I became close friends with a Puerto Rican girl in middle school and I told my Mexican parents that I became good friends with a Latina girl. They were really excited because I’ve always been shy and soft spoken and asked me what ethnicity she was and when I said she’s Puerto Rican they both immediately darted their eyes to each other 😅
I personally am not that feisty but the reason why many of us act like that is because in our culture there is something called machismo or being machista and to this day, many of our men still act like this. They're sexist af (not all of them but a good handful are) and so that leaves us Latin women to become more resilient and tough and as a result, it becomes "feisty". It's not that easy to date or marry us unless the guy is also tough enough to handle our temperament lol. We're kinda similar to black and Russian women.
Just Latinas in general because this applies to Mexican women too. In my case, living with two of them gave me so much trauma that I can't date Latinas lol

Just because our culture is different from yours doesn't make it any less valid. We like being with friends, family, and loved ones ALL THE TIME. We like to experience everything together and talk about it together. Once again, it sounds like arguing and whatnot but it's not. To mouse and many other Latin cultures, this was not an argument. This was a passionate conversation.
