absolutely nobody was asking for this.
Yet its had backers....

See, I love Haslab but with lightsabers they're... frankly kinda shit.
They've always been about 10 steps behind unofficial prop makers.
Brighter blades, better sound, more accurate hilts, better weathering on hilts, colour swaps, full customisation, duel ready sabers, thicker or thinner blades and now even neopixel blades.
All lf these things are rarely seen on the official blades and if they are, they are rarely executed as well.
Black Series makes awesome props and even if they aren't as accurate as some fanmade things they are often a cheaper alternative that can still be made more screen accurate with a few touchups.
But this... nah it's straight up a worse product for a similar price.
I don’t understand how this is ANYONES dream project honestly I think Reva is pretty cool and I’ll reserve judgement on if the series is a disaster until after it ends. But a dream project is like a 1/12 scale X Jet or danger room for me id imagine it would be any of the 100 beautiful ship designs star wars has but what do I know d

I find it kind of an insult that instead of using the grand inquisitor, who I personally felt was a very well done villain in rebels, they used a new random character who while interesting thus far has existed for literally less than a month (unless I missed something which is always possible). To clarify what I mean, I'm fairly certain she was never in any comics or graphic novels as Reva. I can't even recall the third sister appearing but as I said, it's entirely possible I missed something. Just feels weird to skip over the character with more established history
A joke and laughable character
I find it insulting that people think that instead of making a new character that is written to fit in the show thematically and we don't know their fate the writers should have just reused another villain who can't go on a character arc and has no stakes because we know he lives. I find it insulting as a star wars fan that other fans whine about new characters being created instead of just recycling old ones.

I actually like Reva and I think what they did with her character is genius and I find it pretty refreshing honestly. I do however think it's a bit odd to take a BRAND NEW character when you already have pre-established characters, it feels like ignoring the source material and instead using some using someone's head cannon to write canonical material

This shouldn’t have even been a Haslab item. It just feels like another lightsaber that they would’ve sold in stores under the lightsaber line they have going. Just don’t think this would take precedent over something like a Tantive ship or something cooler than this.

Hold my beer. So, lets have a standard lightsaber hilt and at the top of the hilt is a ball kinda like the training remote that has a bunch of random holes in it, when you ignite the light saber the blade randomly spawns out of one of the random holes.
It never made sense other than looking different and becoming a helicopter, which also makes zero sense. Not that a lightsaber makes sense either, but being able to fly like a helicopter is jumping the shark.

My issue here is that $500 is too much for too little. It’s a base-lit blade made with some mid-quality plastic. I would agree with the price if the blade was a high-quality neopixel. There isn’t even smooth-swing with the saber, which is another issue. Rn this is only worth $200-300.
I would’ve rather preferred a Darth Vader Force FX Elite Lightsaber.
There was a leak a few days ago about a Vader elite saber, much better than this one
