- * i originally was gonna have this as a full video but unfortunately i didn't have enough storage to render all 18 hours of this game movie so it's separated into parts. Stay tuned for parts 2 & 3*
Story: This is a story of how two men became respected legends among all of yakuza. Kazuma Kiryu, The Dragon of Dojima and Goro Majima, The Mad Dog of Shimano. The two stories happen simultaneously.
Kiryu: A young man who recently joined the yakuza a year ago along with his blood brother Akira Nishikiyama. Kiryu does a collection job for a loan shark. While Kiryu was enjoying his leisure time, he is framed for murder and the bosses of the Dojima clan are very quick to give him to the cops. Refusing to get arrested, Kiryu goes AWOL and must survive to prove his innocence while taking on the entire Tojo Clan.
Majima: A Manager for the famous cabaret club in Sotenbori, The Grand. What people don't know is that he used to be a yakuza in the Omi Alliance but was exiled for "disobeying orders" and was tortured for a year and now he's imprisoned in Sotenbori. Majima's supervisor, Sagawa, arrives at the Grand and offers him a deal to get back into the Omi Alliance. Kill a target named Makato Makimura. Easy enough, right? Turns out there's more to this person than meets the eye and things get complicated real fast...
These yakuzas kill civilians left and right, but when Kiryu does it, the whole family tree treats him as if he had banged the chairman's daughter.
Almost like any superhero with longstanding good street cred; if they as much as get a stain on their image, the cops suddenly turn effective killer machines to hunt the hero down.
Of course, this never happens when they're supposed to catch the villains...
Of course there’s no justice in both the Yakuza games and in the real world
The Yakuza's in this game usually don't kill civilians, although they still might beat the crap out of them or make threats. What made Kiryu's "murder" a grave matter for Dojima family was the place where it took place: the Empty Lot, a essential part of a really big scheme that could be ruined due to the Police investigating the area
well of course they are, they were trying to use kiryu as a leverage to take kazama's position

Kiryu missed his calling as an Idol. It's no surprise *spoilers* his kid ends up pursuing the Idol path and turns out to be really good at it.

The chairman in a criminal organization would have know all about a murder that got that much attention, from the guy who did it to the weapon used, so if you're sure you didn't commit a murder, and the boss still thinks it was you, it was him.

Any plans on doing the rest of the Yakuza games after kiwami 2? These are masterful, honestly. Great work. The Karaoke is very important to Kiryu's character!! I've seen bits and pieces of each of Yakuza games from twitch but never got the full story of any one of them. I did see a lot of 5 and 6 great games. Would certainly be a HUGE undertaking but I feel like you'd do the games justice. Thanks again.

fuck the voice acting in this is amazing, i watched a bunch of yakuza like a dragon and i massively preferred the english dub, but this, man.. if i saw an english dub of this i'd sneer at it

Or they could just animate everything like in the cutscenes of yakuza. They could also animate the fights with the graphics from the cutscenes. Would be awesome

@@theretrosilvergamer7061 Well thats an anime based animation. I meant just like the Cutscenes of yakuza. And using the same face model for Kiryu,Majima and all the others. So they look the same like in the game. Like they do a cutscene for the whole story included the fights so you could make a new art of an netflix series. I guess theres nothing like that in netflix right now.

Watching this now cause I want to play the rest of the series on game pass but don't wanna shell out the cash for 0 thru 2. Does this just include the main story or side missions too? Just want to know cause I know some side missions are awesome and emotional. Played this for 5 hours a few years back before my ps4 died
It’s only the main story. Side content doesn’t really apply to much aside from the Real Estate and Cabaret Club.

Unfortunately this game is main reason why the idiotic western audience skip yakuza 1 because its almost identical in the storyline. I can't stress it enough complete the game in the order it was released not the number! Yes it can get confusing at first but like game of thrones, you will pick up the deeper you play into the series.
Shouldn’t this be played after 1 and 2... since it doesn’t tell you much of the first game just kinda rolls over it.
