We honestly don't know the window broke. Iain, the campsite owner was at least 400 yds away strimming. It might have been pressure related as we opened the door. The good news is that we have an appointment on Thursday to get it repaired.
Thanks for the quick response bob i'm slowly but surely going through your uploads really enjoying the riad trips with you jenny and poppy i'm off to france with you next thanks again bob.
Hahaha summer is nesrley here bob i'm sure there you&jenny and poppy will be taking us on new adventures you' know bob i wish i had the funds to buy a motorhome it would be wonderful to travel around and see our wonderful country then further afield europe perhaps but"i'll just content myself watching your tripd bob thanks for sharing mate.
We were on the island when you were, maybe we will see ourselves passing in the opposite direction ! Oh, another name for the clothes drier - a dolly. When I was a kid my Mum's was always dripping on everything, including the cooker - and me when I was bathed in the Belfast sink !
With this tour, I wanted to make a comment on the whole tour rather than every video, but this video is very good! Nice company having Bob and Aily and the doggies! Sometimes one shouldn't ponder too much on why a window broke... It tends to always leave a negative thought.
Lovely to see Bob and Aileen again. The dogs really have a good time together. Hope you get the window sorted out Bob. Enjoy the down time and relax a bit. Best wishes from us, 😊 Trev n Sue
I work with the council in the Scottish Borders, and in my time I have bust the van window twice, and put a couple of car windows in with strimmers, and I was a fair bit away from them.
So agree with other comment bob ,that darn strimmer can be many yards away ,change of wind direction ,then as you say even just a gentle slam of the side door would be enough. Ahh the joys ,see through plastic ,gaffer tape ......added to the emergency fix box. As we are used to seeing ,no setback stops bob x jenny😉 👍
Looks like a nice quiet site, and wonderful views. Sorry to hear about the window, that's a bit of a downer for you. Hope you're able to get it fixed soon. It was lovely seeing Poppy and the lamb checking each other out, I noticed Mum was watching them carefully! Also lovely to see the dogs having fun on the beach. Our lab (sadly no longer with us) used to love chasing after a ball, but would then just lay down with it, and start chewing it! She never got the concept of bringing it back for us to throw it again! That was a beautiful picture Ailleen (sorry if I've spelled her name wrong) took, absolutely stunning.
So sorry to hear about the window. Hope you get it sorted soon, and are safe in the meantime. Though bad luck for you it will be interesting to see how it gets sorted. Lovely footage of the islands, and thanks for the tour of the facilities Aileen - much appreciated as we hope to be heading that way later in the year.
In Yorkshire, the clothes airer or pulley is called a creel. Grew up with one in our kitchen which was always full of damp clothes on wash day (Monday).
Loved it! Three Westies in a caravan, all very familiar to me! My three (Angus, Isla and Jasmine) all pricked up their ears when they heard the dogs bark 😂Hope you get the window fixed quickly.
Rrrr what a shame about your window hope you get it sorted really enjoyed your footage driving along the roads it’s a trip me and my wife would love to do in our Motorhome 👍
it had to be the strimmer or the mower the workman here broke my windscreen last year using a strimmer but obviously not what you needed ,looks fantastic there nice and peaceful
I'm sure Bob spoke Scottish trying to open that gate 😀. Sorry about your broken window - these things seem to happen on the weekend or when you are nowhere near a repair place 😕
Sorry about that window Bob but looking on the bright side at least it is not winter ! I hope you still manage to enjoy yourselves with your friends and the dogs before you head off to get it repaired. Take care :D Teddy PS the three dogs look so cute together :d
Hi Guys, thanks for the video. Lots of driving lately? must admit im skipping these as its not that interesting to an overseas view.. but understand locals may find that useful :)
Sorry about the window Bob very upsetting. It put me in mind of an incident last year when my mower shot a small piece of gravel into my patio door and shattered the glass. Hope it doesn't spoil; your holiday. George.
If the window was shattered it sounds like an impact to me. If I was in a city I would suspect an attempted breakin but where you are maybe a projectile of some sort hit it.
Im not blaming anyone but i think you could be right! My Wives car windscreen got damaged by a strimmer. The stones come flying off at 100mph and travel quite far. My money is on the strimmer!
Thank you for another super video. So sorry about the window. We have an autocruise wentworth 2005. A lovely van with the swing wall shower but this week we have had to have MOT, service, bit of underneath welding done (we live near the sea!) and a new cam belt fitted, so I feel your pain! It is also insurance week and vehicle tax. Wouldn’t be without it though! Moorcroft looks lovely. Regards to bob and Aileen. A drunken live video coming up ??!!
Jenny Earnshaw oh miserable lot. It was hilarious. Hope you get back to the mainland ok and get the repair done. All character forming, as my dear mum used to say!
Bob could you recommend a good camera for taking footage. My next base camera only takes footage every two to three minutes on that cycle. My phone has too much movement. Is there a camera i can mount to screen that will give good footage. Your videos are brilliant. I also follow the travelling trolls Dan and Mazzy. kind regards Mark.
I use a GoPro Hero 7 for the driving views, stuck to the screen with a GoPro suction cup. I use a Hero 8 with a GoPro Shorty Stick for the rest. It has very good stabilisation and is nice and small. ruclips.net/video/iSmCBIFqbQw/видео.html

Have a look at 8.44 outside.Thats how your window broke!
Bob Earnshaw just a thought did you check you dashcam if it was activated on g sensor I know mine picks up the slightest bump or nudge
North Uist as is Harris are beautiful when the machair is in bloom, in June.
Westies love beaches, they're short legged fast runners!
Thanks for the quick response bob i'm slowly but surely going through your uploads really enjoying the riad trips with you jenny and poppy i'm off to france with you next thanks again bob.
Thanks, wish we were going with us too!

Dogs will sleep well. How glorious xxx

My thought about the window too, I'm getting it fixed, that's the important thing.
I love the kitchen for the campers great idea if weather turns they can go cook eat watch a movie. Yay we got to see inside the ladies :)

If your ever visiting Ireland visit Keem Bay on Achill Island west coast of Ireland

Yes, I used a little Gaelic when the window broke too. 😀

Yes, the Westies are great together.
The pulley is a Shiela Maid. I would not be without my antique one over the Rayburn.
Thanks, I'll tell Aileen.
Looks a great site sorry about the window Bob that would have been the strummer. Should not be used on a camp site hope you get it sorted 👍

We're OK now we have an appointment for repair tomorrow.
If the window was shattered it sounds like an impact to me. If I was in a city I would suspect an attempted breakin but where you are maybe a projectile of some sort hit it.
Maybe the stimmer flicked stone up and chipped window ?
Im not blaming anyone but i think you could be right! My Wives car windscreen got damaged by a strimmer. The stones come flying off at 100mph and travel quite far. My money is on the strimmer!
can you send the road repair company south, those roads look great. Sorry about the window but as you say accidents do happen

margaret lewis don’t think we’ll do a drunken live stream again, too many 👎s last time 🙂
Jenny Earnshaw oh miserable lot. It was hilarious. Hope you get back to the mainland ok and get the repair done. All character forming, as my dear mum used to say!
Bit of a downer with the window, fingers crossed for some luck 🤞🤞
Sorry to hear about your window. Hope it doesn’t mar your time on the Uists too much

Bob and Aileen stay at Uddingston.
Hi bob got me smart and trailer what size and make tie down kit do you use for your car on a trailer ? Loved your video by the way
We tow our VW Up! with an A-Frame. Have a look at ruclips.net/p/PLUi3rqw12j2q2q4KYGAnvYgnTiWI0cdiL
Having had a car side window put through a couple of years ago when we were having our land strimmed, I think there might be a suspect! 😉
Defo strimmer
👌🏿🐶🐶👌🏿
very expensive as there is nothing there
No nothing there, apart from gorgeous scenery, wilderness, friendly people, great food, fantastic beaches.
Arent you sick of capitalist materialism?
This is real
