Super glad I asked you, this is so well done. 😊 Hopefully these stages weren't too boring to speedrun since they're quite linear and empty, but I really appreciate that you took the time!
it was more relaxing to do as i was not trying to go for times that were too harsh

I played the og Sonic Unleashed Wii and I have to tell you, speed running them is crazy.
Yeah these stages kinda need UnWiished's more complex boosting and rolling mechanics to not be empty, with the typical more simplistic and shallow boost mechanics of Unleashed and Gens that mainly focus on pure reaction timing they end up being kinda boring and empty because they weren't made to work with that.
Yeah, the levels definitely work better in the original game since it controlled and felt different, but this is still really cool to see in hd! Nice run.
still prefer generations controls to be honest
@@ffastt no ofc. That's fine. I'm just saying you can tell that they were designed around the Wii's controls. The levels never feel this empty when you actually play because boosting is a resource you are constantly managing, with every press of the button being a commitment.

these maps really are just built around that one time boost ability lol

personally, i like it that way. it forces you to learn the level and decide when it’s best to boost and to just run instead of ‘oh hey i got a single ring/defeated one enemy time to instantly beat the level”
@randominternetman8177 It's a weird mod to use for sonic unleashed ps2. You can see how little you can use the hold boost on these maps. you may as well just rely on the tap boost that the game had by default.

i have done it before as a sort of race format (and did all the levels), i could do it solo though

You're playing the Japanese version of Sonic Generations. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm just confused, because I don't speak Japanese.
He's not, he just has the Japanese voice selected. Also, I don't think Sonic says any actual dialogue, just grunts and sounds.

If sega remasteres unleashed they have to include the wii stages as extra optional stages

just include the wii/ps2 version for documentation. then you don’t have to decide which to play
