Love this video - it showcases Bosque del Apache well. The artful approach if stills and videos and great music make watching this very enjoyable, while also learning from your text overlays. Well done, Mick!! Thank you for allowing us to share this in our video gallery.
Wow, what a great video. Thank you Mick for taking the time to name the different birds but also to show the difference between the species. Really appreciate that.
This was so helpful for planning our upcoming visit. The comparison and labeling you featured were great and helped me know what to look for. Thanks so much!
I got a taste of all that just before thanksgiving walking my dog along the Bosque farther north - Bernalillo. Made a killer video with the Sandia Mountain as my backdrop to the geese flying and honking overhead.

Sand cranes are protected. When hunting duck along the Bosque just south of Albuquerque decades ago, a siren going off meant sand cranes were in the air. Hunters were required to empty their shotguns.
When I first heard about Bosque several years ago, I started watching RUclips videos............watching every one that I could find. Yours is far and away the best that I've seen. Great photography and very professionally produced. My wife and I went there the week before Festival of the Cranes in 2016. Plenty of birds, but nothing like December. I followed the weather reports for December, and best I remember, you had great weather..........without freezing blizzards. Don't know why you haven't had more viewers.
This is amazing, I live in Las Cruces, and its 4:00 am in the morning and I hear a bird singing very beautifully and I had heard this species sing before but, why only at night? I have been looking to see if I could find a photo of this bird and the beautiful sounds of her singing. I also wanted more information on this paticular bird species.
