FL Studio Hotkeys & OTHER SECRETS nobody told you about
What’s your go-to hotkey or hidden feature of FL Studio?
Alt+U chop on piano roll
and the ctrl shift left click to select specific notes
can y'all make the all plug-in bundle FL STUDIO rent to own please?
Ctrl z
Ctrl + alt + z if you want to go back more than once
this guy is a bank of knowledge
Yaa exactly bruh gems for new upcoming producers
2:49 F12 actually closes every open window in a project. I use it all the time and it's pretty useful for cleaning up fast.
You got it bro...i always use that.😜😜😁😁👍👍☮️☮️☮️
that's a life saving hotkey for me
If you add the Alt key to that you'll only close the plugins and samples so you dont have to reopen the mixer and stuff
@@djillalibenchaib THTS A CPU SAVING HOTKEY FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@manishbhat5626 especially when guys like serum and ozone are popping-up
Man this guy seems so nice I'd totally like to just be friends with him
dont friendzone the poor man
too nice. he probably knows he's recording
This man is so fucking nice. And he’s literally GIVING us all this info cause he genuinely wants us to improve. Thank you brother🙏🏽
its totally in the manual , and a hell of a lot more , there's a shortcut for every key on the keyboard, every key + ctl, every key + alt . every key + shift, and there's different shortcuts for inside the piano roll, playlist, mixer, channel rack, browser, etc, and its all on one page of the manual if yo click F1
BRUH when you did that whole snare sample history thing I was like.......WHAAAA 5:07
Forgot the most important ctrl+s
Lol true
@@saurabhranpise9040 it saves your project
@Beaj I do it at work during the day, writing emails etc. For all the years people are making fun of me.
That’s because he probably bought his version of fl and it doesn’t crash 🤣
@@FilipFelli hahahahaha
2:56 ctrl+b isn't paste. ctrl+b just duplicates what's been already selected directly in front of it
ctrl+v is always paste
yea and you can even ctrl+b without selecting anything
I scrolled down to see if anyone else noticed that! Ctrl+V pastes, but i hardly use it cause it never pastes things where I want it to. Is that just me?
@@imsonoided it's easier to select and shift+drag notes in the piano roll imo. but copy and paste is very useful if you first select the little green box to the right of the channel name in the channel rack. then you can copy and paste whole melodies between channels without even opening the piano roll.
@@capncook5872 if you ctrl b without having selected anything, the entire midi information gets duped instead.
@@ileryon4019 yup and that's exactly what he was doing in the vid. you can do it with just ctrl+b instead of ctrl+a, ctrl+c and then ctrl+b.
This video should come attached to all FL Studio software. Very underrated video.
art is the kind of teacher that everybody loves, he truely cares for his students. Thank you Sir xoxoxo
Finally a video like this that does not tell super basic stuff that everyone probably already know just to make view but an actual unusual list of less known things
2:49 F12 does something, it is a smart way of saving CPU, if you realised, you should be closing/minimizing the playlist, and you should probably see ALL your plugins you didn't close in the background. Pressing F12 closes them all, therefore, you should have a better performance when your producing. Especially, Serum, Xfer Serum is a powerful synthesized and having a lot can spoil the CPU.
I'm just OCD and am now realizing after 13 years, I do exactly this 😆 good to know, now that I got a f*ckin machine that's gotten with the times ⌚️ ⏱️ 🕛 ⏳️
...just wish I knew that when I started on a '01 hp duo core .0001GHz 2GB RAM 🦕 🦖 🐢 I couldn't use more than 3 or 4 downloaded VST's cuz she would start studdering n clipping like a mug. I would sometimes have to create a new project, recreate my melody with that VST, save and export as a WAV, then go back to my original project and use that WAV file as my melody 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 I'd even goto my computer settings, system, performance, and change the profile to "performance" & it'd have to reboot and come back on looking like a moth*f*ckin 1986 Gateway (DELL predecessor) operating system 😭😭😭I'm dyinggg ahhh the good ol remake days, the struggle is real 🤡💯❤🤷♂️
this is one of the most useful videos I've ever seen, thank you very much
Thanks splice for making tutorial on fl studio 😁🙏🙏🙏💞💞.....💜💜❤️

It's crazy
Thank you! I was floored when I seen all those plug-in presets in Wiselab and youlean browser folder.
this dude is hella sympathical! super smooth to watch and filled with the good stuff!
On that last tip, export the project as a project bone. Then you can pull EVERYTHING the project into you own, mixer, midi, even the color scheme...everything!!
This my fifth time coming back to this video for just one project
BRO THAT SAMPLE HISTORY TRICK
I LOVE YOU
So many of these are exact solutions to problems I run into all the time; thank you for posting this🙏
That truncated note shit was a game changer
11:12 that cat tho
i love this guy, he is so nice explaining
Haha messed around with the humanizer and ended up writing a whole song in an hour. Love that dark sound.
I cried at 5:00
man you are a blessing, usually when yo watch a video thats called "secret hotkeys in fl", they gon hit you with the ctrl c/v/b and shit but you had like real gems thanks man
DUDE THIS IS SUPER USEFUL DAWG! Thank you fr!
MAN THAT MELODY AT 10:00 IS CRAZY, PLZ DO A INSTRUMENTAL WITH IT !!
this is life saving
Some of these tips are just ridiculously useful, how could I never have known this stuff???!!!
cause you dont look at the Manual and take the time to read it so you know everything 😑🙄
xoxo RTFM 😉
@@Steveness100 everything explained here is in the manuel 🙄
There's like 3 mindblown moments for me watching this vid.
Especially that sample history thing. Thank you for the amazing tips!
F12.. Closes all open vst.
yessss
really dope video , i mean i knew the patcher part and a few others but majority of the rest is crazy thank you for taking your time to help us fl prducers out
Use the phaser as automation clip. High to low for a groovy intro, break, full in, or outro.
You missed F12. It closes all the active plugins. So if you have multiple plugins and windows open, hit f12 and bam, you need not to close them individually.
How do we active them again?
Hit the f12 again?
@@VictorEdwards open them up individually again
@@HacketIN that sounds like pain in the @ss.....
@@VictorEdwards yeah, you will need to open the instance again by clicking on the channel or mixer, but it does help when you need a clean workspace.
@@VictorEdwards it doesn't activate anything, it just clears your workspace
This is one of the best tutorials I've seen for FL on YT. Great job!

those are my favorite buttons.
wow, didnt expect to learn that much new about FL. Really good video!!!
Thank you so much for this! 🙌🙌
Patcher is so underrated. Awsome video
Ctl+V=paste
Ctl+B=Duplicate
SUPER SUPER Helpful video. I find myself coming back to this video.
The Patcher tip just opened my eyes something crazy.
Thanks for this video this is exactly what I needed. Now I'm finally going to be able to get the most out of Fl Studio 20. Looking forward to reviewing all your videos. Keep up the good work we appreciate you.
F12 does something, say if you open a project and found all plugins and effects open as mess on screen, you can press F12 to close them all once instead of closing one by one.
5:14 🤣🤣Great tutorial bro. I'm a lone time user and i still learned a few things. Thank you
God bless you ibeenart
Yo guy! Big ups and thanks..! That shift+q tip just came in handy. Again, thanks a lot man..! Keep it up.
ibeenart put me on a bunch of fl tricks when he was still making videos for internet money. he really been there for me.🔥😂
My favourite hotkeys in Fl are cttrl+shift and drag to select and shift +drag to copy. works in the playlist and in the channel rack
Ctrl + V is to paste, Ctrl + B is duplicate.
Duplication will snap to the end of the last note, so if you wanna duplicate a specific region, you have to select it and then duplicate.
😧😧 i never thought of using the effects on the demos. I been using FL since it first came out and it never crossed my mind.
Bruh I been looking for that shift + D shortcut for a while! thanks yall!
0:55 that's what I need
Best Short cut Video out there 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I like the way he laughs, how happy he seems. Amazing!!!
you are so nice.. more of these please
Absolute game changer ,, dope FL studio tips and tricks. Thanks alot Bro👍👍👍
thanx this video is really helpful especially the last thing about project files
5:00 is 💪🏽
Bro your tutorials on splice are always golden. Plus they are FL Studio based which is clutch.
This video is just GOLDEN!! Thank You To The Woman Who Birthed This Man!!
That was the best video about FL Studio I’ve ever seen dude!
aint seen this yet but already know this is the sauce.
You're wrong bro, ctrl v is paste, and ctrl b is to duplicate, you could have also told everyone about the cool function of pressing --- alt + u, for the hihats, you can press this function to allow yourself to split a note, for the case of if your magnet snap is set to 1/16, you'll know that you cant reduce the note any further unless you hit alt u, then you can get those super fast hihats that you hear in trap beats, so like [hit][empty][hit][empty] on the hits those are your four boxes in a step, you split the note in those two hit boxes to get that quick ts ts sound, and if you do the split idea on the last two boxes in the 2nd step in the beginning, which you'll hear me to in my songs all the time, youll get a fast hihat roll
Many gold nuggets in this video. Thanks!
Good staff homie!
GREAT TUTORIAL PICKED UP 3 GEMS TO ENHANCE MY WORKFLOW!!!!

Thanks a ton for sharing the knowledge appreciated more than you known. God Bless
That sample history blew my mind. There's always something new to learn in fl. Damn...
The flaing her before the reverb!
wow man those are real hot keys, incredible!
Collect all your samples into your project folder. Can’t remember the shortcut on FL, maybe even create a zip of the project in the directory you’ve saved your project into
Thanks for that, never knew there was this sample history in the sampler, I accidently lost a sample so many time, that would surely be really usefull in the future :)
Also, for all your render (and audio recording), instead of using the default FL folder (or any folder you choose), you can instead set your project to have its own folder. Like that you have everything for this or that project located at the same place and so no rish to have a wrong render loading if you move everything. It's in the option menu/project general setting and you change the data folder. It will ask you if you want to save the project in that folder too. So instead of having a folder with all your project and your sample in another project, you can have a folder for each project. It's almost like using the save as rar function for exporting a project :)
Yeah I use that too
For the record , CTRL - V = paste.... CTRL - B = Duplicate ...just tryn to help.. nothin but Respect and thankx for your info vidz my man.. Happy Holidaze to you and yours
Wow fam it was some hidden vst. I didn't know that. You showed me a lot. Big like on this video 👍👍👍
Love the tips, Love the energy Fam💯
Bro... I have changed laptop 4 times.. the only time I had a problem opening a project was in the last one.. was that was because it only have the drive C:...
is like this. Every time you install it in a new PC what you need to worry is that all your stuff are in the exact same place in the new PC, because the project is gonna load from those locations as it’s code written or something that it was saved in those locations.. make sure you transfer everything from “recorded” “rendered” “and other folders.. other exemple is.. I have presets from a vst loading from Documents/Native instruments/“the vst folder”/presets and from the same vst loading from Steinberg/VSTplugins/“the vst folder (the one with the dll.)” and presets..
And had to save the same presents in the same locations. Same with kits loops and etc..
Amazing video, keep up bro
This was so so helpful. Thank you!
Very true about the project file demo 🔥
Dude, the right click to replaced sounds is fucking amazing. That's what I needed dude. Huge thanks, man. Like.
I remember watching an older video and you introduced patcher to me 🙏🏼🙏🏼 so dope thank you for these!!
That last tip tho that was actually clever
It's hard not to watch his videos, 🔥🔥🔥🔥 everytime.
The FX slots on the mixer work going from 1 through to 10 and is processed in that order. So say if you have an EQ in slot 1 and reverb in slot 2 the processed sound from the EQ will affect the reverb. But if you had reverb in slot 1 and EQ in slot 2 the reverb will be applied before the EQ. A tip from me is to add the EQ after the effects so that things such as distortion and compression won't add any frequencies that have been cut.
Omg I needed this all my life thank u so muchhhh
That's really dope bro. Thank you.
pretty dope !! this video has blew my mind
Been waiting for this for a while now... Bro doesnt disappoint on giving gems n tips ...thx splice for having him 🔥
