It's SO CLEAR by this interview, how INCREDIBLY classy Jane Powell truly was and frankly still is!! She's the epitome of charm, grace and elegance personified!!!!
Who would not fall in love with Jane Powell ; everybody’s sweetheart ? She looks as good here as she did 20 years earlier in those musicals displayed in the posters behind her.
I HAVE BEEN A POWELL FAN SINCE I WAS TEN AND FIRST SAW HER IN "THREE DARING DAUGHTERS" AND FOLLOWED HER CAREER ALL THRU HER LIFE...MIGHT SAY I HAD A LIFE LONG CRUSH ON HER...I AM 85 NOW AND STILL WISH SHE WAS AROUND TO BRIGHTEN MY DAY...I MISS HER.....
I think I fell in love with Jane Powell when I obtained a copy of her record "True Love" with "Mind If I Make LoveTo You" on the B side. I watched all her movies and what a voice. I thought she was the best of all the females who did the musical at that time. I agree with her on the studio system. That's why they became stars.
When I was younger, I heard about Jane Powell and maybe saw her occasionally on a grainy tv set, now seeing her in a higher quality, color video even at about 46 years old she has a beauty, and presence that commands attention even a simple print dress.
I think the actress that Jane Powell did not want to name who was not fond of her was Hedy Lamarr. It is written that Hedy Lamarr did not want Jane Powell for the Female Animal which was the final motion picture for both Jane Powell and Hedy Lamarr.
In her autobiography, Jane did name Hedy Lamarr as her least favorite "screen parent." She said Hedy was not happy playing her mother in THE FEMALE ANIMAL because Jane at that time was a young adult.
I think THE FEMALE ANIMAL is one of the campiest movies. Just watching Hedy Lamarr, her trampy daughter and Jan Sterling all clawing for George Nadar's abs. @@Rollem38
The Female Animal went out as Univeral's double feature package with Orson Well's Touch of Evil. Neither film set the box office on fire. @@davidallen508
She is not giving much info. The interviewer is working hard. I can understand how hard work would obscure her ability to have a vantage point. My favorite is Two weeks with Love. I was about 9.

I loved Jane Powell since I saw her in pictures published in the Chilean magazine Ecran.
Jane always give an excellent interview. Her answers are always truthful.

Miss Powell looked so beautiful and contemporary here. Miss her. ❤
happy 95th in heaven, Jane Powell
What a lovely talented lady.
Oh, what great pleasure Jane Powell's movies have brought me through the years. Dazzling....magical❣ Thank you for this lovely interview.

That film was a total BOMB so nothing about it matters anyway.
