Most replacement sliding door handles only come with 2 inch bolts that are too long. Go to a hardware store and buy the smallest washers: No. 6 Stainless. Two washers on the two bolts should secure the inside and outside doors flush to the door frame.
There are a few ways to make this work but just make sure that everything is tight. Thanks for watching!!!!
How do I fix the handle if the screw holes are blown out and the handle fell off because of it?
If the threads are stripped, you can try using bigger screws and forcing it but I would recommend a new handle. Thanks for watching!
My door is locked and I can't get it unlocked. I took the handles off, and have tried to jiggle the lock with a screwdriver, but I still can't get it unlocked! I need to be able to open it!
Mary Roux you should be able to unlock it by using a screwdriver, I’d keep trying that. If that does not work try to reattach the handle and attempt to unlock it that way. Good luck!
@@Mr.Fix_RC I did manage to get it unlocked by spraying everything down good with WD40, so it's fixed as well as I can fix it myself. I'll use boards to keep it shut from now on.
So..... the moral, is don't buy cheap stuff?? Good video though, Thanks.
