The fact you can capture humans is great. They are considered pals as such you can actually butcher them with the knife.
I think they are great with a side of fava beans and a nice Chianti.
I like to keep my humans in the viewing pin thing. While the pals are roaming freely on my base working. Lets see how the humans like being the zoo attractions. 😁

Best Freaking Pal to use with PenKing, those dang little pangullets kept using the Ice shards in tandem and would absolutely obliterate anything. The life steal was perfect on that encounter.

The most important detail that keeps getting left out of the "Nintendo ninjas took down someone's Palworld mod" story is the fact that the mod maker was charging money for the mod, which is scummy regardless. They were essentially "profiting off of Nintendo's work", and that's a big no-no. If the mod was free, the mod would probably still be up.

@@daviddent5662 Because Pixelmon, the mod, isn't paid for. It's a free mod that anyone can download, and uses entirely original assets. The Pokemon mod for Palworld used stolen assets and was monetized. Pixelmon uses original assets, and is distributed for free. As for servers, those are even less relevant. They're not charging for the mod or the ability to play it, they're just hosting a place for people to play a mod that's available for free elsewhere.

On the Palworld mod tho... paywall is one thing. Then imagine the memes and shit posting with Palworld's 'butcher' animation, overworked at base and stuff like that with actual Pokémon... now that hurts their brand image, so it's sensible of them to nuke it unfortunately.

What makes it even more hilarious is that even with the huge number of players at present it is still technically in a beta state so this isn’t even the final game. That means most of these bugs will likely be ironed out by the true release, unlike Pokémon.

the game is basically just ark, but the dinos are pokemon and taming is replaced with catching, and you can use them to automate your base. also add in switch zelda style climbing/gliding.
As someone who's never played ark, the building system comes off like a worse version of Fortnite tho

The problem with that pokemon mod was that he was trying to charge money for it. There are a lot of games out with pokemon mods that nintendo hasn't done squat about. I've personally used one in Skyrim and Rimworld.
Yeah and it uses the models and animations from Ultra SUn and Moon. Selling stolen assets is a huge legal no-no.

it might have been a mod, however the creator hid the mod behind a 5$ patreon subscription, so yeah he basically sold the pokemon models.
The models were also ripped straight from Sun and Moon.
A wise man once said “Kill them with kindness” and well Palworld is pretty much the took that and clubbed Pals upside the head with it.
I was watching Pavolia Reine playing this game earlier, and some viewers insisted that she looked at one of the pals name, and it was hilarious how she freaked out! "WHY?! WHY IS IT NAMED DEPRESSO FOR?!" It was pure gold! XD

For capturing bosses, you first need to get a wanted status. Then go to the boss (fast travel is okay), and initiate the boss fight. When in the boss fight, don't attack the boss, and kite it until the popo shoot the boss by accident when trying to hit you. When the boss turns around, hit it with a pal sphere in the back (doesn't matter what tier), and it should capture it. Speaking from experience.
Afterward you need to respawn, though, since other than dying there isn't any way to leave the room. I think I've heard of a certain boss being uncatchable with this method, but can't remember which one.
Also, unfortunately, the boss and their pal are a package deal. In other words, you can't catch a Zoe, only a Grizzbolt that, when outside of the pal sphere, has Zoe on its shoulder. On the bright side, it has so much health that it's basically immortal.
Fun fact: Here in Brazil the way we spell “pal” has the same sound of the Portuguese word “pau”, which is the most vulgar way to call the male p3nis… The game is translated for portuguese, but the “Pal” term remained. So yeah, this whole game is a giant meme for us, I almost died of laughing when I first saw the description of “Pal Fluid”. Half of the sucess of this game in Brazil is due to this

Lovander is found in the desert at night. At night it's VARY cold in the desert making it all the more tempting to embrace big warm and fluffy. They also carry mushroom even if the dex says otherwise like strange liquid and cake. Every thing about Lovander is made into a running joke

@@Disatiere I don't recall that in the Pokemon Moon dex entry. I recall it saying their pheromones affected males of other species, vaguely implying affecting humans...but never outright saying it. Though still...it's not as blatant as Palworld is where it openly says that Lovander go after humans specifically for nights of debauchery.
I think its funny when people say "oh no you have to beat up innocent creatures to befriend them" on the first island.
Meanwhile the next island over almost every Pal will actively hunt you down without mercy.

Palworld had a completely different reception here in Brazil, because the pronunciation of the word "pal" is the same as "pau", that we use to refer to a stick or to refer to a dick, so a lot of youtubers made video titles making fun of the name

Ahh that’s actually fair then, it’s one thing to do “fan content” but as soon as they monetized it they were definitely stealing Nintendo property.
See, you get it. If Nintendo had struck the mod if it had been free, there would have been way more reason to call it unfair. But even Pokémon has the right to defend its IP, people.
Didn't it also use stolen assets? As in assets that belong to TPC/Nintendo/Creatures? A lot of people don't seem to acknowledge it, but this also tends to be a commonality in many projects that get struck down (although monetization of something you don't own is the even bigger offender in this case). Many fan games over the years that use original assets have had no problem staying up. Meanwhile, every single project I can think of that was struck down heavily used stolen art and music. It's almost like redistributing things you don't have the rights to distribute is a bad idea or something.
Palworld is set in a world similar to zelda using ark style gameplay with pokemon like creatures that you catch and you are able teach new moves using devil fruits.
I felt like an amazing Hyrule knight after I taught my Skitty to use Gum Gum Gatling.

If you let the devs know I bet you’ll find those in the official release, since they are actually looking at player comments and suggestions, which is something most devs for any game refuse to do, because “No one knows our game better than us.”
What I'd like to see is some squad mechanics in the game, where you can have a squad of Pals roaming with you, and use them like a combined-arms unit.
You'd think Pokemon stans would understand the concept of competition and rivals, considering how pokemon has always had a clear rival to the protagonist pretty much since the inception of the franchise
Actually it makes perfect sense they wouldn't understand rivalry. Rival characters went from being your competition for the top, to your direct inferiors who only exist to hopelessly grovel at your feet.
Something tells me Gamefreak got used to that second one in more than just their games...
it's always a one-sided rivalry that's forced onto you (and you can even ignore them, just battle & forget)

10:00 I too was attacked by 2 Kamikaze Dodoes, they exploded on my gate and all was fine... Until they were not fine...
My wooden gates all caught fire and my Pals were too stupid to stop it. So I switched out everyone in my base for lvl 1-6 of the Teacup Elephants...didn't help, so I dismantled my whole gate before it burned down and was destroyed... It hadn't even been 10 minutes after the last raid when I was raided again, but no big... No, BIG B I G !
I was then raided by at least a dozen lvl 31s, while I was lvl 29 at the time, and again my base was defenseless and full of weak Pals in the single digits...
The raiders had free reign and destroyed EVERYTHING!!! Goodbye house... Moral of the story? I use stone now.
I was then raided for a third time like 15 minutes later, but my normal gang was able to take care of them, mostly. I don't know why the game was so randomly aggressive there...

Yeah, learned the hard way too when the enemy raid was all Fire types...
i eventually ha to turn off raids. i was spending a while upgrading and setting up multiple bases and i guess i was taking too long to advance tech tiers from metal to refined metal (i had literally not been able to find the desert for coal, and didnt know it spawned in caves). and the raid level was growing too fast, to the point i had a raid that wiped out a base. and i knew i wouldnt be able to upgrade fast enough to deal with the next one either so it would be a constantly losing battle.

The regular chicken is pretty weak, but the Lucky ones (the shiny variants) and the boss/alpha variants (found in dungeons) are the real deal - I've had my mega shield absolutely obliterated by an Alpha (dungeon boss) Teafant before (normal Teafants barely cause a dent in it for me).

I love Cremis (the fluffy little eevee thing), it is too cute. I try to catch every one that I see. Eventually I will fill my base with them, even if they are not that useful, just so I can bask in their adorableness. Also really enjoy using my Foxparks flamethrower.
The fact that Palword works better, has more detail and even looks better than the last pokémon games despite having infinity less resources to make it and it being more complex to make is just sad

I enjoyed 8.5 hours of solid Palworld gameplay last night... *_ON MY MAC STUDIO!_*
Turns out it has absolutely no problem emulating the game using Whisky (I hear Crossover works too, but you gotta pay for that) I ran the game with conservative settings... 1600x900 windowed with AA off and medium settings, which isn't impressive by itself... But I _am emulating_ it... Framerate was smooth as butter, but I need to replace my USB-C enclosure with a Thunderbolt 4 enclosure, cause I did get stuttering when loading data from the external drive.
And my Daedream is too adorable!

@@monarchsub8884 Just sharing my experience, and maybe encourage others who think they can't play it because it's not on their platform to give it a shot. It's also a testament to how stable this early release is proving to be, given that even under emulation, it's rather stable. That, and I had a lot of fun! That's worth sharing!

Best land mount is the lvl.25 boss, its the Coballion look alike. That thing goes super fast and also got a double jump. You can also get Swift and Runner on it for even more speed.

In a way squaring up against your first Pal yourself, then fighting alongside all future pals resulting from that first bout might be more "honorable" than just sending out the attack dog. 🤔
Lmao, I got the fangirls raid and I literally said out loud "wtf did I just read?" Then I went to go try and find them because of where I planted my base. Side note, that spot right across the small canyon area from the desolate church where all the iron deposits are is a goat location. It's close enough to fly to and from it as well as the raids run through the actual canyon between the areas so you can actually herd them through a choke point. We just need auto turrets now and not just the base pal staff.
Maybe some guard post buildings where Pals stand and shoot, or can be "leashed" to the guard post and could roam in a variable radius around or near the guard post on patrol?
Still keep the game focus on the Pals but give players more viable passive base defense options.

my only complaint with the game so far has just been how heavy everything is. All most all my skills points have gone into weight and i still end up going to back to base every couple minutes just to drop stuff off.

1:07 - Yeah, not very smart of him to monetize and paywall the mod behind his Patreon. By doing that, he gave the Nintendo Ninjas all the justification they needed, as what he did violated IP protections.
If he had not gotten greedy and had made the mod free, Nintendo would have had no legal recourse to strike it down.

Frankly, I hope that palworld grows outside of it's obviously pokemon roots. It has a lot of potential to be a genuine rival to pokemon, which gamfreak needs to get back to making their best work. They've had it to easy.
The problem with wanting to be a franchise killer is that it has no soul of it's own. I want palworld to be itself and be a rival, so both can be better.
It is it's own. It has its own mechanics and story.
I hope it continues to grow, improve, and gives Pokemon an enormous amount of competition.

The mod was behind a paywall, that's why they took it down. Cause the guy was making money out of it.
Fun fact: Lucky (shiny) Pals are both bigger and sparkly, but they also get a move they wouldn't normally get by default.

The Eevee-ish pals are called Cremis. Though the main pal you want starting out is called Vixy. when put in a range on your first base you can harvest arrows, palsphere, and gold from each vixy. VERY worth the effort to grab a good number. i currently have 2 and am gettin about 30 palspheres every handful of minutes. Vixy is located in the yellowish area of the map ^ and < way from starting location.

Sonic the Hedgehog, built to rival Mario, and it's thanks to Sonic's success and toppling Nintendo even if only briefly, we got so many things. Something as simple as boxes and cases for your video games, to Playstation and X Box might not exist if Sonic hadn't come running along. They may have a monopoly on gaming like Disney does so many studios. Who can say, but yeah healthy competition leads to more things.

Using a bat to weaken/take down a pal is just like what happens in Pokemon except removing the middle man of making your pokemon beat up the other pokemon for you.
Someone on the pokemon Reddit said that Palworld is exactly what N imagined the Pokemon world to be in Black and White. And let's be honest, yeah it is. I mean people eat meat in Pokemon, the pokedex entry for Magicarp even says how tasty it is sometimes. And we have pokemon operated mines and electric types locked into light houses all night to make light. Like if you really think about it, the Pokemon world is really not ok.

A lot of the pal’s don’t look too similar on their own but when you can find a very similar Pokemon for each pal it starts to look bad. I like the game though! Too bad it bricks my steam deck after a couple hours and requires a hard reboot to do ANYTHING. But I really love it!

to be fair, palworld doesnt even have evolution, and theres very few instances of pals being similar enough to each other to be considered related.
if they had charizard, it's probably just be a one off boss.
The main reason, I'd assume, the mod was taken down so fast was likely because it was a paid mod, as in you could only download it from a Patreon. If it hadn't been like that it might have lasted a little longer. Not much, maybe, but longer. I'm sure Nintendo pushed harder on them because they were making money off of the Pokémon models.

@@DarthZ01yeah breeding with humans of opposite genders would go hard. You could like raise your child to work on the farm and teach it like 3-4 skills and when it grows up, (let's say after an in game week) it'll be able to automatically do the tasks it was raised to learn, just like any other caught pal, and possibly better. It could also, in its adult stage fight alongside you, and you could give it armor, guns, and even other pals
Palworld destroys every Pokemon game I've played in 25 years. It seems impossible to me that such a small team developed such a massively successful game.
