Cool images. Just got my Insta360 One X2 a few weeks ago. Been using it only for video, but the next thing is to try those photo modes. Do you have any solutions for the audio? I have the Mic Adapter, but the sound is not very good. Really muddy. For vlogging, separate audio can be used of course, but the workflow is a bit slow. Then there is always the possibility of error not pressing the audio record button.
Between the one x2 and one r, could you answer, 1: could you get good results filming an interview/podcast with 360? 2: when would I ever use the 4k instead of focusing the 360 view?

I never see you using a tablet when taking, processing or showing off your work. So I wondered if a higher storage capacity&bigger screened phone would be a more useful purchase?
Great vids. What's the video quality and photo quality really like? RUclips can be decieving with artifacting and stream quality. My old Gp7b footage looked SO much better until I put it on RUclips. Ben can you ask the One X2 company why they don't make the Shot Lab editing features available on the desktop and Phone App software ? Will they ever do it in the future ? I am trying to learn to edit vids on my phone and its not going so well. I miss using the desktop editor so much.

But you use Pureshot to compare it to the other cameras. I'm curious if you could do a comparison where you take the "sharpest" mode for each camera (even if it uses a different (longer) workflow).

Hey Ben, I ordered the ONE X2 before Christmas, should arrive early in the New Year. You have inspired me to take it to the QVB - it is a great subject. When the first version of the ONE X was discontinued I was hugely disappointed because I love the skinny form factor. The ONE R doesn’t attract me so much. I was very happy when the “2” version was released. Thank you for your inspiration to lead me into my own 360 journey. We are both fortunate that Sydney is very photogenic to make the most of these great cameras.

Thanks very great Video. I upgraded to the X2 from the X1 especially for the new Audio Modul. That was not possible with the X. Also I find the Display a big big thing. No more fiddeling arround with mobile phones to check if you are in the right mode or fast check the angle.

Can you confirm the Pureshot at 1:39 is a HDR Raw file created from 9 bracketed HDR Raw. I notice Pureshot process the photo much shorter time than HDR 9. If Pureshot is a Raw created from what you commented, than what's the difference with HDR 9?

Last video you are right it is not big upgrade from one r, just in little things that if you didn't buy camera before , but not for people who already buy One R , if only they more photos about they must be unlike to be hurry in past ...so it is always things it is good that new and newer comes cameras
Does the Insta360 One X2 use Flowstate stabilization in Intervalometer 360 photos mode to do horizon lock? I currently use the Insta360 One X in video mode for Google Street View because video mode does horizon lock, and photo mode doesn’t. But extracted photos from video mode are much lower quality than photo mode for Google Street View. If the Insta360 One X2 does photo horizon lock, then I can go back to using photo mode without the time consuming leveling processing I was doing.

Hi Ben, ok....been racking my brains on this...how do I get anything other than equirectangular RAW (dng?) images? I can process in the phone app and snapshot as a jpg. I can import into Studio and snaphot as jpg or export as equirectangular DNG but what if I want to say frame a tiny planet photo then process that as RAW/DNG? I use Mac and Lightroom but open to whatever it takes. Really appreciate any help, cheers mate.

Great review, despite not being filthy rich and already owning the oneX I took the plunge and bought the onex2. I've been very happy with the improvements in the photo mode. One question to the community, has anyone had issues with the stick on lens protectors and video stitching? I have found this to be incredibly poor. (Bought the lens guards as I've damaged 1 too many cameras 😔)

Hi thanks for the very informative video. But I still don't understand what exactly is the difference between HDR, night mode and pureshot. They all seem to be sort of multi exposure mode, but what is the exact difference in how they are made? Pureshot indeed seems to have best dynamic range, specially in highlights. But in your examples I seen some pretty extreme color and compression artefacts (in pureshot mode only). I did not hear you adress it.

Hi Ben. I always enjoy your videos so many thanks for doing them. I have an EVO but would like to view the videos in VR running from my laptop. Unfortunately due to the size of my EVO videos the stitching takes many, many hours and the file size is absolutely huge! It is impractical 😢. Is there a good 360 camera that has an output that is automatically stitched together and in a recognised format eg mp4? Or am I stuck with many hours of stitching and huge files with all cameras? Is there a solution if you mount 2x Insta360x2 next to each other (7cm distance) and get a 360 ° picture in 3D or a video from it? So quasi real "all-round 3D", not a virtual one like Matterport Of course, the app cannot combine files from two Insta-Cams mounted next to each other :-(

Unfortunetly this review is complete mess and misiformation. PureShot is AI future and has nothing to do with 9 bracketed HDR.
Why One R doesn't have the PureShot mode? Is there any technical limitation or.. just a bad business practice from Insta360?
it does have it, I use it :) 4k mod and also the 1" Leica mod (maybe you need to download the latest firmware)

You can but you'll likely see the tripod when taking the 360 shot.

Hi Ben. I always enjoy your videos so many thanks for doing them. I have an EVO but would like to view the videos in VR running from my laptop. Unfortunately due to the size of my EVO videos the stitching takes many, many hours and the file size is absolutely huge! It is impractical 😢. Is there a good 360 camera that has an output that is automatically stitched together and in a recognised format eg mp4? Or am I stuck with many hours of stitching and huge files with all cameras? Do you have a tutorial on exporting photos from insta360 studio? It seems pretty straightforward, but when I export the image it comes out in the panoramic flatten view. Please help!

In Australia it's very common for people to raise a small group of farm animals and raise them in the back yard, even when you're living in the city. Ben probably hasn't soundproofed his room well enough so you're just hearing his animals during his recording.

Is there a solution if you mount 2x Insta360x2 next to each other (7cm distance) and get a 360 ° picture in 3D or a video from it? So quasi real "all-round 3D", not a virtual one like Matterport
Of course, the app cannot combine files from two Insta-Cams mounted next to each other :-(
