ok the surprise watchdog/cat at 2:46 was quite amusing. was thinking there was supposed to be one in that room of that particular catacomb, just forgot it spawned on the upper level of that room.
Some weapon pairs should have unique interaction when dual wielded, or even unique L1 chain if the combination makes sense (for example rapier main, dagger off, or 1H+shield unique combos). I'll never forget the disappointment I had felt when I finally got the second puzzling stone sword in DS2 and realized that powerstancing them doesn't make any use of the whip attack it has.

@@zsDUGGZ yup. Also he uses whatever gear is required for the build and sticks with it. He would be even more of a problem if he ran invasions all day with his own favorite builds
The whole point of Dark Souls was to illustrate that humanity is the darkness and that light can have an impact on it but also be utilised by it. So it's actually entirely lore accurate as well as real world accurate to have holy demonstrated in dark. It's as André once said: "Lords...wher'd ye happen 'pon t h i s coal? It's much too dark. I see the Abyss in it... Yet a humble smith I remain. I won't turn down a request. But forget not: your fight is for the flame...and ye fellow kin, just like mine! A cursed fate this may be. But hope remains, does it not?"
I gotta say, 7:02 was kind of sad. Guess it just passed over them? The ability really has a sensitive window of how far or how close someone has to be to get hit.
The problem with the sword is that the first cloud of darkness comes out to your left. So the most consistent way to land hits is to not lock on and always turn right 90 degrees before casting. It's just super awkward and seems like they made it work that way entirely for the visual aesthetics. Raising the sword is already a huge tell but the delay between the first cloud coming out and the first cloud that can realistically be a threat to your opponent is far too large to be useful outside of scenarios where you trap your opponent. You shouldn't have to work that hard just to get some utility out of the ash.
@@leonardo9259 Gotta agree with the other person, it's not even that. It's more like a decorative sword meant to look cool in screenshots. The whole light and dark thing doesn't even make much sense in terms of lore.
14:01 regarding blues being afk, and that blue in the previous video disconnecting after the failed gank, I've seen a couple of people joining as blue, as a means for easy rune arcs. Either you get to gank an invader for an easy fight, or just passively earn it by the invader dying. Had a couple of people casually admit to it.
Yeah, it’ll summon you even when you’re sitting at a grace. Kinda annoying. People say being Blue is pretty pointless - and they’re right - but I like it cause it spices up a build making playthrough with a little bit of extra pvp, the encounters are usually funny, and sometimes you get a sick 2v2 with a tauntered host. Mostly though, you show up late, and have no way to teleport to the battle. Just rock up in time to wave to the victor and leave.
If I may, I'm often an AFK blue because I'll spend all day playing and not get summoned, go to get a drink and come back to see a message about a Host being killed and me being sent back to my world. Like... it genuinely only seems to trigger when I'm not at my computer.
Wanted to let you know that when looking at your channel for a video to watch, I realized I had already seen EVERY single video you've made in the past month. Your content has never been more consistently engaging, keep it up brother

I don't think any buffs or debuffs stack with themselves in this game. Best you can hope for is to use the 20% debuff on the enemy, followed by the Sword of Light's 20% buff on yourself, for a little over 40% extra damage.
Chase, my friend. You've made me a much better player over these last couple years. Just watching you do what you do, it's like watching film for sports people, has made me much better. Thank you
