    North American Arms Sentinel - When it comes to concealed carry revolvers, North American Arms is one the first guns that comes to mind. If you want to carry a pocket gun, the smallest gun is a NAA mini revolver. This new Sentinel from NAA is chambered in .22 magnum and is a cross between a NAA PUG and a NAA Sidewinder. When it comes to a 22 caliber revolver, the North American Arms is the best for carry. In today's video on Nightwood Guns, I review the North American Arms Sentinel along with covering why a mini revolver is a good choice for discreet concealed carry.

    I had a very old model of one of these. At one point, the hammer refused to cock. I sent it back to NAA and they replaced several parts at zero cost. They stand behind their products, and that really means a lot.

    Cheers to your dad for normalizing teaching firearms to kids. I'm gonna editorialize a little bit here but... the biggest problem with firearm violence isn't access to guns, it's that there's no generational passing down lessons of accountability and safety. Back in the day, kids handled guns all the time. Guns were available for sale in gas stations and hardware stores and kids would bring rifles to school and stick them in their locker to shoot later during marksmanship classes and hunter safety class. I remember being in 4H and shooting guns all the time.
    Why was there no epidemic of gun violence back in those years? Because we had fathers and father figures teaching us that life is sacred and that if you wanted to use a firearm, you had to shoulder that burden of responsibility. YOU were culpable every time the gun went off. That meant constant vigilance and awareness. I am more likely to forget my own first name than the four cardinal rules of firearms safety. It was drilled into my head, I couldn't touch a gun until I proved I was worthy. That, coupled with an upbringing that taught morality and reverence for life, means it was always understood I'd never turn a gun on another person, except in extreme emergency, and I've been surrounded by guns, safely, ever since.
    Again, I applaud your dad. I applaud my grandfather, uncles, scout leaders, 4H leader, hunters safety teachers, the few based high school teachers I had who were sportsmen themselves... every man teaching boys how to be men gets my respect. 2A isn't anything to be feared, it's the cornerstone of liberty. The only thing we need to worry about is a generation who doesn't respect life or know how to use guns in the first place. Sorry for rambling, just my two (more like four or five 😂) cents on the topic.

      Gonna lay out a hammer, wrench, gun, and some other tools on the ground in the garage and explain it like this “these are all tools, they have many purposes , and all can be deadly if used incorrectly “.

    I have carried one of these for 30 plus years as a hideout weapon or weapon of last resort when all else fails . My carry style was in a neck holster made of kydex that only allowed it to be carried when the revolver was in the " safe " position . Luckily never had a reason to use it but people must remember it is a up close and personal weapon and shot placement is most important .

    Great Review! I was really hoping to get one called a couple times and emailed their marketing person. As a bigger guy was wondering if it would fit in my jeans watch pocket which sometimes get a speedstrip. As armed security I've worked places like banks or armored cars where armed robbers may get drop on you, disarm and put face down or on knees to execute. In tactical pants there are many sub pockets it could go and like you said in NPEs. It looks like Federal Punch is going deeper and expanding more than others in vids I've watched. Swing out cylinder is a game changer for me no reason not to shoot a few cylinders every range trip w some CCI. Oh, I went for a ride along in a murder capital when I was 17....well we pulled over a car out of state plates 5 heads in it trunk sinking towards ground. They very seriously asked me if I know how to use a pump as the two detectives got out for approach. Later we got a big building fire on approach I yelled at em to back up....I spotted the stick w rag and accelerant to start the arson fire. Story of your dad triggered that memory being left w the pump gun. @northamericanarmsinc

You don't want to get shot at all with this mini gun. It's not a big punch, but it will stop and surprise whoever wants to challenge you. At least if it's for self-defense. Awesome review. I've had a little NAA minimag for like 15 years or so and I've carried it in my pocket many times as a backup or when I couldn't easily carry another pistol. With just a little practice, you can make consistent pie-plate/vital-zone-sized groups from 7 yards at combat speed even without a rear sight... I've always thought the pug and sidewinder were cool but never felt I could justify another tiny gun until I saw this new little guy. Yeah, the top break ones are so cool! It’s just a potential problem that the latch is right in front of the hammer so it’s possible you can accidentally open the gun while cocking it in a hurry 😅 And yes, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a forgotten gem!

      @25yearstolate at 5 yards or less, I seriously doubt there is going to be an appreciable difference in terminal ballistics. You could argue that an ice pick sized hole straight into tissue might cause less trauma than a shorter but wider, end over end spinning, projectile. It's a hold out pistol, no matter what, guy.

    The NEW Pocket Revolver from NAA - Sentinel .22 Magnum
    When it comes to a 22 caliber revolver, the North American Arms is the best for carry. In today's video on Nightwood Guns, I review the North American Arms Sentinel along with covering why a mini revolver is a good choice for discreet concealed carry
    Any "rimfire" cartridge by the nature of its internal primer pad that can and does dislodge causing misfires is not reliable enough for self defense but if its all you have then its better than nothing. No its not a good choice for concealed carry.

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  Месяц назад

      It's a good choice for its intended application: better than no gun at all or as a discreetly stashed back-up gun. I was clear in my video that it is not a good choice in comparison to nearly any other firearm.
