  • What is wrong with this Bromeliad? In this weeks Brom Vlog, we’ll look at a condition called ‘quilling’ that causes constriction and abnormal growth in the leaves of our bromeliads. Also termed ‘coning’ , this abnormal growth can cause the bromeliads cup to completely close. What causes it, and is it harmful to our bromeliad? Learning how our bromeliads grow is really easy, so come on everybody, “Let’s get growing and have some fun!”

Thanks so much for this video. I have had the same thing happen to my Aechmea fasciata and thought it was fertilizer. Now I know. I learn so much from your videos and look forward to all you postings. I belong to the Florida East Coast Bromeliad Society and post your videos on its Facebook page.

Excellent topic mate. I've a few older broms thst have multiple pups but in a smallish pot for the plants. I'll investigate my stock for pup quilling.
