Nice one Ian, you did go the extra mile on the pins there. About the cable ties, try soaking them in a bucket of water over night. Just got back from the UK last night, got another Kymco and 1/2 a dozen brakes. Say hi to Jenny and as always be lucky.
Can you tell me what did they do to this scooter to make those wires melt? Is that a recurring problem with this scooter? I was thinking of getting one.
I've seen melted connects before from loose negative battery connections and another case recently where a guy brought in a scooter (ZT8) that he had replaced the batteries with Lithium ones and melted the battery connector on the floorboard of the scooter. I can only tell you what the guy that brought the scooter in told me. He said the owner of this scooter was at the top of the weight capacity and really abused the scooter by continually driving it beyond its capabilities. My suspicions are they were rentals as they had Air Tags attached to them and show all the signs of rental abuse and lack of maintenance, but I can't prove that.
Love the name! Rates all depend on the difficulty of the job, for instance replacing a fuse or a speed dial knob I don't know how you charge an hourly rate for that? For the power connector, again depending on how damaged it is and what other work is being involved.
@@lasvegasscooterslifts Thanks!! I guess I was wondering at what point does fixing become so expensive that it's not worth it to fix? If you charge like my car mechanic, seems 3-5 hours would make it tough to justify the cost to repair most basic scooters. Plus some of the parts prices you mentioned!
@@scootercowboy I tell my repair customers if it is worth repairing or not which most of the time it's not and it's down to them if they choose to repair or replace.

Thanks Clive, Glad you had a good trip brother, you can never have enough brakes or breaks from work either 😁 Jeny Says Hi to you both 🙋♀️

Love your videos! Just out of curiosity, what is your hourly shop rate and how much would a repair like this power connector run? Thanks!
