What are your thoughts, pastor David please?
A very SAD Psalm, a very hard Psalm to appreciate, portraying a picture often NOT seen. It paints a rosy picture of a happy, materially successful lovely life, but not reality. Paul, even Jesus himself was not wealthy, prosperous and both died in difficult circumstances, like many, many believers. Yes, it also talked about graciousness, compassion and righteousness. Godly people often don't see their enemies 'vexed' or defeated, rather they're laughed at and lambasted. The wicked prosper and laugh in derision. It may only be for a while and eternity will tell a different story however this Psalm is talking about the life now on earth.
The only hope it portrays is Jesus; gracious compassionate, righteous, just who we can trust steadfastly, enduring for ever.
