i think a friend of my mine was wrongfully denied adjustment. the Denial letter stated the two reasons as 1. she didnt explain well enough how she came into the country, but she came into the us at age 10. 2. was she couldn't prove that she was in the US at exactly dec 2000, but she has school and medical records from 1993 to 2015

Happy to help! I also watched so many videos online to figure all this stuff out. 1. I actually learned this in a facebook group I'm in: K1 to AOS filers. A lot of people had asked about it here, and folks who were previously approved said they were able to translate it themselves: facebook.com/groups/K1toAOS/?ref=share 2. They can be copies! You actually shouldn't submit any originals in this packet. I believe you may need an original for the interview, but I'm not 100% sure yet.

So my wife is a Filipina and just like you we had a civil marriage here in the states after having a ceremony with family and friends in the Philippines. So question 1, I see many videos and Google content that says you must also fill out form I-130 but I notice you didn't mention that one. So is that form not necessary? Secondly, at about the 6 minute point in your video I understood you to say that you can file for a social security number before filing the adjustment of status. Is this correct? We want to file adjustment of status but at the moment the SS # is what is most important to us for tax filing purposes. I thought we'd have to file AOS before we could request a SS#. Hey girl! Currently just got married on a k-1 visa myself! (From Canada) Just wondering if you guys filed within the 90 day period of the k1 visa or waited after your husband’s k1 visa expired. Genuinely curious. I personally have another girlfriend who her and her husband waited nearly 3 months after her k1 fiance visa expired and there was no problem! I’ve heard mixed reviews on both. Because technically the fiance visa is just to get married… not to file the AOS. Also I will totally be using your vid to help me through everything. Super informative, I love it. So thank you!!

You mention you didn't attached the i-693 form in the packet since the medical exam was already taken for the K1 visa interview. I got my medical exam prior to the K1 visa and got the necessary vaccinations, etc. Did it work out ok without submitting this form and just attaching the vaccine records from form DS-3025? no explanation letter needed for advance parole? In part 7 of I-131 it states "On a separate sheet of paper, explain how you qualify for an Advance Parole Document....."

Hey it was really informative. Do we really need barcode at the bottom of the forms? Do uscis accept application without a barcode? I am facing trouble with I-864, it doesnt count the household size correctly. I would really appreciate if you respond back
I believe you do need the barcode. As for the household size, make sure you are using Adobe Reader to fill out the form. Otherwise, you may need to add a text box over it to enter the correct amount in your household.

Please tell me how you are able to get a Social Security number before the adjustment of status. We need a social security number in order to file our taxes and the Social Security office is telling us we have to complete the adjustment of status first before we can get a Social Security number.

I got a quick question, so we never received 797 from uscis for I129F, but i have 797c (both the first 797c that proves their received of I129f and the second 797c that stated the case was approved. also i have NVC letter an the K1 visa. I read from the USCIS checklist for 485, it says approval notice 797 or receive notice 797c, so i think it should be good with just 797c and nvc letter. USCIS might just need that receive number. What you think about this, thank you.

My question is, I also filed for getting my SSN after 3 weeks of getting into the country. They told me that it would take a bit longer than usual (4 weeks). But it's been 7 weeks since I turned in all the documents and so far I haven't heard anything. I was wondering if you knew what was going on. I thought I would have my SSN at this point so I could add the copies of that like you did. But I am worried that I won't get it within the 90 days of being in here. Do you know what I could do about that?
I'd recommend calling the SSN office regularly to ask for an update. This happened to us, and they ended up telling us they had NO idea when our appointment would be, so we decided to just file for AOS without it.

I got an appointment 2 months away from when i called after 2weeks of arriving to the US, im afraid that by the time of this appointmnet we would have been married and can send AOS application but waiting for my SSN number still after appointment, in that case then we will just apply SSN with the AOS.... BUT if the SSN is released same day of my appointment then I'll push through the appointment date of my SSN application. thank you so much
@@ShengBelmonteOfficial we didn't receive it the same day, the appointment was to apply. We received my husband's social security card in the mail about 5 weeks after the appointment. You can definitely apply for AOS without one, but for us we really wanted to get my husband on my health insurance plan and set up joint bank accounts so we applied for the SSN first.

Hello, can you tell me for the translation of the Mexico birth certificate, did you also translate the back or only the front? The back does not have any of the personal information but it does have some stamps/seals/QR code and I wasn't sure if that needs translated as well. Thanks!
Everything in the foreign language has to be translated: all pages, stamp placements ('[Illegible stamp]', '[Stamp reads]:'), empty pages ('[Without text]'), apostilles, and all notes. Mine is very complicated so a certified translator is helping.
I got an rfe for affidavit of support but they don't they specifically what's wrong (im pretty sure I know what it is). They didn't send back the application for 485 and affidavit of support.. Should I resend affidavit or should I wait untill (if) they send back everything? Thank you.

On the i-485 you can check a box that will have them automatically send you the social security card once approved!

Happy to help! I don't recall having to pay an extra fee to file the i-131, but definitely double check. We sent the form to the address listed on this website. Thank you for your video! Would you be able to explain the medical examination part? You mention you didn't attached the i-693 form in the packet since the medical exam was already taken for the K1 visa interview. I got my medical exam prior to the K1 visa and got the necessary vaccinations, etc. Did it work out ok without submitting this form and just attaching the vaccine records from form DS-3025? This is very confusing.

Hey it was really informative. Do we really need barcode at the bottom of the forms? Do uscis accept application without a barcode? I am facing trouble with I-864, it doesnt count the household size correctly. I would really appreciate if you respond back
I believe you do need the barcode. As for the household size, make sure you are using Adobe Reader to fill out the form. Otherwise, you may need to add a text box over it to enter the correct amount in your household.

I got a quick question, so we never received 797 from uscis for I129F, but i have 797c (both the first 797c that proves their received of I129f and the second 797c that stated the case was approved. also i have NVC letter an the K1 visa. I read from the USCIS checklist for 485, it says approval notice 797 or receive notice 797c, so i think it should be good with just 797c and nvc letter. USCIS might just need that receive number. What you think about this, thank you.

My question is, I also filed for getting my SSN after 3 weeks of getting into the country. They told me that it would take a bit longer than usual (4 weeks). But it's been 7 weeks since I turned in all the documents and so far I haven't heard anything. I was wondering if you knew what was going on.
I thought I would have my SSN at this point so I could add the copies of that like you did. But I am worried that I won't get it within the 90 days of being in here. Do you know what I could do about that?
I'd recommend calling the SSN office regularly to ask for an update. This happened to us, and they ended up telling us they had NO idea when our appointment would be, so we decided to just file for AOS without it.

I do not recommend doing that right now. We never were able to get our since the wait times are so long for SSN appointments right now.
I think this depends on how busy your local SSO is, we were able to get my fiances last week and we're sending our paperwork in a couple weeks.

I got an appointment 2 months away from when i called after 2weeks of arriving to the US, im afraid that by the time of this appointmnet we would have been married and can send AOS application but waiting for my SSN number still after appointment, in that case then we will just apply SSN with the AOS.... BUT if the SSN is released same day of my appointment then I'll push through the appointment date of my SSN application. thank you so much
@@ShengBelmonteOfficial we didn't receive it the same day, the appointment was to apply. We received my husband's social security card in the mail about 5 weeks after the appointment. You can definitely apply for AOS without one, but for us we really wanted to get my husband on my health insurance plan and set up joint bank accounts so we applied for the SSN first.

We ended up forgetting the SSN process--we wouldn't receive it in time either. We just left the SSN part blank on the application.
Hello, can you tell me for the translation of the Mexico birth certificate, did you also translate the back or only the front? The back does not have any of the personal information but it does have some stamps/seals/QR code and I wasn't sure if that needs translated as well. Thanks!
Everything in the foreign language has to be translated: all pages, stamp placements ('[Illegible stamp]', '[Stamp reads]:'), empty pages ('[Without text]'), apostilles, and all notes. Mine is very complicated so a certified translator is helping.
