"This dude look like a final boss that you gotta beat on a video game"
And that he is. Joey.... RIP legend 💔
I came to say pretty much this XD But you said it better :)
He is a boss. RIP Joey
You'd love a live show. Corey is a master at crowd work. And it's safe. You'd be surprised. People are generally lookin out for each other. Anyone gets too stupid, they get set straight quick.
Everyone looks after each other at metal gigs, "if he falls we pick him up", if there's an asshole he's quickly dealt with, the unwritten rules that keeps us all safe.
@@marktoal6862 couldn’t have said it better! I was a terrified 16 yr old the first time I hopped in a pit at an Anthrax concert back in ‘92 and was amazed at how brutal yet polite and self policing it was! 30 yrs later and I still love the feeling of getting caught in a human tornado!
@@USMC-dm3ws damn right, young or old, we look after each other, it's the pain, the joy, the family, the respect.
@@marktoal6862 if everyone respected their families and picked up others in need , like a pit (minus a few douche bags here and there), imagine how much better our society would be! Much love, stay safe and keep rockin’!!
LOL...what's too stupid? Because if your in Iowa here...and the concert stadium allows moshing....blood and sweat...
That guitar riff creates tension; it's brilliant for the whole "jump up" release. 🔥🤘🏽
Joey, the greatest drummer to walk the face of this planet.
RIP
R.I.P. Joey, He always killed it!
Fuckin tragedy.
RIP to the greatest drummer in history
Rip brother Joey
RIP to Joey he was truly an amazing drummer, but what you say is just bollocks or you just haven't listened to any other music yet.
Mick thomson is playing "that Guitar riff" the beast in the silver mask
Its Jim root
@@ryanoshields7335 No, That's definitely Mick.
yeah it's Mick
Mick is good, but we all know Jim is the beast behind the guitar!
@@davidishmael9613 they are both good but mick is clearly playing that continuous riff while jim plays a couple leads before the 'jump the fuck up' part
I've had the pleasure of being able to "jump the fuck up" 6 times, and each one was epic. This is one of the reasons Slipknot is my second favorite band of all time.
I've only seen them at Download and in particular at this one and it was fantastic. I was not in the thick of it at the front, but still on the borderlines of the fun and it really was so epic.
since no one has asked yet, whos your favorite band? bc Slipknot has to be hard to beat lol
@@tylorbyrum824 I'll give you 2 guesses. Oh hell I'll just tell you. Metallica. Like many, I grew up absolutely idolizing Metallica (I'm 38 years old now so I started around the Black Album), main reason I also started playing the drums. While Slipknot has a whole different element, and I am probably more interested in Slipknot nowadays, I can't knock down Metallica from the top.
I've seen Slipknot live 5 times already and I have such a great time every time I go.. Slipknot fans are known as maggots I've been a maggot since 96
since 96, really?... are you sure?
@@Skeware sure am I I even have the MFKR album
@@adriangonzales3754 you got their demo MFKR in 96? That's cool. First time I listened to Slipknot was in 1999, their first album made me a fan of them instantly
oops poser spotted lol
Brain full of maggots that's for sure.
I was once at a drowning pool concert at good time charlies in tupelo, ms. They stopped about 10 seconds into step up and announced "there's a tornado heading this way" the crowd went silent for a couple seconds then started cheering. As the band was talking with someone off stage the crowd started chanting "fuck it, fuck it, fuck it" the band came back, got into position, and said "fuck it, if we're going down we're going down together" and resumes playing. A rock/metal concert is like nothing you've ever experienced, like being on another planet.
10:20 RIP to one of the greatest metal drummers to touch a kit
There's concert etiquette, no one would hurt ya.. nicest crowds ever!! Yes wild, but usually peeps are cool
Yeah one time a dude I went to a festival with pushed me out of nowhere in to a circle and I fell down on the ground. Then some big dude just grabed my back and picked me up while still running. We did not remain friends for long.
First slipknot concert I went to in 2001 I was 15, and someone pushed me towards the pit and I stopped short, he said “what you don’t want in lol?” And I looked at him and told him I was 15 and he just kinda pulled me back a little farther so I didn’t get pushed in by accident by someone else. Seriously could’ve gotten hurt, saw 3 people get pulled out on stretchers. But the fact that he pulled me back was awesome.
Concert Etiquette yes but their will be people that will hurt you. It’s not very common though.
UNLESS you go to any hardcore show…
honestly kinda depends on the band and the type of crowd they attract. Only concert I got hurt at was a papa roach concert where I got knocked over from behind, someone tripped on me, someone else tripped on them, and I wound up with a few bruised ribs buried under what looked like 20 or 30 guys with some of them being hauled out on a stretcher. Come to find out that's not unusual for papa roach.
Apparently limp bizkut concerts can get pretty ugly too.
Bullshit. I've gotten a broken ankle one time in a mosh pit.
Slipknot shows are insane but everyone looks out for one another, it's beautiful. Check out Corey Taylor on his own, particularly his unplugged shows. He has another band called Stone Sour, the dude has chops and a totally different side to him outside of that Slipknot aggression.
Rule 1 in the pit: If someone falls down, help them up
Rule 2: Don't be a dick
Rule 3: Everyone has fun
You'd be welcome. ^_^
Rule 4: if someone is hurt/sick, you get them to the front. (security or the medic.)
Rule 5: if someone doesn't want to be in the pit or the wall, you NEVER force them in.
Rule 6: help each other however you can.
Rule 7: don't be a creep. The dads and uncles don't play that. They have no problem knocking folks out for doing inappropriate stuff i.e. ripping a girl's shirt down.
Oh boy
Here we go
How is it that I’ve seen this 30 times, and I still get goosebumps?
Joey we love you..rest in peace brother
R.I.P joey, this was the shit greatest band ive seen live hands down
Love seeing shows with Paul Gray still rockin 🤘🤘 RIP
Everyone looks out for one another at shows like this. I know you'd have a blast. I was fortunate enough to take part in this at Welcome to Rockville in 2015. It was a hell of an experience. I hope you do this at least once in your lifetime, even if it's not a Slipknot show.
I’m looking forward to Knotfest this year!
@@christym1974 cries in Canadian 😂🇨🇦
Aftershock in 2015 for me!
@@kaylynn714 same here, im from BC
Rest in peace, joey jordison. Best drummer I've ever seen live. I got to see his platform spin in person. It was an amazing experience.
They do the jump the fuck up at every concert. They are a amazing Live band.
RIP #1 Joey Jordison, heaven got a master, every time I hear thunder I'll know its you up there rocking out.\m/
You would love the energy a Slipknot show has man, my wife hates my music but lives the shows because the people and the atmosphere is unmatched! You need to go my friend!
If you want to buy any slipknot tshirt/hoodie/mug.. You can buy from here: teesluv.com/slipknot
Dude, you’d love every minute of it!! Just a party for everyone!!! Don’t let anyone tell ya different!
You don't have to be a fan of their music to go to a concert and just have one of the memorable nights ever.
I agree
Seeing your excitement is how the crowd is but amplified! Everyone is family, we are all there to let out life's aggression together as one. It's magical.
Yep, that's Corey. You should check out stuff from 99-2001 before he blew out his voice. And his other band Stone Sour if ya haven't (I Just found your channel)
"Like the final boss in a video game"
Thank you for that.
Lol
This concert is iconic in the metal world.
It's the metal equivalent of Radiohead's legendary Glastonbury set. It was just perfect in every way.
Joey, the drummer just passed away less than a week ago💔 RIP Joey! See you on the flip side Brother❤
Nahh dude, you got it all wrong. People at metal concerts go crazy yes, they release pent up energy and aggression, but it's safe, and it's not crazy. If you stay out of the mosh pits, you will be fine. Metal heads are a tight nit group. You show up, you will be one of them.
If you want to buy any slipknot tshirt/hoodie/mug.. You can buy from here: teesluv.com/slipknot
I was in the mosh pit for System of a Down, right at the front. I'm only 5' and when they came on and started with Prison Song I kept getting pushed into the gate and I couldn't breath and I started falling. Fellow moshers picked me up and I crowd surfed to a safer spot in the pit. Metal heads are amazing 🤘
@@SpiralOut8. That is what the mosh pit is all about. To go crazy. You might get an elbow to the face, or nocked down, but not on purpose, and people will stop to help you.
When i saw slayer in 2017 on their farewell tour everybody was super nice. It was my first concert ever at 20 years old. My best friend bought me a margahrita and the guy in front of me offered his hitter and we were blazed up throughout the slayer set! Great fucking time. Edit: since it was my bday soon my best friend also bought me a shirt from the merch store! One of the best nights of my life :)
Having seen well over a hundred concerts and easily in the top 3 moments was first time seeing Slipknot, at a festival (Carolina Rebellion 2015), and the "jump the fuck up!" moment of this song! Another poster mentioned it being cathartic. Absolutely is! Looking forward to seeing their show this October in Raleigh.
I saw them twice at Knotfest in Hartford, CT and I have never had more energy leaving a show than when I got there than I have after seeing these guys!
They are absolutely a bucket list band! Their shows are AMAZING! I've seen them twice and both times was absolutely worth it!
No one gonna talk about his reaction to seeing Craig? 😂
Lmao
Clown fear
Their shows are a blast. I saw Slipknot with System of a Down, Rammstein, and Mudvayne back in 2002. I've never been so exhausted after a show. Not sure I've ever been so hammered either.
Dude that is the craziest line up, rammstein is known for being pyromaniacs😂
Slipknot X SOAD X Rammstein =🤩
That sounds like one if the best possible lineups. Glad you enjoyed it!
Slipknot is my favorite band. Enjoy going down the rabbit hole with Slipknot. It's a wild ride.
"this aint nothin but a good time" - Most accurate description of a Slipknot concert.
Bro. Definitely hit a Slipknot show if you get the chance. You'll be fine. You'll have a blast, and everyone looks out for everyone.
Having been in that crowd this show was epic. It was cramped getting down but seemed to get more space when everyone jumped up
I was lucky enough to be a part of that crowd, one of the most memorable moments of my life!!🤘
Layed me out when you said "Come on Sting" 🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
Lmaooo
I was 10 years old when I saw them with my dad. Everyone was very cautious of me and if anyone bumped into me they always made sure they didnt fuck me up lol. They have a great fan base.
Slipknot kicks ass ........ R.I.P. Joey Jordison Drummer founder of band and as slipknot fans know him as 1
I have experienced the "Zero Bullshit" like 4 or 5 times. Everytime feels like the 1st time. Moshpits are an adrenaline rush BUT, the people in the pit are all about protecting each other. You fall, you get picked up and everyone around is making sure your ok. Metalheads are the most awesome fans!!
"YOU GUYS ARE FUCKIN AMAZING OUT THERE!" .....thank you...thank you. lol
This is how metal heads are born. Cheers!
You would have a blast this is my 12 year daughter's favorite band I'm taking her to knotfest this weekend to see them I can't wait so excited
You sir just earned yourself a sub thank you for doing this reaction
Dude was like What’s happening… I’m like just wait Lol
Slipknot starts a tour in September. R.I.P. Joey Jordison
The panda mask is a reference to coreys(lead singer) old mask and face paint. The paint under his old dummy masks “looked like a panda”
Saw them live with Rammstein late 90's early 2000's
Same the pledge of allegiance tour for me
Micks on rhythm and Jim is on lead. RIP Joey on drums
I have seen Slipknot like 10+ times, first time I saw them they were a nobody and they stole the show from Dope and Coal Chamber. First time they did this was insane. Too many people in the crowd to sit, most people get down on one knee and leaning on those around you! It is intense and can be painful but is so much energy and craziness and so much fun! I also remember the first time Joeys drums raised tilted and spun... That one was bad I almost got knocked out cause I was in a trance staring at Joey spin and never miss a beat when the crowd was going crazy! Still love it and they are awesome, I just miss when they done the small venues instead of arena shows though!
RIP Joey, we love and miss you brother!!!
I was in that crowd,... Best night of my life!
i miss joey's snare so much
Watching these after Joey has passed is an emotional rollercoaster.
R.I.P Joey
if you wanna see a cool drum setup check outs tommy lee roller coaster . first time a drumkit did that was tommy lee in early 90's

“Joey! Let’s take these motherf**kers home man!” 😔
There's a video of Corey singing have you ever seen the rain by ccr....its crazy to think this guy screaming sick metal can also pull off classic rock but he nails it
this is one of the most amazing versions of corey singing i think
ruclips.net/video/QBK6xymmKHM/видео.html
Joey was something special rip 🕊 legend
The drummer Joey Jordisan in this video died a few days ago
Great reaction! If you want to see some other sides of Corey Taylor, try Song No3 acoustic version by Stone Sour, Wicket Game (Chris Isaak cover) by Stone Sour or Corey Taylor performing Snuff live and acoustic in London.
Greetings from Germany
JUST KEEP WATCHING BROOOO! LOL!
I know others have said this but definitely go to a Slipknot concert! It looks like violence and chaos but its 99.7% people having a great time, if you fall down in the pit they'll help you up. You may get a few jerks but they're usually weeded out and booted from the venue. If you're not into the mosh stuff just stand near the back of the general admission area or buy a seat. I've been going to see them since 2000 and I'm now nearing 40 and still love going. Corey Taylor is easily one of the all time best front men of any band. Slipknot live is an experience, they always bring it! After seeing so many of these reaction videos (which I have watched probably 100 of haha) I hope it encourages new fans to come out, everyone's welcome! I've got tickets for October, my wife is going for the first time. Lets just hope Covid doesn't rain on that parade. And I've actually seen Corey kick a guy out who was being a dick at a Stone Sour concert...he was pissed since he was treating a female fan improperly.
Best rock group ever never estimine slipknot
Bro yes! Its such a good time. And yep exactly what metal is all about- releasing frustrations.
Just as a piece of info from someone who has gone to download Festival 9 years, all but 2 were back to back, I was at this show and it felt just as good as you imagine.
I want to re assure you of something, download festival is a super accepting space, we don't give people shit if they are dressed as themselves, being themselves, I don't know if you thinking you'd get hurt in some way was a fear we'd be racist maybe? But in my experience travelling with people of colour and with only other white people, that I never heard a racist word out of a single person and any time someone messes with someone else they get quickly dealt with, alternative festivals have always in my experience brought out a lot of the best in most people, you'd be welcome right along side us bouncing around or smashing into each other in the mosh pit, you would be so very welcome. Please come and enjoy a rock/metal show of some type when covid finally leaves, you'll love it, the atmosphere is electric.
I fuckin love this my guy!!
I've definitely been in the pit until I've almost passed out a few times now.
You go so hard and just don't want to leave! Not for a drink, not for a proper breathe of fresh air.
I WAS THERE A MASSIVE FAN OF SLIPKNOT 🙌❤ENGLAND 🇬🇧,
You really need to watch the whole concert ,joey on drums his chair and drum kit spins and rotates up in the air .YES THATS COREY TAYLOR
Talking about crowd control....
You definitely don't wanna wear a nice pair of shoes in a mosh pit. Learned that one the hard way.
No one would kill you bro, if you fell over you'd be picked up before you hit the deck!
If you want to buy any slipknot tshirt/hoodie/mug.. You can buy from here: teesluv.com/slipknot
Welcome to the land of the maggots.
"Not the porcupine head.." 😂
This is so out of my stuff that i listen too... But imagine being there... Crazy.. Absolutely mental..
They are going to release their new album soon which means a tour will follow. You should go. It'll be an experience you'll never forget.
Yasssssssss. I am 58 and already have my tix to JUMP UP at Knotfest 2021. I took my teen daughter to the last Knotfest and she was dying to mosh for thr first time. Several people took her and watched out for her. She loved it! She will tell that story to her kids one day. Being in the crowd and jumping up is a super rush. Can't wait! 🔥🤘🏿🖤🤘🏻🔥
I absolutely would tbh
Yo homie slipknot be fucking jamming...
And it does look fun I will be there front row seat VIP tickets when they come to Tampa Florida in October...
I might be the only nigga there...🤣😂
And Corey traylor be spittin...
You gotta look up the lyrics as you listen to the songs..
“Jump the fuck up” is literally the best part of the show, and also the best excitement one can experience-concert or not. I get amped even listening to it…been 4 times and as a 110 pound tiny girl-I feel safe. People “look” unapproachable but they are all super nice, and no one (most anyway. A few assholes always everywhere) is out to hurt anyone and honestly- I got kicked in the head once and total strangers came to back my husband up when the guy who did it started shit. But anyway. Go. Enjoy. Feel that energy first hand-if you get hype from a video, just imagine in person!
I got to do this with 80k people at welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville Florida
everyone : blacks only like rap, hiphop and R and...*shivers*B...
Me: a black man listening to metal? HIT ME UP
Nah you wouldn't die, you'd of had the best fucking time of your life... unfortunately the drummer and the bassist aren't with the group anymore as they have passed... and they were two of the most loved members.
You’ll be fine bro! We all look out for each other someone falls you pick them up!
Yea... if you don't know the lyrics already, don't expect to catch anything on live videos LOL I know what they are saying and STILL find it hard to understand when is live. Guess because he is tired, screaming all day, his voice is not at that place, and so on.
If you want t understand the words to the songs, you should listen to the recordings (the official videos have are the official recordings as well).
4:52 is always my favorite part that's where it turns from casual headbanging to trying to snap your neck type headbanging lol
Joey jordison is the drummer.
the amount of adrenaline that corses through you during this breakdown is nothing short of cathartic
Hell I felt it thru the screen I can only imagine
Trust me brother, 🕊 Joey Jordison 🕊 was definitely a final boss, but in real life
And Mick Thomson is the beast riff guy
I was there man, it was the best live music experience I’ve ever had. RIP Paul Grey, RIP Joey Jordison.
9:12 no it’s not gotten down like sad it’s a get down on your knees and when he says Jump the fuck up you have to jump the fuck up it’s a slipknot tradition they do that at every concert trust me I’ve been to eight
Slipknot concerts are like an orgasm for the mind. You just leave going “what the fuck was that??” 😂
Man believe me, it's fun as fuck.
You might get hurt but it's more like roughhousing with a brother or mate. People look out for you and you look out for them, anyone getting too rough or violent gets sorted. Keep the elbows down and ya generally good.
metal heads are the coolest kindest people you will ever meet if you fall down in the mosh pit you will be picked up within .3 seconds if you get knocked out you will get picked up and crowed surfed to the medic tent (this happened to me at Download 2007)
Face it Dude, you were made for SlipKnot, Come on in 'All Welcome'...Maggot69
Damn that's gotta suck having to wear a mask and preforming but love slipknot not my 1st choice genre but I'll rock it to them they're badass
You would think you would die but you really wouldn’t... if you fall down people help you up, if you need to smoke people gotcha, if you need a beer people gotcha, it’s that type of crowd man. Metal people are intense but always a good crowd.
If you fall in the crowd, people will pick you up. Getting hurt happens but that is not the goal. This crowd is rowdy but not dangerous.
“Where is the captions?!?!” 😩😮💨😂 hit oddly hard love the video solid reaction.
Metal concert energy are unmatched. I've gone to countless shows makes other Genre's boring..straight up
