My favorite year for Ford. 1969 Fords are absolutely beautiful and drop-dead gorgeous.

The biggest one was always my type...even though they put the radio in a strange place!
This is when Ford made very beautiful cars that very well built and looked beautiful, the girls looked beautiful and ate healthy, only had variety of V8 options no EcoBoost crap, the sound of a V8 engine in those muscle cars will put smile on you're face, when gas was super cheap, and when America was still free.

We had a 1969 LTD, it was a nice looking car from what I recall and fast too. Those 429 V8's were underrated HP wise.
I liked things back then when you could get a 429 V8 in a four door model and fool everybody 👍

Ford had much to boast about. 1969 was a very good year for the automaker.
1969 was really outstanding year for all American car brands.
With their Sergio Mendez/ Fifth Dimension cheerleader MUSIC and voice overs, there is NO WAY they could compete with GENERAL MOTORS .Yes, they had THE MUSTANG MACH I , that's it in my opinion.

Everyone knows Petty was a Chrysler Dodge Plymouth man…Drove Ford in late sixties and back to Dodge..Pontiac briefly towards end of career.

He went to Ford because Chrysler wouldn't give him a Charger Daytona to race (They wanted him exclusively in Plymouth). He went back when they had the Superbird for him

Ford's "better idea" was to chop up the dash rather than just putting in seats that could be independently moved.
Bench seats were popular back then. Dashboards just ate up space.
They had split bench seats in '69 Ford just gave the driver all the controls, even the radio lol
