Been in Sac for about 8 years now. Moved here from the Bay. I think it depends on where you are at in life and the type of person you are. If you want to be in the limelight and have a whole lot of world class places to go and don't mind the traffic and congestion then live in the LA, The Bay, even SD. But if you are settling down, want to buy a house and don't mind a smaller town vibe but still having outlets to do cool things...Sac is awesome. People would point to the heat being a problem but every house has AC and with the money you save from buying out in Sac instead of LA or the Bay... get a swimming pool. And yes...Sac is coming up...they are building at the railroad area near downtown that will double the size of downtown. Mid town is a hipsters paradise...and yes plenty of good food to eat. But just know...Sac in about 10 years will be as expensive and crowded as LA and the Bay. Bound to happen.
I totally agree! Great insight
your missing a little on the last bit. look nobody has a crystal ball but if you use logic and historical precedence homes prices in Sacramento in 2033 are not going to be 850-1million they could be down to low 300s by 2026 because we have a very rare housing, stocks, bonds bubble like 1920,1929,2008 that has been forming for the past decade from never before seen cheap easy money coupled with the one 2 punch of the pandemic and the rug pull lifting interest rates there is so much pain ahead i dont see better days for the economy even in 2026 we dont know when the other side of the tunnel is
Back in LA went to Jesuit high school, really fun actually, fun level like San Francisco, LA not fun but weather good, only question is jobs, LA really does have mega jobs for everyone
Go back
No...and sorry for driving up prices@@ValleyProud916
Just bought my house in Sacramento! Should be ready by February/ March
Damn wtf? I was born and raised in Sacramento! I can't even afford to live here!!! Thanks for pushing me out!!!
There's definitely a lot to see and do in Sacramento. The people saying that there's nothing to do haven't done any Google searches about things to do in Sacramento.
I agree, honestly those people should spend some time in upstate NY and see what it's really like with not much to really do.
Born and raised in Sacramento and lived all over the world….and currently live in SOCAL……SACRAMENTO is one of the must under rated cities. I never feel more at peace than when I’m in the Great City of SACRAMENTO!!!! It is the absolute best!!!
Aw love this!!!
Correction: It *can* get down to 28 degrees overnight, depending on where you're located.
Source: Lived everywhere in Sac over 31 years (but finally escaping the state itself soon)
Yes it has gotten that cold here at my house near antelope
And we are like right next to rio Linda and they get fog, thick fog, and it bleeds into north highlands and antelope
But you go to places like granite bay and Roseville and it’s clear and sunny 😂 our weather is so weird here 😂
I live in Sacramento. Its awesome!
Hey. This is Zaire Haylock. I go to school in Sacramento and I love Sacramento.
I agree. As someone who has been here my whole life of 23 years there is plenty of things to do here in Sacramento. During baseball season go catch a river cats game. Plenty of sports bars too for both football and baseball ones that are well known for example buffalo wild wings and more. My point is I can say as a resident of Sacramento there is plenty of things that you can do even to avoid the heat. Aquatic centers both in antelope and Folsom and sun splash in Roseville
Many pros! It depends what you want to do? Some trolls say that it's boring, but what are you looking for? Do you have a boat to go on the Rivers? Do you want to go on the bike trails? Many awesome restaurants? Coffee shops? Festivals? Cool breweries? Farmers markets? Sporting events? Huge concerts like Aftershock? Club scene? Museums? Beautiful parks? State Fair? Concerts at the park? Plays? Huge convention center events? Many cool golf courses? Cool waterparks? I mean what is it?
Cons: The transient homeless people that are appearing out of nowhere. City council and Mayor that are letting crime happen and not doing anything about it.
Sounds amazing to me! How long is it hot, I’m in Texas and love a little hot hot days… those are simply a/c days
The homeless crisis and lack of police is happening in all major cities along the West Coast.
Need a better governor
You forgot about how you can hop on one of the freeways and drive two hours away to somewhere where you can have fun.
Then go live outside of Sacramento. Please.
@ oh shut up. Please. Just hush 🤫
thanks for the intel! I am getting approved for a VA loan, and I am debating on purchasing a 1 - bedroom condo in the SF Bay Area, or a 3/2 single family house in Sacramento. I am a paralegal, and taking the Bar Exam in July 2023, single, no kids, 54 years old. The more I think about it, Sac makes alot of sense!
Hi there, shoot me an email at serinapanganiban.remax@gmail.com. I'd be happy to help you get started with the process and go over the right options for you 😀
We have both LA and San Francisco weather sometimes
Born and raised in Sac for 23 years. The only good part about living in Sac was going escaping to the Bay or Tahoe on the weekends, other than that the city itself sucks. So glad I left.
How does it suck?
I never been! But from the video it really feels sucks!!! Sorry
@taiwannnusa5410 The summers are way way too hot pretty much 90° to 100° everyday June through August. Spring and Fall months are perfect though with high temps in the 70s and 80s!
it seems like it’s better than Sanfrancisco though.
Screw the bay area
I lived in Sacramento for a few years right on the border with Rancho Cordova.....if I were to return I would move to Roseville. CA....I LOVE ROSEVILLE......I am a San Francisco Giants ⚾️ fan
I’ll buy a house as long as Serina comes with it💃❤️
Nurse here. My first choice would be Sacramento in CA.
Why is that? Just curious. I'm on a step down in LA looking to move to Sac due to the lower COL and higher pay.
@@rafpescasio2909 AFAIK the NorCal nursing unions are some of the strongest in the US
Occupational therapy assistant here, I am strongly considering moving to Sacramento from Florida due to the pay. Florida keeps getting more and more expensive while companies are not giving out pay raises or pay raises that do not keep up with the amount of inflation that has hit Florida specifically. A lot of people have moved to Florida to escape taxes (specifically wealthy people) and the middle class and working class are being affected terribly.
Anyone knows how much teachers get paid in California? I’m getting my teaching license soon.
@@Hikh-d4wyou can just search “salary schedule” for any district in California and you can see for yourself
PS Bay Area teachers make poverty wages and their salaries were comparable to Sacramento
I’m on the east coast. I came here after watching Lady Bird. I was curious 😂
Great video! I have a question as I could never gauge how bad the homeless situation is compared to nyc so on average in midtown are you seeing a homeless person every three blocks?
More so in the downtown/midtown area, south sacramento, arden/arcade area & del paso heights. Not so much in the suburban areas.
Thanks for the break down! I grew up in primarily minority and low income areas growing up so it's cool but are there particular areas/neighborhoods you would advise to stay away from?
G Parkway, ask a local, they'll tell you all about it.
Some parts of the Arden-Arcade area.
Del Paso Heights. Trust me, you never wanna be caught in DPH.
Del paso heights, North Sacramento and South Sacramento, that's where the hood is at. But if you're used to it and don't mind, then it shouldn't be a problem. Besides that Sacramento isn't that bad.
I loved Sacramento growing up in my childhood before the RT Metro existed. Now I live in Magna Utah, Salt Lake County. I enjoy Downtown SLC better than the current Downtown Sacramento. SLC is similar to Sacramento except for the homeless and the snowstorms. Current Sacramento politics really sucks too, taxes are horrible. Utah is flat tax state. Salt Lake County is also Silicon Valley, Lehi manufactures chips. Roseville CA used to be like that, sadly not anymore.
Straight tripping, no traffic?
Sacramento is the best!!
HECK YA
theres pretty good job opportunity here and well paying jobs if you look , overall its pretty affordable compared to SF or LA
would you put this place over say Austin TX, or Orland/Tampa Bay, Fl?
@user-se7qg7vj4v I'm biased born and raised and lived in different parts of California I couldn't never live permanently in those states, I have lived in Phoenix for two years and enjoyed it but california is just best year around weather and stuff to do , it makes up for the high cost
does it have a high or low crime rate?
Hi there! As a realtor, I'm unable to legally disclose specific crime rates, but I can suggest a helpful resource. You can check out spotcrime.com/ to find detailed information about crime rates in Sacramento or any other area. Hope this helps!
I am taking a trip to Sacramento this fall to see if I may want to buy there!
Sweet! Shoot me and email and I'd be happy to give you some recommendations :)
Have you been to Sacramento yet?
Such a Great Channel Serina !! Thank you for your video ! I am planning to move to California and I am deciding which City to move, I am a Latin Man and in order to start I am going to look for job opportunities as a waiter or Server while I Study . Taking into account the cost of living , public transportation at the begining , the wages and the gastronomy scenario in Sacramento...Do you think is it a right decision to move there? I appreciate too much your answers and advice!..Thanks :)
Absolutely! Sacramento could be a great choice for you. Here's a quick breakdown:
Cost of Living: It's more affordable than some other California cities.
Job Opportunities: Plenty of opportunities in the hospitality industry, including waitstaff positions.
Public Transportation: Decent public transit options. There are buses here but for the most part everyone drives.
Wages: Competitive wages for waiters and servers.
Gastronomy Scene: Diverse and growing food scene, known for farm-to-fork dining.
Visiting the city and exploring neighborhoods is a great idea before making your decision. I'm here to help with any more questions you have! 😊🏡🍽
@@soldbyserina Thank you for your response dear Serine , You are so kind ! Have a nice night ;)
Yeah public transpo in Sac sucks! You have to have a car and drive! I'm in the Portland, OR area and public transpo is very good you don't really have to own a car.
I Live In Sacramento Year 1999
Thanks for this video!!!
All the talk about new developments in Sacramento does not bode well for its future. How soon before another nice place becomes a nightmare with all the problems associated with a high density city?
Awesome! Thanks. 🐻⭐
Fresno California
Hate to say it but those new construction houses have small backyards. But if you dont mind, then its not a problem.
I've seen a few communities that have good sized yard recently💁🏽♀️
@@soldbyserina that's great! Where?

Awesome video!
Can you give me some good apartment locations?
Yall live in the nice places 😂 rip bristheemu rip Tys rip Jody up Mac j coulda been big in the music industry 80 million up we ain’t letting it slide
Sac is too ghetto to be as expensive as it is! So glad I left!
Seriously. It's too trashy and ghetto for the cost of rent to be above $500 per month.
1700 a month for a one bedroom surrounded by homeless. Nothing happening musically anymore rent is stupid high for no reason.
😂😂
It fucking sucks having lower rent than San Francisco is not a brag and being close to Tahoe is the same as being close to Beyoncé. You’re still not Beyoncé. Numbers 1-100 it was better jn the nineties. Enjoy your state job.
1700 a month doesn't even get you a closet in the Bay Area😂😂😂.
@@jtrix34true!
Any GANG problems ?
Videos like these is gunu make the housing prices go up🤣

I would buy anything you sell me 😍

Sac is Whack! Glad i moved
I’m coming for the chicks and the 🌳
It's boring af.
is there a lot of filipinos/asians in sacramento?
yes
Yes and the women are🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
We out here 💥🥷
Do NOT move to Sacramento. Homeless out of control. Crime out of control. I live 30 minutes away and hate going to that dump. While standing in line to enter a Kings game a homeless man stumbled by wearing only a blanket..... numerous cops standing by watched him harass people in line for money. Homeless camps in the shadow of the state capital building. The place is a cesspool!!!!
I'm sure its nothing compared to bay area
@@nancymuas7366 A lot of Bay Area transits moving here with apathetic attitudes like that but Sacramento has caught up to the Bay Area with homeless drug addicts leaving their trash everywhere. It’s basically the Bay Area minus the beach
@@nancymuas7366 These problems came from the bay area!
@@MechMike-gx1xt Exactly!! And it's true!
HAHAHAHAHA....There are no pros about living in that toilet state and city. My best advice is never go.
NEVERRRRRRRRRR! WORST PLACE I EVER LIVED! MOVING NEXT YEAR AND I CAN'T WAIT!
@@azaliahbarrington3189 …..Yeah it was already bad in 2015 when we bailed out of that state all together
@@calikalbocalikalbo6082 that's around the time I moved here from NYC... it wasn't just a culture shock but the folks here aren't my type of people 😒... idc what part you're in. This place gives me an itch. I have felt trapped in hell. Can't wait to move!
@@azaliahbarrington3189 …..Yeah, lived in CA for 58 years. Finally had to get out.
First of all. There's so much to do. You sound like someone that never leaves their neighborhood. Or your grandma's basement. Earn some money, and then I'll give you ideas. Troll
Fun fact: Sacramento has drag shows almost every night. Very LGBTQIA+ friendly ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎
