The idea for this scene came about..when Stan was out with his wife..and friends at a nightclub..and he began to fool around with a heavy metal ashtray that looked like one of those metal tubs..that gangsters put their victims into..with quick hardening cement..prior to throwing them into the drink.
Even though it happened to Shemp. I mean Shemp Howard did it when he got his feet in the tub of cement in "Love at first Bite" (1950).@@kevins.butler3402
