Love Stryper and they're putting out great music to this day. "Soldiers Under Command" and "To Hell With the Devil" are classics from the 80s. To hear their newest music, check out "Do Unto Others".

Not just an 80s band but 90s, 200s and still going 2022 and beyond.
I've always loved Stryper and saw them in concert around 1986. They were pretty big in the 80's but this song was their only Top 40 hit. But they had a few music video hits on MTV -- check out "Calling on You" and "Always There for You." Their name comes from Isaiah 53:5 ... "By His stripes we are healed." They were famous for tossing Bibles into the audience during their concerts. Michael Sweet is known to have one of the best voices in rock music as well as being an excellent guitarist. From 2008-2011, he toured for the band Boston, after their lead singer had passed away. In 2012, Michael's wife (seen in the Honestly video) died of cancer and he remarried the following year.
I love Stryper! "Honestly" is one of my favorite songs. Thank you, this took me back to my high school days, and, I remembered every word.

Not just an 80s band. they're still going putting our a new album about every 2 years and they're getting heavier and "current". Should check out some of the newer stuff. But yeah Honestly is what put them in arena's back in the day for sure.
They've been at for 40 years now, a new album out not long ago. Saw them twice in concert late 80's, absolutely brilliant.

Stryper has toured Australia last year! And they toured there I believe 3 other times.

Stryper are still recording and touring today. You definitely should checkout some of their newer stuff. I recommend the songs "Revelation," "Marching Into Battle" and "Yahwey." Much heavier!

Patrol Calling On You or To Hell With The Devil are good ones also. They do have more rocking songs. This is just my favorite because that tenor of Michael Sweet is so dang good!

Stryper is an amazing heavy metal band w/excellent musicians, singers, & men of uncompromising Christian faith. They're actually in studio working on another album now, I understand. Lead singer & guitarist (Michael Sweet) & older brother is the drummer (Robert Sweet). Guys are in their 60s and still drawing crowds after 40 years. Very different look these days, but yellow/ black is still their signature style. I love pretty much all of their Fallen album (Yahweh, King of Kings, Fallen, etc). Other songs like Sorry, Divider, Transgressor, The Valley, Pride, Blood From Above, Soldiers Under Command, etc are really good, too.
Michael has also done some solo work plus some songs with George Lynch of Dokken which are good, too.

This reminds me of REO Speedwagon. I’m a sucker for ballads across all genres of music. This is not different.
Should check out their Take it to the Cross. Pretty much all of their songs are bangers. To Hell with the Devil, Calling on you, and Free got a lot of airplay on MTV back in the day.
They are going into the studio to record a new album in a couple weeks. I can't wait for it to come out.
Great song but now you need to check out their new stuff. New album just released last year. They have been going for over 30 yrs and as good or better today.

I don't have an issue with those at all but preachy and take you to church does get annoying sometimes

There's a good video with a debate between Stryper and an Australian pastor from back in the day. To Hell with the devil for one went double platinum. Calling on You was number 1 ahead of Bon Jovi. But there real legacy is half the people who bought their albums were non Christian and there is a countless list of those who became pastors, missionaries etc.
***Do yourself a favor and research this Band.... They were Amazing back then and are still Rocking recently... "IN GOD WE TRUST and TO HELL WITH THE DEVIL" albums were both Platinum selling Hits! Songs like "Always there for you... Calling on you... In God We Trust... FREE... and More than A Man... are some of their HIT Songs, you can't go wrong!!! Oh and the Rocking blonde-haired drummer back there Looking like (supermodel Farah Fawcett) is the lead Singers Brother! AMAZING CHRISTIAN BAND***
They just don't get the credit they so richly deserve.
