I have been using as an EDC for about 6 months, it has become my favorite knife.

    Thanks LTK.
You're right of course. At this price point. These are great knives. I love both of mine.
My Italian Cutjack, has perfect detent, and action.
My D2 Modus, is a good knife. That detent is really weak though. Centering and smoothness, are very good. I think on this one. The lock-bar pressure, should be set-up a little higher. I'm sure that would help. Both knives, are a bit sharp, just on the sides of the flipper. Right near the tip. No biggie though. I just taped them off, and bumped them on the buffing wheel. Which took all of about 30 seconds each.

That's not what we've been hearing Paddy.
We heard, that your detent is getting a little weak, and needs some work!

.....and so yes LTK, the one you sent me was just perfect, I do believe that these are good knives- the one with loose detent, Im sure was an anomaly. Ive had a few of these & they're all pretty good. I appriciate your understanding & backing this knife up. I was never unhappy with the purchase & am still not. Thank you LTK.

LTK the mini I bought from you has a strong detent and you can’t shake it out, no way no how. Cleaned and polished the bearing points
With Flitz and it has gotten smother with use. I do like the shape of the blade and the scales, but I would like a deep carry clip. I want to handle
A larger Cutjack and Modus before buying one. Went to the Great Outdoor Show this week, many knife sellers, saw lots of high end knives and cheep crap nothing in the middle.

Thanks for the video. None of the other reviews mention this issue. Good to know.

Matt Finish It took awhile to have enough of them pass through my hands before I caught the issues

I guess each knife is going to be slightly different. I subscribed the other day. Glad I did.

My detent on my D2 3" was perfect but I did have to extensively polish the bushings. No issues with my D2 Modus. I think there are definitely some "minor" inconsistencies with the Chinese Steel Wills.

IMO the 3.5 flips so much better. The 3 inch needs much more wrist action.

My local knife shop is a Steel Will Dealer.. I have 2-D2 Cutjacks, a D2 Modus and D2 Tenet plus a couple Gekkos (great knives)...I've handled several more.. The Modus and Tenets flip much better then the CJ's..But, the blade stock is quite a bit thicker then the Cutjacks..I've seen some variation in F&F but most are good...The detents etc on those are unacceptable..I'm getting turned off knives in general from many co's poor F&F and overpricing..

the blades are good.....the knife. is just passable. you get what you pay for. expect to do a little work to get them to be usable. dehorning, polishing the washers, tweaking. they're slippery as well. mine didn't open using the flipper tab. after 1000 times opening it's now starting to open completely
opening the knife over and over is painful on your finger
I think all these Chinese flippers are over hyped but they make good beaters

Always enjoy your vids. Does it compare to my ZT's, Kizer's, etc.? No. But it's the best $40 D2 knife I have... I may be a little more forgiving than the esteemed host though lol.

Blade play with the lock disengaged? Yeah that's way too picky for me to care about, in fact in all the years I've bee into knives I've never thought to check that. When does the knife ever operate without the lock pressure on it?

The FRN Modus I have is pretty good but I'm also torn between a tiny bit of play and a smooth action. Yeah you could say that for $42 or whatever what can you expect, but $42 in Chinese knife dollars gets me a Ruike or Bestech or Tuyaknife G10 model from the right seller or even a CH G10 model which I'm willing to bet will put these Steel Wills to shame. I'd rather they skip the fancy packaging and useless paperwork and put a couple more bucks into making the knives more consistent.
