I can't explain what it actually is, but there is something magical, something fabulous in the music of Wim Mertens. It captures me each time a listen to it. A true magician!!
A fantastic concert, which brings me tears everytime I listen to it. This isn't music, this is art, it's life, wonderful & powerful, indeed there are no words to describe it. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

I miss the clarinet in your concerts, master. It's a distinctive feature of many of your albums, and now, every time I see you in Spain I hope it reappears... :(
@@dirkdescheemaeker3059 wow, dirk!! Love you more. What happened with Mr mertens not having a clarinet like you anymore??! Artistic decisions I presume... Take care
It seems to me a rude disrespect to put commercial advertisements in the middle of videos like this, particularly in these times of pandemic, in which people who are respecting the confinement, we go to these sites for help, physical and mental, and in which the owners of these sites, altruistically, give us their support. RUclips has millions of sites dedicated to business topics, frivolous things, following “celebrities”. Those are the market for your ads -nothing creative, by the way- there, the compulsive buyers who purchase anything that is fashionable, are. I respectfully ask RUclips and his advertisers that remove their commercial ads in the middle of videos like this one, as a token of solidarity with humanity, in these difficult moments, and also in those dedicated to meditation, to music for meditation, to classical music and others similar, which are supporting people who respects the confinement, in order to take care of the others. I don't know if this is the right place to make this suggestion, but I wanted to put this thought in the open. If anyone can tell me how to get this message to RUclips managers, and you want to support this idea, please let me know. Thank you very much.
Where does this title come from? It's not any WM song that I'm aware of, and the video is in fact the entire Charaktersketch + greatest hits set that the ensemble has been touring for the past year.
OK, so it seems this may be the name of a new concert video, maybe accompanying a future recording? The set includes a song called Across The Veldt, which is unfamiliar. Perhaps a preview from the concluding part of the Cran aux Oeufs triptych, which is due to be concluded before the end of the year...
There are 2 almost identical pieces with that theme. You can find them all on album " The Belly of an Architect". This one is "Time Passing", the other "Birds for the Mind".
According to my experience, there are those who love it and those who hate it. No one is indifferent to it. I happen to be one of those who love it. His vocal sounds are not words of any language but rather notes invented for that purpose -- voice purely as an instrument. For curiosity sake, Sergio, and trying to find a pattern about liking or disliking Merten's vocal instrument: are you bi or multilingual?
lol as superfan of Win till "maximizing the audience" I think he should keep using other voices instead of his one...because his one is quite horrible. as my language I speak only Italian. have a good day papi tata dad babbo
Ciao, Sergio! [ Leone ;) ] and thank you for your prompt reply. I'm still curious, so forgive me my insistence: do you think if someone else, a professional singer, for example, was the one singing, would that be better for you as a listener?

Soothing for the soul. He's living in my head rent free.
As you well know, Meister Mertens, you're always welcome to Lisbon. Thank you for your genius.

Yes! Exactly that. :)
I was there! I had my second chance to listen to Wim Mertens live. I wish that one day he will perform in a historical place in Istanbul.

earmarked great
Brilliant ... and from the beginning to the end a great respect for the art and music affirmation.

Is not Struggle for Pleasure, is Wound to wound
Sorry! My amusia gets worse every year :)
Please at 1:09:00 what is the title? Thanks...
"The personal changes" taken from "Motives for writings" (1989)
What is the name of the track starting at 1:47:55?
To answer my own question, it seems to be an improved version of "Birds for the mind".
It's called "The Belly"
This is the shorter version: Time Passing.
please name the song in 1:48:00 !
The Pantheon Meal
There are 2 almost identical pieces with that theme. You can find them all on album " The Belly of an Architect". This one is "Time Passing", the other "Birds for the Mind".
What kind of stupid does one have to be puts ads right in the middle of a song?

Uno schifo di assillante pubblicità rompe l'incanto!
That old man with the clarinet though.... ^^
Damned right you are.: in 2015 the guy was already 55 and still playing the clarinet IN PUBLIC. It should be forbidden by law.
please win stop use your voice!!!
