The symbolism of Clive throwing his sword through Ultima at the end of the fight. This is the first time we _ever_ see Clive without a sword during battle... and he finishes the fight with a punch that deals 99999 damage, thus solidifying that it wasn't his magic power, or his skill with a sword, or the Eikons that made him strong. Rather it was Clive, as a person, who possessed the strength required to save humanity all along.
Ending a weapon-centric fight by punching the big bad in the face always felt very personal to me.
Well, you just made this incredible fight even better for me.
It’s the same thing with the Barnabas fight and fighting as men instead of eikons
Humanity may have tools of war but things are real when hands are thrown.
Cool anime sword went swoosh.
The irony, about complaints about how there is no party system in this game and it’s just all about one character when the entire climax is a result of Clive calling upon all those who were there along the way.
I don’t really see irony it’s more about how they pass on their ideals, thoughts, and things spiritually. Clive even says he Carries them with him and that’s why he’s able to keep moving.
@@yeettm8014 sorry, I mis-typed. I meant more of the irony of people complaining that there is no party system and the game is focused on one character when it’s not at all true.

The hardest title drop of all time
I shed tears throughout the whole fight. It was that epic.
There's two things i learned in this game:
Clive doesn't speak much, but when he does shit is about to get down
The phoenix cannot heal Ultima's pride since Clive ROASTED the hell out of him for the entire boss fight
Best protag ever hands down
Every Final Fantasy Final Boss Theme: is about the Villain
Final Fantasy XVI: Final Boss theme is about the Hero
Real shit man, all other final boss final phase bgm are mostly menacing latin chanting, in this game it is an encouraging heroic bgm, as if pushing the back of the players that you are almost there. Fucking love it so much.

Clive called them by name, while Ultima merely called their powers. Clive sees the Eikons as partners while Ultima only saw them as tools.

For me Ultima is the best FF villain ever. I absolutely feel him. Would i create an ant colony and they suddenly start talking with me and demanding stuff i would also panic. And i definetely not consider them to be strong enough to actually best me until its to late.
Yeah hopefully he comes back in a game that has a story.

Yup! Exactly. Similar to how “fear not the” lyrics have to do with Clive acquiring the powers of the villains he faced throughout the story. It almost makes me feel like they are with him in the battle too to help him end ultima
@@andimari9194 Also the "Hear the thunder roaring" for Ramuh/Cid, referencing the fact Cid is the one that initially lead Clive on his path and guide him, and that Clive is following Cid's legacy, very well thought.
No matter what some people say about XVI being a trash, I fucking love XVI. Such a great game.

Anyone else find it ironic that ultima says “flame unforgiving” when johsua throughout the entire game and hell almost all the rosarians have been nothing but forgiving the entire game? Ultima couldn’t have been more wrong with that statement in my opinion and it most definitely was done on purpose

Also if you noticed Ultima calls out the moves for every Eikon while Clive calls them by their names, which pretty much reaffirms what you just said.
@@dinorex3464that was because to hom they were just powers he had. By giving them to humanity we gave them names and souls.
That's not the only one Ultima gets wrong. Off the top of my head, "Ice Unfeeling" and "Levin Untamed" aren't accurate either. Jill is one of the most compassionate characters in the story, and, rebel though he was, Cid was an engineer and his Eikon was a wizard, two professions that are, at least in the modern day, known for harnessing (or taming) lightning.
Ultima is the mirror opposite of Clive so it makes sense from a narrative development point of view@@bucketOfPenguin

Even after all these months I cant stop thinking about this game, man. Regardless of popular opinion and what any award show says, I don't need anyone else to validate how I feel about this amazing experience and I cant wait for what comes next.
Preach brother. We need more of this. Its weak sauce when ppl talk about seeing their game at an award show sponsored by an out of touch industry when all that matter is if it is to your personal taste.
Maybe it's just me but I think Clive is the best FF MC so far. Kudos to Ben Starr for his VA as well.
He definitely is for me. Also, he's probably the strongest male protagonist in whole FF. Strongest overall is still Lightning from FFXIII i think.
I love how triumphant and victorious this song is. Even tho Ultimalius uses limit break when it starts, Clive has no fear. That limit break means nothing, you already know that you’re going to win, and there’s nothing Ultimalius can do to stop it. Soken is an absolute legend.
I love at the part “Step by Step and hand in hand we March on” you can hear the main FF theme

The lyrics really solidify how FINAL FANTASY asf this game is talking about friends and pushing forward unto the end. I fucking love it and Soken is incredible!
4:10 to 4:35 is in my top 3 favorite moments in any media. there’s something about Clive being constantly doubtful and vulnerable even when he’s the most powerful person in the world.
finally being able to accept the love and his weaknesses in the face of a world that was inherently built out of fear, mistakes, and greed when throughout the story he could have easily ended up like anyone other dominant/eikon wielder (benedikta, Hugo, Barnabas, Ultima) is so powerful.
It was so cool when Clive said “this is your final fantasy 16 ultima!” And then he iconed all over him

First time final fantasy player here, when my buddy recommened this game i thought it would just be another crappy rpg but i was blown away at all these amazing cutscenes😊
As a fan of the franchise for years, it makes me happy hearing first timers jumping in and enjoying the ride. I've played almost all the games in the franchise and somehow this triumphs almost all of them, making it into my top 3. It was a fantastic experience and it's good to know newcomers love it too.

Yeah lol exactly, had to hide this vid from my friend who is early in the game and vibing to the music because of the title, sort of defeating the purpose.
I do appreciate the effort though, and love the vid.
I love how a decent portion of the song is a motif of Maker's Ruin. For those who don't know FFXIV, it's basically the Warrior of Lights AKA, the Player's theme song. Having the motif there is kind of like Soken saying. "It's not just Clive taking down Ultima. It's you, the player taking down Ultima."
