man, what a excellent play, really awesome i love your covers. Was looking for someone playing this song to learn and what a good surprise you had a video covering it, oh thank you
I rarely watch covers all the way through, well done keeping that guitar complexity while singing on top. inspired me to learn this song too, huge sinatra fan
That's life (That's life) That's what all the people say You're riding high in April, shot down in May But I know I'm gonna change that tune When I'm back on top, back on top in June I said that's life (That's life) And as funny as it may seem Some people get their kicks Stomping on a dream But I don't let it, let it get me down Cause this fine old world, it keeps spinnin' around I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet A pawn and a king I've been up and down and over and out And I know one thing Each time I find myself Flat on my face I pick myself up and get Back in the race That's life (That's life) I tell you, I can't deny it I thought of quitting, baby But my heart just ain't gonna buy it And if I didn't think it was worth one single try I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet A pawn and a king I've been up and down and over and out And I know one thing Each time I find myself layin' Flat on my face I just pick myself up and get Back in the race That's life (That's life) That's life and I can't deny it Many times I thought of cutting out but my heart won't buy it But if there's nothing shaking come this here July I'm gonna roll myself up In a big ball and die My, my
Corey my pop loved this song ..hearing you play it brings me back to my childhood (1960s-70s) Sunday afternoons with the whole family the Zenith console playing Sinatra & Elvis with my old man singing after a few glasses...thank you!
When I was a kid (1960s), my parents had loads of Sinatra albums. We would play them on a turntable set into a cabinet with built-in speakers. I wonder what happened to all those albums. I would love to have them in my collection. Great performance, Corey. Cheers.
This is one of the best covers I've heard of this song, and it's even better when you listen to it at 1.25x speed. I swear until the day I die I will tell anyone who will listen that this song should be played at 90 bpm, despite all the most popular recordings being ~70. If a punchier, "kiss-my-ass" sound is really what you are going for you should definitely try it at 90bpm.
I'm in love with this. Your playing is so inspiring, the way you compose these covers is just so great. On a side note I hope my voice is as good as yours someday. I've been playing for 15 years, and finally, you're inspiring me to sing.
Hey Corey. I want to thank you for making these covers. You helped me realize that my style of music is fingerstyle + vocals instead of exclusive fingerstyle.
My man! Thank you so much for this cover. An all time fav song of mine and you did an incredible job making it your own and honoring the original. You've given me 20 things to work on with my guitar with this post. Instant fan here. I appreciate it.

That was great man! Loved the bluesy swagger of this version. Also digging your grittier approach vocally
Very well done young man.
Ces vrais j'ai aimé cette reprises de franck Sinatra et du rat pack 😮😢🎉
I was blown away before he even opened his mouth. You’ve inspired me to try to learn this one sir, thank you!
I loved it. Great job. The vibe, timbre of the voice, the groove, the guitar playing, loved it.
Is it timbre or tambre? 😁
@@za17macca neither, i pronounce it tomber but its correctly said tambre but spelled timbre
@@daallen7636 Hehe I was merely making a sly Seinfeld reference
Great cover of a great tune. RIP Sinatra. A name that many of us will remember for ever .What an entertainer and artist.
Yeah that's true. Frankie and Dino were so great!!! Both entertainers and artists. But Corey is also great. I'm impressed by his performance!
I didn't even know he was sick.
On 9.5k views is a shame this is a gem I know it's only been out 3 days but this deserves millions of views.. It's on repeat atm
I've just discovered this guy tonight....... his unique covers are fabulous. Doesn't need a band
Love that technique for tremolo towards the end! Give it the finger! Then finish with a strum!
The emotion and expression makes this way more better
Brilliant bluesy cover of this classic.
One word : Perfection.
Without a single doubt you produce some of the greatest covers.
🔥🔥🔥
