  • "The House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, founded by Dan Ackroyd and Isaac Tigrett, offered me an opportunity to be part of an AIDS benefit hosted by Deborah Messing and Eric McCormack, the stars of the TV sitcom "Will and Grace".
I was invited to do a fashion show using models who were actresses in Hollywood.
When it came time to arrange for packing up the collection shown in Monte Carlo, I asked a young woman who had been modeling for me in Hawaii and a male Hula master to accompany my husband Jered and I to the Mainland (California) and join me in this celebration.
Also, a big box of Hawaiian flowers was part of my luggage to toss out into the crowd. And because my son was in the band REM, I underscored the catwalk with their most current song, "I Ate the Lotus”.
From the mud comes the Lotus, a Buddhist symbol of Peace, Love, Compassion & Enlightenment." - Donna Loren
