Including, scenes on the velociraptors, TREX (rexy) indoraptor, and scenes from Jurassic World, & Dominion. I enjoy making videos about dinosaurs such as this one!

    1. Assuming he stayed, he likely would have hid in the floorboards. He ran into the middle stall of a building, so his panicking instincts seem to be to burrow down as deep as he can from the problem.
    2. Rexy likely would have ignored the vehicles, as she ignored the other car even after seeing prey come out of it and tossing the other one. If she associated the vehicles with prey she would likely have at least attempted to roll the other to see if she got any reaction. Same for if she viewed it as a threat.
    3. When it was safe, Grant and Malcolm would likely have run to the other car. Genarro would be arguing they stay put, while Ian/Grant would likely advocate walking to the Visitor Center. Its hard to say how it would exactly break down, but its certain SOMEONE would still be at the cars when Muldoon and Ellie took the gas jeep. Meaning they can also pick them up on the way relatively easily.
    4. People seem to forget, but the whole reason the computer reset attempt becomes Critical is a combination of the Missing Grant/Children and Ians Leg situations. They need the park systems to track the missing group, and phone lines to call for medical help. Muldoon, with his just having come off rescuing everyone, would carry a LOT more weight for his Absolute Raptor Containment stance being the new Most Critical situation.
    5. There would now be a lot more competent bodies available for any possible system reset missions. A mission that no longer needs to be rushed. We know for a fact thanks to the main timeline that Ian is able to read the powerplant schematics. We also know that Muldoon wants to directly check containment on the Raptors while standing by with his shotgun if they do escape. And we know Ellie is willing volunteer for fieldwork while Grant is able too do it as well. With how much has been going wrong and without his leg distracting him, Ian would also likely put brakes on the whole "2 minutes i can have power on" failure by demanding they think about what is the worst case and prepping for it BEFORE they try it.
    6. This would give two 2 man teams to contain the raptors and reset the power, all while Mr. Arnold can stay in the control room where he is the one person that knows exactly what needs to be done to bring the system online fastest. Genarro and the Hammonds could all stay in the bunker, since the teams would likely start there anyway to equip themselves with radios and shotguns.
    7. From here there's a few divergence points in what could happen. Especially for sake of a movie, since you just solved basically all your conflicts before they started aside from the heist and power loss threads. A lot can take cues from the book in fact. You could have every thing go completely smoothly and watch Hammond try to reassert control, making his blindness to the inherent flaws the new conflict. You could have the raptors already have escaped by the time the teams are set up, using the book plotpoint that the backup power Nedry left on for them wasnt actually enough to run the fences even though they reported being on. A tranquilizer hunt for the escaped dinos and especially Rexy.
    8. My personal favorite idea: Rexy interrupting this sound new plan, perhaps in a way that crashes into and frees the raptors such as chasing the herd of gallomimus or something directly into the raptor pen. Thus showing Ian is again correct, in that even the best laid plans in an inherently chaotic system are subject to the instability of that system. Everything was seemingly seconds away from restabilizing, but in fact it was seconds away from an even more devastating instability

    I agree with the Light and Jeep focus. Remember the Trex was hitting Grant and Malcolms car until the kids turned the Torch on. Gennaro if still in the car would of told the kids not to and they wouldn't do it out of panic. Maybe since the light wasn't turned on Grant and Malcolm's car would be knocked over instead. Especially because their car headlamps are facing T-Rex and the only the rear lights are seen on Genaro and the Kids.

    When I saw this in the theatre I couldn’t believe the T. rex couldn’t smell them. I had a theory that the T. rex did see them and did smell them but that he wasn’t hungry and didn’t perceive them as a threat. It was just his instinct to follow movement like a prey, but he did perceive the jeeps as a threat, much like how a dog might bark at a moving car.
    And I was confused as to why he would jump out of the jeep. When my instinct would have been to stay in the jeep.

      The rain would have masked their smell, not to mention the possibility of motor oil from the car being smashed around.
      Rexy wouldn't have necessarily seen the cars as a threat either. She would have been used to seeing and hearing them, it wasn't until 'they' started making sounds and flashing lights that she took an interest. It'd be pretty hard to tell with an animal that size but it seemed more like play. The way she continues pushing the car around after having "killed" it solidifies it for me, its like watching big cats or bears at the zoo. They'll get tires loaded with food and stuff as a puzzle. Those cars were pretty much the same thing to her.

      The way I understand it, the movie hybridizes Gennaro with Ed Regis, a character from the novel who wasn’t only greedy but a coward who got eaten by the young T.rex. All that Spielberg does is shuffle the order and shape of the events slightly differently in the film. Thus, we get movie Gennaro.

  • @robertbarrows6687
    @robertbarrows6687 5 месяцев назад +19

    Honestly Rexy probably wouldn't have attacked the cars regardless if she wasn't drawn to the kids via the door slam and the light. It goes on the same reason for why lions, hyenas and other predators don't attack safari vehicles. They think its just a big animal instead of multiple smaller ones. And to Rexy, she'd know the smell of said vehicles which wouldn't translate to food for her.
    Rexy would still have the Tyrannosaurs' immense olfactory capability too, the reason why she didn't just snack down on Grant and Lex is because she was full and was doing a threat posture against them. It also shows she DID see them and she just wanted to intimidate them before moving on. Added to the fact she was already full (from the goat and Gennaro) she had no reason to eat either of them.
    Man in retrospect-Rexy acts more like a normal animal would than a persistent super predator in Jurassic Park than she does in World through Dominion.

  • @Dreadjaws
    @Dreadjaws 4 месяца назад +4

    The interesting thing is that while neither book nor movie Gennaro know about the T-Rex's movement-based eyesight, Ed Regis, the character who actually was in the car with the kids in the book and bolted, absolutely knew about it, as he worked in the park and was privy to the behavior of all the creatures. He knew staying still was the better option yet still panicked so hard that he ran away. Panic will make you act irrationally and there's no way to predict it. I don't think any of us can say how we would have acted in their place.

    Hey Shadows I have a working theory and wanted to know your thoughts on it. Based of a video Klay did awhile back i have a huge theory on the Velociraptors being the original Hybrids across the entire franchise.
    -The Original JP raptors are overly aggressive, methodical thinkers not driven by food but by mission/almost a sadistic like nature.
    -JP:TLW are the more 'normalized', mainly focus on oack tavtics, keep to themselves and dont seem to show the same heightened aggressive nature, mainly we only see them actually hunting.
    -JP3 Raptors, more Hybrids bringing logic and thought into the game. They communicate like a well driven team, have the best pack tactics of yet and have the idea when to withdraw.
    Cut to JW and this formula is almost perfected....
    This also explains thier different colorizations, vocals and more.
    Spino might have been the biggest Hybrid yet but the Raptor program goes back futher then we think

I think you’d be a fool to assume you’d survive regardless. There are so many ifs. You could run into another dinosaur. My question is, would smaller predators evacuate the immediate space around Rexy( like in true dinosaur behaviour?) If so than you’d be less likely to run into anything else.

    I think the Rex would have lost interest in the cars after another minute or two of investigating them. Remember, there’s a hurricane hitting the island and even big animals would seek shelter.

    Honestly it would have depended on what he advised the kids to do. If he told the kids to shut up and hunker down they would have been fine. But if he panicked and made a noise or ran out then yeah…
    But if it were me? I would have told the kids to hunker down into the footwell and stay quiet and still. As an adult I probably couldn’t fit so I would have just laid down across the driver and passenger seat and stayed still. By the time Rexie has finished breaking out of the enclosure we’d be hunkered down and not even visible even if she looked our way. So presumably Rexie would have wandered off down the road.
    Upon consolidation into a single car I would have *strongly* recommended that we all stay put in the cars. We can collect water from the storm as we saw Alan doing, and the cars have already proven to be effective protection against wandering dinosaurs provided we stay quiet and hidden. The other motivation would have been because that’s what’s recommended in survival situations.
    Stay with your vehicle, especially if potential rescuers know the location of said vehicle. And in this case they most definitely do know where the cars are or even if they don’t know where exactly the cars stopped they’re on a fixed route which rescuers could follow. Help would almost certainly be coming because the folks in the control room know you’re out there. Heck you have the wealthy park owners grandkids with you so it’s safe to bet help would eventually come even if it’s helicopters a couple days after the storm.
    Of course if like 48 hours pass and no help arrives it would be time to revisit the idea but yeah, stay with the cars.

    in regards to why rexy didn't eat lexy and alan, i imagine she DOES smell them, but is just kinda, not hungry, she just ate a guy after all. throughout that entire scene she's just kinda wondering what everything is until something draws her attention and then raises her hunting instincts by acting very prey like, you know like running away with your back turned or screaming.

    • @animallover7072
      @animallover7072 2 месяца назад

      I’m sure one goat and one human aren’t enough to satisfy the hunger of a fully grown T-Rex in real life. But in the movies, it sure does seem that way and they’ll do that just to make the story go the way they want it to go.

    I ain't a hero. I'd be bricking myself smth real. However, id tell those kids to very slowly hide under the seats, and stay very quiet, while doing so myself. Rexy still might have seen us, it would be my fault, but moving slowly and staying quiet draws less attention than quick movement and noise

    Yeah I think logically leaving the car was suicide. I feel like I'd be too terrified to think about running on foot. I'd probably tell the kids to get down and be quiet and I'd do the same until someone found us. Even if rescue came I'd be scared to get out of the car

    sense i have trauma and various problems irl, i constantly have terrible nightmares, for many years everynight is a fight for survival, trapped in my own head. due to this i have many many dreams of T-rexs and in every single one of them i SPRINT, this at first glance would seem odd of me as i choose fight in nearly every circumstance i find myself in. but when faced with a beast THAT BIG i opt for running to a shelter too small for it to follow like a cave or bunker. in my nightmares i have faced soldiers, pirates, class mates, police, raptors, crocodiles, snakes, spiders, werewolves, gangs, rex, you name it. only in the instance of rex and werewolf i chose to flee. but examining this fascinated me because ppl only ever have ether flight or fight responses. why do i have both depending on the circumstance? i attribute this to my autismn and scientific mind. i am remarkably calm and objective focused. knowing that panic will certainly get me killed. i also therorize that most people only have 1 or 2 fight or flight moments in their lives, perhaps 25 years of fight or flight moments has hardened me. so in any case facing human sized oponants i fight cause i know i can off them easily. but rex is too big to harm and i dont tipically carry a silver weapon on me, so knowing i cannot possibly win a fight my only option is flee. so long autistic tangent now coming back to a relevent point in the lawers case i would absolutely have ran also however i would NOT have stopped in a straw hut i would have kept going till i found something more sturdy. as for the kids well if they arnt doing anything that would draw the predaters attention surely its instincts will make it chase the thing thats running, allowing me to lure it away from the kids. also theres a difference between bravery and stupidity. to fight something that size with ur bare hands is stupidity. however so is hiding in a straw hut. so im not sure id call him a coward so much as ... unintelligent

Also you don't have to be a genius to know to stay still and not run. Get the kids down onto the floor, lower the backs of the front seats over them if possible, and get down onto the floor yourself.

    If it was me instead of Gennaro, I would have stayed in the car but not because I'm a hero but more that it falls inline with me being the type to stay quiet and wait to sneak away, or try to follow cues from someone like Dr. Grant who'd have a better idea on what to do. Before Rex breaks out, have both kids hunker down in the car and myself crawl over to the back seat. Hopefully, see better what is going on with the other car plus be closer to the emergency equipment.

Meaning they never have to reboot everything, so the Raptors never get out. Granted that does still leave the loose raptors we know are in the park.

    I think if everyone stayed put, stayed quiet, and didn't turn on any lights, the T-Rex would lose interest and move on without much harm done. She'd get frustrated with trying to extract these tiny humans from the vehicles; they are not enough meat to be worth the effort. Poor Donald! I think he's kind of endearing, really. All the characters are great.

  • @WorldWalker128
    @WorldWalker128 4 месяца назад +1

    I'm disgruntled that he just up-and-left them, but at the same time fear isn't simply an emotion it's also a hardwired instinct geared towards survival. Even well-trained and seasoned kitted-out soldiers can feel fear, and this guy is just a lawyer. The biggest predator he's seen up to this point was probably a lion at a zoo or a shark at an aquarium and in both situations the animals are locked up and secure. That said, he has no emotional or instinctual attachment to those kids, so when his fear-instinct kicked in all he could probably think about was fleeing and hiding, which he did.
    The movie prior to this point sets him up in such a way that by the time he dies we already don't like him as a person. We feel sympathy for him as he's being eaten but that's about it. In the movie he's mostly seen as being money-focused once he sees the dinosaurs and prior to that company-ethics-focused, which considering how much money they could have made at the time had the company not had Nedry working for them (or had Hammond said yes to his raise request. So much for "spared no expense".) makes sense. He's probably very rarely been in a situation across his life that has had him in any real danger.
