YOU are the MAN!!! THANK YOU a million times! I'm a 62 year old woman who is having to learn how to do repairs on my own. I ordered the pack of drawer glides from Amazon, but the instructions were poor. I watched several of these videos and they didn't explain that extra part that goes in the inside track. They only told about the piece you screw to the back of the drawer. Your demonstration explaining it and also how it might be a little tight the first time the drawer is inserted was excellent! I shouted "Hallelujah!!" You made my day, sir!!

No one showed that part, just replacing the drawer piece, which I knew how to do.... the track piece seemed easy, but I couldn't remember the direction or if it was screwed in since it broke over a year ago!! The upgrade would be to remove the current runners and replace with a wood to wood setup.

@@layersofgracedesigns9351 I meant with something like a different mechanism. Like a soft close. I’ve been trying to find a video of that but can’t find one. My glides keep braking.
@@roberto.gallegos Understood! You can get the soft glide drawer slides for cabinets and put on the side of the drawers instead but it really is going to be dependent on the drawer you are working with! I would search cabinet soft close ball bearing glides. I will check my stock and see if I have something I can do this on and make a video!

I'm not able to get the new drawer bracket for the slide to go into the metal slide. What do I do?
You may need a different size or it needs to be forced. You can use a razor blade and shave some of the plastic off to make it fit.
Also, make sure the metal is not bent inward. That can keep it from going in the slot. Hope this helps
@@layersofgracedesigns9351 I think I'll have my husband take over! The new ones are the same size as the broken one so as you mentioned he may need to use his rubber mallet....

Our dresser has two of those tracks has those brackets but I can't get it out of the dresser
If it is because the screw is too tight to remove, try a little WD-40 and then unscrew. If it is the plastic that is stuck, you will need a flathead screw driver to pry it off.

Also if it is the drawer won’t come out, you need to pull it out as far as you can, then jerk it hard. Or sometimes there is another plastic stopper that hits the back of the drawer that keeps it from coming out
Can you add these to old dresser that didn’t have ?
I believe so, if you convert the entire runner system to the metal on wood
how do you take out the drawer if it is not broken?
Some pieces have plastic tabs you have to push down when pulling. They could be on the top or bottom. Others have a little piece of wood so you have to angle, wiggle it out at the same time! Some have metal sliders on the side of the drawers and those have little tabs by the metal part that you push one side down and the other side up as you pull!
