I feel heart broken every time I think about how the Ohio Conference destroyed this school and squandered such an asset. It could never be rebuilt this grand.

Always nice to attend alumni weekend because though the school has closed, the alumni are always like family and it's so wonderul to see long time friends and share memories and stories! I agree with so many others that it's disgusting to think about the total mismanagement of this wonderful school by the Ohio Conference of SDAs! If my company had ever failed, even a fraction of this much to manage one of our 600 properties across 35 states, people would have been held accountable and appropriate management individuals would have lost their jobs long before total failure! The Ohio Conference et this happen right under their noses, and act like they had no responsibility for what the school administration did! Shameful is too kind a description of the mismanagement, especially with all the money alumni had put into the renovation and all the effort of D. Twomley and the outstanding faculty he pulled together to restore the school only 10-12 years before its embarrassing demise!
Great credit to the alumni association for keeping the organization alive and coordinating a great alumni weekend each year!

Bittersweet to see my old alma mater (class of '66). So many memories . . . . walking up all those stairs each Sabbath to go to church . . . living on the 3rd floor of the old section of the girls' dorm . . . one of my classmates who submitted the name Hiawatha Hall for the "new" cafeteria . . . eating in the basement of the girls' dorm . . . before that, staying in tents & then in the basement of the boys' dorm each summer for camp meeting. Sad that the oldest academy in the US had to close :(
