world class video and lesson on soldering. one small suggestion. when you remove wires from motherboard/circuit board show close up of how to remove those wires. other than that, a world class video.. thanks bunch... Bob
tip number one, do not use the tool to remove the digitizer on the left hand side of screen if camera is at top of device facing you, you will sever the cables there very easily if not carful. I saw like 4 videos on RUclips not one showed this possibility so I had no idea to watch out for these cables here. thanks apple for the awesome engineering, I've never seen an android designed like this... good thing I stopped buying apple years ago back when I first realized it was like 3 times the price of PC but with 3 times the restrictions for repairs and customization, this is just a project for a friend, unfortunately its going to dip like 25-30 bucks into my profits for a replacement digitizer though.

Hey there, may I know what are the pins on the top half for? I ripped about 40% of them as I was removing the board from the housing. (the double side tape used was tremendous) I slide the spudger down the wrong location. Hoping that the board is salvageable.

I too wish you would have started from very beginning for us tech challenged dummies. I wouldn’t attempt to do this myself if not for not wanting to be without my iPad for the time to have it professionally repaired. I’ll probably end up messing something up and making it worse...and what is ipa?
